Anyone in Bristol or belonging to Bristol
how is the weather generally there
atm forecast looks extremely bleak but we have about 3 days to the game so will the forecast change because weather generally in England is unpredictable
boy we need those 2 vital points vs SL if anything washout vs Aus or Ind will be good

Bristol again is a small ground but its a must win game if Pakistan are to keep their WC journey on track

Expect a stop start game at best.

Almost 100% chance of rain from 10 to 5 . . Chances of a game look very bleak! Worst game for pak to get rained out . .

Same squad for 3rd match but change Malik number

Imam
Fakhar
Babar
Hafeez
Malik
Sarfraz
Asif
Shadab
Wahab
Hassan
Amir

It looks like it is a rainy day, so may be 1 point each if it keeps up.

If not and the match is played, Bristol has a small ground and there are a lot of runs to be made. Pakistan should bat first and set a commanding total against a Lanka side who are low on skill and confidence.

41 overs per side now. Sri Lanka are 182. I would've backed them to get 250 if they had wickets in hand. But 8 overs left and only 2 wickets in hand. Sri Lanka should look to play all the remaining overs and get as much as possible.

Any thing around 220 and Sri Lanka will be in the game

If rain has to do anything then May be we will get 40-60 overs that day, Pakistan should bowl first and bowl out SL quickly ( in 25-30 overs).

Yeah, if it is stop start kind of day then you are right, bowling first is probably best.

Weather can change in the course of the next two days . Weather is great in Bristol tomorrow no rain and sunny intervals. So it can carry on in towards the end of the week . A reduced game would also be fine .

An unchanged Pakistan side is probably the right thing to do now.

Did you guys consider where australia & afghanistan played? In bristol. And this is what they got:

It's a blessing in disguise that our bristol game will be a washed out, as we know srilanka is better player of swing & seam than us.

Would bring in Imad but not sure in whose place really. Maybe in place of Asif Ali.

Would keep Malik, as Sri Lanka has a lot of lefties.

THat's loser mindset, I would want a full game irrespective of whether we win or lose

Looks can be deceiving.
The pitch was barely doing anything

Imo Pakistan tends to play better on green pitches than spinning tracks.

If it is going to rain then I want Pakistan to be bowled out for double digits and then the rest of the match being rained out.

We’re obviously winning. The important thing is to be ruthless and absolutely demolish Sri Lanka so we we get that NRR back up. Expecting a 10 wicket win if we bowl first or a 150+ run win if we bat first. Sri Lanka are the worst team in this world cup.

Well, people were saying the same kind of things before the Afghanistan warmup ....

No one should dare underestimate SRL. They have capable players.

I am just hoping rain doesnt ruins this.

Weather has now improved for Thursday from rain to nice weather and no rain . Saturday has also improved. Which means potentially we can see a chance of a match on Friday.

Just bad luck...no rain Thursday and no rain Saturday but heavy rain showers predicted all day for Friday! Will drown my sorrows in the cinema watching John Wick 3...

Is anyone going to the game? With the threat of a washout is it worth the 3 hour from London?

Heavy rain all day unfortunately with thunderstorms.

Very little chance of play.

Almost certain abandoned game.

Almost certain washout. This is good ole British summer weather. :mv

Don't know why the boys are practising when their seems to be no hope at all for Friday's match.

This is the World Cup ! They are professional cricketers, they have to do all the prep from their side and not get complacent . Weather is not in there hands but the prep and practise is.

Yes it’s not like they’re playing a long World Cup or anything. Should stop practising immediately until it’s clear there will be no rain in the future. Good post.

According to BBC weather is improving for Friday from when I checked this morning . Less chance of rain and more sun as well. The weather for today , Thursday and Saturday is perfect . Maybe the rain willl stay away for Friday to!

They are gonna field terribly and drop catches as well in the the next match! No point in them practising! Go in and have some samosa's!:inzi2

Insha Allah. Aap ke moo mein ghee shakar! Even a reduced overs match is better providing Pak get the points. Will pray the clouds open up if Pak is in a bad position so we then get a point.

Met Office says otherwise

"Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
Heavy and persistent rain will spread from the south early Friday, clearing overnight. Windy with sunshine and showers Saturday. Showers again Sunday but lighter winds, perhaps more persistent rain later."

I seriously hope it's not a washout, really hate rain. But against SL I think we need more slow bowlers who can constrict and reduce the flow of runs, put pressure on the batsmen and look at players such as Imad who can castle their batsmen. Get Hafeez to bowl out their lefties, when we come out to bat then we should show zero mercy against their bowlers, literally throw the kitchen sink at their bowlers. I don't think we should play the likes of Hasnain I don't really rate him that much.

We would have said the same if the Windies match got rained out.... So I wouldn't assume anything.

No one said that the windies match would have been easy to win. It was a 50 50 match. This however pak should easily win if given the chance

Again can't assume anything, we would have backed ourselves to beat Afghanistan as well in the warm up.

Can't be for certain, if anything the rain is probably a blessing.

Imam and Malik shouldn't play. This would be my lineup:

1. Fakhar Zaman
2. Babar Azam
3. Haris Sohail
4. Hafeez
5. Sarfaraz
6. Asif Ali
7. Imad Wasim
8. Shadab Khan
9. Wahab Riaz
10. Hasnain
11. Amir
I don’t know why you people hate Imam.I think if there is any player who is technically correct should be Imam.
And what is it with Imad. This guy can’t bat or field.

Sorry to break it to You but he's not correct.
It's going to be extremely rainy.

I’m not saying there’s no rain on Friday . But the days either side ( Thursday , Saturday ) are fine . This is according to BBC weather . I am merely saying that is possible weather may improve for Friday , as the weather for Thursday has improved compared to what it was yesterday. All obviously based on the weather reports.

Just checked the forecast again and unfortunately the probability of rain has risen from 62% to 78%.
90% chance of a complete washout.

df.jpg Forecasts in UK change but a 90% forecast usually is accurate.

I understand that Pakistan's performance can vary from abysmal to outstanding but you seem to be stretching it a little too much here.

How is rain a blessing vs a team like SL? Pak clearly go in as solid favorites.

Also, no one would've said the same thing vs WI. WI is definitely a much superior team who almost all here were rating as quite dangerous.

I am sorry.

But after everything we've been through from Post CT 2017 up until the Windies match, can you HONESTLY be sure of anything with Pakistan?

No you can't.

Unfortunately we are going to lose two important points. Srilanka have always been a fav opposition of Pakistan

No you can't.

If I can be sure of anything post CT, it is of beating SL. The results speak for themselves.

I have no doubt that SL would be the happier team if the points are shared.

We literally thrashed them 5-0 in the UAE. Very disappointed that the game is going to be washed out.

Sorry mate, can't take any team lightly in the World Cup.

Blessing in disguise this.

Lol, no one is taking them lightly.

Doesn't change the fact that this is Pakistan's easiest game in WC.

Also, no one can predict the future but we all have the common sense based on odds.

That's why people here are saying it's unfortunate for Pakistan.

Sorry Pakistan Cricket is something else.

Can't predict anything.

No one is predicting anything. It's just an opinion based on the odds.

Also, going by that logic, it can't be a 'blessing in disguise' then either.

Should think positive, 1 point is better than no point.
