What's new

Pakistan will now win the Asia Cup

I can't help but laugh at this Pakistan team.

Our fans are way too optimistic and deserve any backlash from our friends in India.

I'm happy to see the more deserving Bangladesh team go through to the final. Pakistan could only manage to beat AFG and HK - laughable.

Yes apart from Malik to some extent hafeez also is early 2000 entrant who take these games just like another game, for others even i can see the presure on their faces

Isnt this supposed to be your home ground? India is fielding its C team. And Pakistan loses to Bangladesh? I feel sorry for Pakistani fans. This must hurt.

There is this saying about not counting the chicken before they hatch. I suppose the OP had got deluded by his own make believe hype.

This thread was oozing with arrogance, hopefully next time a Bangladesh team without Shakib and Tamim will be given at least a little bit of respect

BD team without both tamim and shakib = BD B team. Pakistan loosing to a BD B team is definitely not looking good. That ZIM series did not do PAK any good. Only made both the fans/players a bit dilusional. But this is a good thing. This will make the players take a good look at themselves.

I hope from next time some posters will give BD the respect they deserve as a team to save themselves from embarrasment

I think, there is nothing wrong in OP Title - as long as no date is mentioned.

I'm quite confident we're winning this actually.

Rohit and Dhawan have played as well as they are capable of up to this point. They are both due failures. Same thing happened in CT.

Fakhar and Babar (our two best bats) are yet to 100s in this tournament. They are due big individual scores. I think Babar will make a name for himself with a century in the final. Sarfraz has also batted worse than his capabilities this far and got some time in the middle last time. Batting at 5, he has a couple of more chances to play an important innings.

Our bowling has looks out of sorts, Amir and Hasan have been trash. And they are not trash. While Bumrah and Kumar look like McGrath+Gillespie 2.0. Expect things to resort back to normal in the final.

Plus, Dubai is Pakistan's ground, not India's. Actually UAE is Pakistan's home. And they will defend it.

And you were saying :kohli

ICC seriously needs to consider playing Pakistan team in Qualification tournament with associate teams or else this kind of dismal performances are not good for cricket.

Hahaha amazing to see some so-called Pakistanis/Pakistani wannabes having fun with this.

Relax, it's a game. I was wrong. It happens.

Pakistan played poorly. They had a very good chance of pulling it off but they mucked it up. It didn't go as planned. That's life.

They'll bounce back.

Onto the next one.

Pakistan should go through Asia Cup qualifiers next time and prove their worth by playing against Nepal, UAE and Oman. I wouldn't be surprised if they fail to make it to the tournament proper.

We will get ample opportunities, no worries. The World Cup isn’t far. Our bowlers will be more effective on the English pitches.

You wish. CT17 has given you false hope.

Last time your bowlers played bilaterals in England your team lost 4-1. :dw

That was England in its home conditions, their players are a lot better equipped than Indian batsmen to deal with those conditions. It was also made evident in the battering India received in their recent tour to England.

Lol no. Their batsmen was just as bad. And in ODIs you won't get any such conditions. It will be pataa wickets. And your bowlers will continue to receive phaintas from every team that is not ZIM or SL :dw

Those “phataas” will be better than the fast bowler graveyards we saw at UAE especially Dubai and those will be enough to expose the FTb Indian team.

And why shouldnt they have fun? Would you not had fun if Pak beaten BD today? You set up a troll thread knowing very well the embarrassement to follow if backfires.

Or you will keep getting whitewashed by top teams like it's been for ages now. :dw

Pak fans lost all touch with reality on that fateful day in June, 2017. :afridi

Not a troll thread. I genuinely saw it happening, but it didn't.

I'm talking about those who call themselves Pakistani. It seems to be that some would rather have this "troll thread backfire" than see Pakistan actually win.

Lol, lets look at the biggest positive. No 3rd phainti at the hands of India

Now we know why Pakistan has been avoiding bilateral series against Bangladesh. In order to avoid going through the qualifiers before making it to the tournaments.

Fast Bowler graveyard and that is why pakistani batsman were all at sea in their 2 games against India and imagine if Shami and yadav were bowling....

Pakistan is a champion team.
We should remember Australia in 1998 lost to India in Sharjah final also knocked out of champions trophy 1998.
But we all saw what happened in 1999 world cup, same way things will be turned out in future.
Mark my words
In WC semifinal, Pakistan chasing and Rohit Sharma will drop Sarfaraz catch and Sarfaraz would say "Bhai, tune to WC drop kar diya".

Ya true :D I was scared of a repeat of CT2017 where v did all the road rolling until finals came and we got humiliated. :yk

But, to complete the story, after that he has to score a hundred as well ....... about which, I am not sure actually. May be time will change by then.

Seriously man, you need to understand that the 1998 Sharjah Cup and the Champions Trophy was played with no Glenn McGrath or Jason Gillespie. It was almost a second string attack baring Warne (Who did not play in Champions Trophy, just played in Sharjah). The 1999 WC saw Australia return to their full strength. No comparison between the two scenarios.

Again in Final 2019 WC vs Eng, Root will drop Azhar Ali and Azhar would say, "Root bhai, aapne world cup drop kar diya hai".

You genuinely saw a team that barely struggled to beat Afghanistan in last over and was given 2 hidings by India (8 and 9 wicket losses), suddenly fire and win the Asia Cup?

Then what happened to the saying "Man gets only that what he strives for".

Or you expect that Pakistan just needs to show up in these games and nature will take its due course?

I am curious did you genuinely think Pakistan was going to win or did you genuinely hope that Pakistan was going to win. You can be excused for the 2nd one as that's what keeps the fans interested. But if you thought the 1st one, you need to see where you stand tonight.

There is something called as momentum in cricket and that was missing with Pakistan throughout the tournament including the 2 games against India. Please understand there is no Imran Khan and Wasim to take you out of the hole from nowhere and win the World-Cup...Lots to ponder over before WC 2019..

If you've observed Pakistan over the years, you know how they do it.

There's no pattern to anything. All it takes is some confidence, which I saw them gaining after beat Bangladesh (an easier task than Afghanistan, who we did beat).
