Second ODI between Pakistan and Sri Lanka rescheduled from Sunday to Monday (30th Sept)

The second One-Day International between Pakistan and Sri Lanka has been rescheduled from Sunday, 29 September, to Monday, 30 September.

The decision has been made mutually by the two boards to allow the groundstaff to prepare the National Stadium outfield for next week’s play.

This week’s heavy rains, including on Friday afternoon, has left the outfield soggy, with the groundsmen requiring, at least, two complete days to make the ground fit for cricket.

PCB Director – International Cricket, Zakir Khan: “This week’s unseasonal heavy rains have forced us to review the series schedule. I am thankful to Sri Lanka Cricket as well as our host broadcasters for agreeing to amend the match schedule to ensure there are no further abandonments due to rain in what is an important bilateral FTP series for Pakistan.”

The PCB has also announced tickets sold for Friday, 27 September, will be valid for either 30 September or 2 October ODI, while tickets sold for Sunday, 29 September, match may also be used for either 30 September or 2 October ODI.

As per the PCB ticketing policy for the series, the PCB will also allow refund of all tickets for Friday’s match.

It has also been agreed that ticket-holders of Sunday’s match unable to attend Monday’s match will also get full refunds.

Tickets for Monday’s rescheduled second ODI will also be available online and on the dedicated TCS counters.

Need to get this series back on track

so there goes the weekend. Dont expect many people to turn up for the game on Monday. Poor infrastructure and management.

I am sure people will make time for this game - still more than than UAE.

extremly disappointed ... was soo looking forward to it .. given weather forecast, the series look in danger of not happening at all

You cant blame PC and management for weather...Although Lahore might have been better but Karachi has always been the best for weather front

according to theweathernetwork , there is 20 percent chance of rain on sunday and 40 percent chance of rain on monday.

Man Karachi use to be our best stadium with time just like the city the stadium has become garbage too

They built an ugly roof costing billion rupees yet the drainage of the stadium is garbage.

Should really just knock NSK and GSL down and start from scratch with them again. Completely outdated stadiums.

If it is so easy to “reschedule” a game - why is it not done more frequently in bilaterals and ICC events?

This was necessary because the ground is completely flooded, there was no choice. They need time to prepare it.

poor drainage system.. exposed all the arrangements . but it could be blessing in disguise

Honestly, if those are actual visuals from outside the stadium then we would be very cruel to even think the inability of the groundsmen or the lack of facilities were the only hindrance in the match not happening.

First ODI abandoned and 2nd one rescheduled to 30th September

Any different tactics/team combo?

Pakistan need to regroup and really smash SL side in the 2nd ODI! Play your best side - no need to experiment.

Anyone know what the expected pitch conditions will be like? Will it be a flat road with plenty of runs on offer or will the rain and dampness provide some assistance to the fast bowlers?

Raging turner bro.

This is why pakistan should not be hosting any cricket let alone icc events.

Only test playing nation with stadium and infrastructure 35 years behind everyone else

I wonder what squad they will go ... Would be nice to give Rizwan a go I don't think he will be selected for t20 squad any idea when they will announce the t20 squad

There hasn't been matches played in Pakistan on a regular basis for like 15 years, once they play cricket more regularly, their technology will advance.
