mashallah lovely batting by these 2. look how hard is it to bat agressive on this pitch??
its not like they are going after every ball but playing very sensible cricket. nyce batting by asad. showing his skills and showing to the world, he is test material aswell. i think taufeeq should learn from adnan atleast as how to play agressive and bat widout any fear.... i hated the way taufeeq played in this test match. dilshan back to bowling. now more runs will follow. good reverse sweeep by adnan. told you, its fun to see adnan bat.

Everybody has different roles, and not all situations require aggressive play. I don't think we should/can make such comparisons

Asad proving his doubters wrong..time to bury the spectre of Mirza for good in the sands of Dubai!

it looks like in the last test it was the managements instruction which led to negative frame of mind for the whole team

What were the management instructions? Weren't they to pick up the scoring rate?

To me it looked like Shafiq was insecure of his place in the team, as Malik is there as well. But not sure...

Last 10 ovs 41/0 RR 4.10
Pakistan 373/6
Pakistan lead by 134 runs
partnership 49 runs, 12.4 overs, RR: 3.86 (Adnan Akmal 22, Asad Shafiq 27)

bro you got me wrong. i didnt meant to compare them. i just said, taufeeq needs to be a bit more agressive. i know he has his own style of batting which is dead slow so i want em to show some agression. who bats like that the way he did, especially after coming off from a test where he scored 200 runs. so that shows, he is just trying hard to cement his place, where as, he should play freely with open mind and if you keep scoring, you will be in the team. times have changed now and the deserving ones will play and get to play

Good solid partnership! Need to keep up this rate all next session and maybe bat for 10-12 overs into last session! Pretty much try and get lead to 200-250!

All batsman have scored at least 20. Hope that continues for the batsmen to come.

Well bowled...

Shafiq has been quite solid throughout this innings

Let's hope he kicks on to make a century too

pakistan should be aiming for 100 runs in this session! need to get this lead as big as possible and as quick as possible

Good stuff by Shafiq & Akmal. They have already got us where most of us wanted pakistan to be. Now get another 100 runs

Tarapore seems to be from :billyd's school of thought. Play it safe and keep your finger down all the time for the LBW, unless it is absolutely dead!

Unlucky asad...but a fine and much needed knock....look at his strike rate....ideal for tests

damn..was hoping shafiq would get a century...shulo at least he played well..hopefully gulla and co will now throw the bat around and get us a good lead!!

happy now?

scoring madly when all that was required was steady accumulation

whats the point of getting a small lead on day 3 when we only need to bat ONCE

For the lbw appeal, why are they talking about where it pitched? It hit in line and was going on to hit.
