Does anyone believe that, if PAK Domestic style allows these players to compete with equal opponents every week on a standard wicket, in a meaningful match, things can be revived quickly?

The biggest nemesis in PAK cricket is pressure - they are competing with a relaxed England side, mentally they are not stressing PAK players ball by ball.

Skill was never an issue, neither power.

You are taking the best of players bro.

I have repeatedly said that some of the players from the past era would make hay in current situation. Easy 45-50 average at 85 SR.

But not all would.

Majority won't.

Just cos Aravinda De Silva would average 50 in today's era doesn't mean Marvan Attapatu would do better. The former would be hailed while the latter would be chased off the team.

Proportional isn't 75 runs in 15 overs......75 runs in say 20 overs.

Here's a simple yardstick:

India's tail of Jaddu, Ashwin, Bhuvi, Mishra would be a solid tail in 80s. Can slowly get the runs. Actually Ashwin and Jaddu had won a game in Aus (against SL) from a tricky position when run rate wasn't the issue. Dhoni and Ashwin won a game in Perth scoring slowly but effectively.

However in today's times and in high scoring games, all of them (barring Jaddu) can't slog fast enough so all the talent in constructing innings is kind of a waste around 90% of the time.

Also I agree reg boundary size and 2 new balls.

Talking about the demands of the current situation.

In proper conditions and against proper bowling, majority of modern day explosive bats would be mostly lulloos.
