What's new

Pakistan vs Sri Lanka | 2nd Test | Dubai | Oct 6-10, 2017 | Day 4

That was lucky, thought we were in trouble when the third umpire decided to ignore the inside edge

Are you kidding me Mr. 3rd Umpire? There is no way on earth you can go to Hawkeye, when there is a mark on ultra edge . . and the ball was too near the bat for you to determine otherwise . . that was really bad from the umpire! SL should have lost a review

Another average boosting but completely inconsequential innings on the cards for Azhar.

This DRS revised law is making the game even slower. It should never had been with players.

I believe it would've helped had today been the last day of the Test match. That way Pakistan would've gone all out to score these runs today. Due to the fact that there is another day left, they are caught between attacking and defending.

I actually meant Gamage, but yes both have been better.

People won’t agree, but I don’t see Azhar making any team that is ranked above Pakistan.

How Sami score so many runs in U-19 cricket? Was the pitches super flat or opposition has 3rd grade bowling attack

In next please Harris and Sarfraz for once come up the order :59:
but Sarfraz is in his training cloths :/

I think it's more of a confidence issue. He performed well overseas but was dropped. He's a good talent just needs to put it all together

Nice yorker, only if Sri Lankan batsmen showed this much determination in the second innings

i know it is probably above the abilities of shan masood but atleast azhar ali should try to rotate the strike.
All these dots will definitely prove costly

Gamage looking do some damage.... Yo... Yo... Yooo

Lot of nervous energy is clearly seen. They are too scrared to commit to any shot afraid of collapse.

Bad patch of form.

Just needs confidence and sort out his temperament with coaches etc.

His consistent performances in England weren't flukes.

There was too much on Snicko for it to have been an edge. That was the ball hitting the pads. Then again the 3rd umpire is Indian, so... :)

What? He would make the Indian team as opener ahead of Vijay I guess.
Possibly, depends if we want Mr dependable no.2 (after Pujara) or not. Vijay's away record is second possibly only to Cook in the last few years.

Vijay is probably one of the best i have seen when it comes to knowing where his off stump is. Only Dravid was this good. A factor that goes against even Pujara and Kohli.

Need to blunt new ball.

Shan is ok.

A quickfire 20-30 from Shan won't put any pressure on SL.

it is a mind game from here on. Hold your nerve play off seamers and be prepared for spinners. If you lose wickets to seamers it is a bonus for them.

Need to grind this chase out tbh.

Completely disagree with Rambo's brigade against Shan right now.

Pujara as opener is fine but he should play in the middle order as he's our best player of spin by miles.

Azhar is counter-productive in a real batting lineup, and in a poor one like ours, he only increases the possibility of collapsing in a heap.

Blocking everything doesn’t prevent collapses, we should have learned that by now.

Yes he is, almost impeccable, the only problem is he has a brain fade or two every session.

That's not what I'm talking about, I'm saying Vijay's away record is second to none. Only reason to choose Azhar over him would be to go for a guy who is slow & steady, but he's a bit too slow for my liking.

In my opinion , Azhar is more of a complete package than either Vijay or Dhawan and he scored a double hundred in OZ at a decent rate while also scoring a triple in the UAE. Vijay's two year odd purple patch is over and even then he doesn't really svore that big.

Azhar is a classy test batsman who can adapt to most conditions and grind it out.

The kinda guy who usually bats out the most overs in the innings.

One advantage PAK has is that during twilight period, ball will be 60+ overs old, and the 2nd ball is due next morning.

Masood isn't even good enough to see of the new-ball shine, if he does miraculously do that he'll be out soon after from spin.

He's an awful batsmen. Nothing player.

Pakistani tea does take time, tbf [simmer, simmer & more simmer].

Kashmiri tea takes more time than you can ever imagine.... older generation here take 20-25 cups of tea per day..... it takes more time than dinner....
one of my relative takes minimum of 40 cups of tea per day... my father takes 22-25 cups...

What's the difference between Pakistani tea, Kashmir tea?

Why can’t other batsmen play around him. The guy has some limitations and we all know though though he’s come along way to over come them. The other batsmen need to play with some intent and look to score at least 3 runs an over while Azhar can be your anchor. But the problem with this batting line up is that they all go with one pace which is snails.
