Rain could ruin this test match! Heavy rain forecast for days 2 and 3.

It'd be a shame if rain plays a spoilsport and the match ends in a draw.

Its raining right now. Looks like it could be a long wait for Test cricket in Pakistan

How's the weather looking like for the next three days? (Pak vs SL)

Just checked the forecast and it's not looking good unfortunately. The only day where we can expect a full day's play is on Sunday but it'll be too little too late by then.

Is anyone here a local so they can tell us exactly how the weather's looking like for the next 3 days?

If so, please do share your weather updates

Cheers

I've checked it's 20 points for a draw in a two match series

Total points are 120 for each tes series and for a 2 match one it turns out to be 60 for each test. A draw should be giving 30 each. 20 should be in a 3 match series.

It should be but unfortunately it's not.
Pakistan should have scheduled a 3 match series instead a two match one. One draw at least was guaranteed

He's actually right. Draws mean fewer points overall, I think that's a good move.

True. Never understood the point of a 2 match series in any format. Minimum should be 3.

Its quite dumb from PCB to organize match in Rawalpindi in mid December, where light is bad, days are very short and it often rains during this time of the year. Weather in Karachi is much better for cricket these days. After Karachi another city in south should have been considered. Even Multan would have been much better than Rawalpindi.

To be fair, it was raining in Multan yesterday.

I think they realize all of this but might have had their hands tied due to security issues. In my estimation, they were likely working with limited options (Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Karachi) otherwise SL would refuse to send their team. Remember, most of the venues are approved by a security delegation well in advance.

Plus, they probably didn't want to host multiple Tests in the same city (i.e. Karachi) due to the resources it uses up over an extended period.

It's a tough spot to be in for the PCB.

Ramiz Raja :

“It was a tough day in Rawalpindi. There was frustration because of the rain and bad lights. A lot of cricket could not be played because of this. The debating point is why the first match was not played in Karachi? It does not have the same weather as Rawalpindi. Test cricket was being played in Pakistan after 10 years. We could have had five days of cricket there"

I agree with Ramiz. It is such a historic match and PCB should have hosted it in a better (no-raining) venue.

Looks like we'll get a full day in on Sunday.
But how's the weather for tomorrow?
Looks like it'll be partly sunny throughout
