Shafiq starts way too defensively and when gets out the pressure is on us then. Our lower order below Misbah is very fragile. Shafiq shud play a bit normally. While Adnan Akmal shud be replaced with Umar Akmal. We need Umar Akmal back in Test cricket. Umar Akmal's come back in Test cricket will prove very good for us i think. Hafeez is the other weak link. Hope he delivers in the other innings. Fawad Alam, Haris Sohail and Umar Akmal shud be brought to Test squad.

Scored 100 in his last test that too against SA.
 
I wud replace Hafeez with Fawad Alam. Shafiq with Haris Sohail. And Adnan Akmal with Umar Akmal.
 
our lower order regularly looses the initiative we had a chance to bury Lanka but once again inept keeper and tail left the door open.
 
Fawad Alam, Umar Akmal and Haris Sohail should effectively & immediately replace Azhar Ali, Shafiq and Hafeez. 3 years now and the latter trio has prevented the team from performing at its true potential ... High time 3 of the best FC batsmen are inducted into the test squad and 2 of the 3 immediately into playing XI. It's mind boggling that these 3 despite being amongst the best domestically can't find a spot where as 30s avg. batsmen continue to get picked. :facepalm:
 
Pathetic batting today,

Time for Hafeez to be dropped and FAWAD to replace him and Adnan should be replaced with hi brother Umar or Rizwan,,
Need more depth in the batting,
170 odd lead seems nothing on this deck against batsmen who score huge on flat decks
 
If Lanka gets 400 here we could in a bother. Lower order has left the door open for the Lankans.
 
Misbah's strike rate was very low. Had he scored with the same pace as YK, his score would have been 210. We lost 75 runs because if his tuk tuk

Our lower order really sucks, I must say we have the weakest lower order in the world. If we take Misbah and Younis's contribution out of this total, the youngsters did nothing.

Hafeez and Akmal have to go..Khurram Manzoor should be given the series to see how he goes.

The Misbah is the problem? The guy who stuck around and scored 135 runs is the problem. Logic.
 
When will this dumb selection committee open their friggin eyes ??
 
definitely isn't a 'flatty', Lankan pacers were getting a fair bit of movement off the wicket.

that being said, Pak batsmen certainly should have applied themselves better against Lakmal and Eranga, only had to see off their spell and it would have been smooth sailing from there onwards.

it surely is not a typical Uae track where you can let Ajmal loose with a big first innings lead and win the game, if the likes of Sanga and Mahela get in we would be in some bother.

That is true, but that can also cause you to lose your wicket. We needed Misbah to be out there until the end, especially after Younis departed. The selectors need to make some bold decisions.

Agreed, a his domestic stats show he has regained form, however he needs to up his strike rate, something in the 30s will never win you a test match.
 
Shafiq is a disappointment yet again. If he doesn't watch out he'll end up getting the boot just like Azhar. Adnan Akmal and Rahat also need to be kicked out.

What wrong has Rahat done? Atleast give the guy a few more games before putting the shutters on him. Main guys who need to be out of the test team is HAFEEZ and Adnan Akmal. Bring Azhar Ali back and give Rizwan a debut
 
Whats with PTV sports using like 20000 random words for every sports commercial. Its seriously annoying.
 
Must pick up 5-6 wickets before the lead evaporates. Sanga & Mahela the key wickets as always!

Right, blame the guy who stuck around and scored 135, but Hafeez, Shafiq, Akmal are ignored #GREATLOGIC
 
the game is safe unless Sanga or someone delivers a masterclass
 
None of the commies ever commend Junaid when he bowls a good one :(
