With Bardee and santokie opening I think sending a leftie, Sharjeel, up the order would be a worthwhile gamble. Move Kamran to 3 and drop Hafeez for 5. Drop Maqsood he is wasted at 6 or 7. It's a night game so definitely should chase, although dew was not a factor in the Aus India game
 
Pakistan's batting is a worry seriously.Only Shehzad and Umar has one big sccore under their belt.Umar played a terrible shot in the first ball he faced and got out against Bangladesh. He has talent but his skull sometimes seems to be empty, devoid of brain tissue.So, he is not a dependable batsman.

Kamran is a one dimensional player. Only likes to cut and drive. So, WI should sort him out easily.And he has no big innings in this WC.

Hafeez is as usual clueless against good bowling, in pressure tournament. I thought that he would score big against weaker Bangladesh attack.A. Razzaq bowled well and he is bamboozled again.Narine should get him easily.

Malik...he is not even worthy of discussion...garbage batsman.

Maqsood is not world class or even asian class. But he is better than above 2 in no 3/4 position.

Afridi...can do anything-unpredictable.

I m just dissapointed to see this batting line up.
 
Dont worry folks we are winning this, the west indians have unleashed the gangnam style a bit too early, the wc is over for them. :p

Pak will win this.WI are over confident and complacent after that match against the Aussies..
 
We should look to somehow squeeze 70 runs from badree/narine/santokie combo for loss of nom ore than 2 wickets

Then look to really tee off and take bigger risks against the rest. For the other 8 overs if we can go for 12 an over we should put a good target up - roughly 165-180


If we are chasing then we should try restrict them to under 140... Any more than that and i think our fragile batting will collapse under the big pressure of the situation

You're right, the worst batting lineup in the tournament after Netherlands..

do we need a 2nd pacer ???

Everyone is saying that ... 2nd pacer be it - Junaid / Tanvir or Bhatti would get mauled - My Q is - why play a 2nd pacer - why not play an extra batsman in that case ??
16 overs are covered by Ajmal / Babar / Afridi / Hafeez

Par score is 170.

Either we will bowl out WI for under 170 and bat out the win or batting first reach 170 par and squeeze WI out of the game with spin.

I think its the risk of the spinners being sent into orbit in the early PP overs... If someone takes a liking to spin early on and goes ballistic.... There's only Gul... But i would agree with you, get sharjeel in but for malik
 
Pressure games chasing is tough. IMO if we bat first and get 160 we should win
As the games today showed chasing is tough now with the pitches slowing up.

In that case - I want the 2nd pacer to be Bhatti
He is the only one who can realistically contribute anything with the bat !!
 
WI will be very dangerous have a feeling Narine will destroy us we are due a collapse

Guys guys, who is the best player os spin its afridi..

I remember afridi hitting Narine out of the park in Windies...he was letting narine bowl full and flight,.

Afridi should bat at nr 3 and hafees or umar should come at 4-5..

We need Shehzad to play good shots, I hope Pakistan bat first...

How the teams handle the opposition's spinners is the key.
Both sets of batsmen have the propensity to implode.

One team will implode under the pressure, don't think it will be a close game.
 
Pakistan can be the best team in the world on Monday, the worst team on Tuesday and the best team again on Wednesday. It just depends which one shows up tomorrow.

As long as they the best team on tuesday, thursday and sunday i'll take that. They can be crap on wednesday/friday and saturday.
 
Our players have the tendency to make big scores one game and then go for zilch in the next. Refer to Umar Akmal this tournament, and Shehzad last year in South Africa.

This is the same team we humbled in their own backyard last year, I don't get how West Indies are being hailed by some as favorites. With Shehzad looking good now and Kamran in *relatively* good form, we just need Hafeez to step up to the plate and lead from the front to have a solid top order (even now 2 out of 3 batsman performing at the top is good enough)

As far as facing their batting goes, their only player of spin, and technically correct batsman overall realistically is Lendl Simmons, other than him all their "batsmen" prey on pace, which Pakistan isn't (hopefully) stupid enough to gift.

Gayle was figured out by Hafeez, Sammy and Bravo are sitting ducks without pace on the ball.

Pakistan will need to play very badly to lose this one

Well i know i shouldnt be thinking ahead.. but i wouldve loved to vs NZ in the semis...

A lanka semi final just reminds me of the last t20 cup where they knocked us out :/

Hafeez is due a big innings, hopefully he comes through. And I really wanna see afridi come good and hit narine and badree out of the park.

Hopefully junaid is tried, because the tanvir/bhatti experiment didnt go that well.
 
Unfortunately, I don't see Hafeez/management making any changes going into this match. If a change needs to be made, I'd add in Junaid over Tanvir.
 
The simple thing is that best 4 batters should be in top 4.

Pakistan management has to force :hafeez down the order.
 
I would definitely have Junaid for Tanvir and Sharjeel for Malik. Malik hasn't done anything special with the bat and hasn't been utilized as a bowler either.
 
Just dont anger WI off or give statements against them before the match and you got the match.
