Pakistani Males and their preference for White females

It is a slippery slope, many women want to be independent at the start like all of us and earn their own income and way of life but what I've seen is that many who have menial jobs like sales, office etc want to stay and rear the child after birth as their natural instincts kick in.

However the situation is such of late that one income isn't enough and they have to work anyway.

I have seen many cases of a man marrying a girl who is a home maker, but not a single case where an earning woman married a man who is a homemaker ( not counting situations were a man had to stay at home for some reason after marriage, but it was understood that man will stay at home and take care of home at the beginning of marriage).

I always skip over resumes of women. I had the misfortune of hiring one, a loud delhi girl, and she used to spend away her income on shopping, as she had no responsibilities towards her parents and was used to others bearing her expenses.
 
People are quick to blame colonialism for the obsession with white skin, but colourism, or rather preference for white, is rooted in religion itself.

I am sure people are familiar with the concept of noor, which means light. It is not associated with anything dark, but with something that is bright and white.

Furthermore, the white color is associated with purity and cleanliness. The ihram that we wear in Hajj is white, the cloth that we are buried in is white, angels are supposed to be very white and bright.

There are many narrations that state that “the Prophet (PBUH)‘s face shone like a moon.”

Moreover, the hoors of paradise are described as so white that you will be able to see through their skin.

While Islam does not promote racism against black people and we can that with the status Bilal enjoyed as an exalted companion of the Prophet (PBUH) and also had the honor of becoming the first muezzin,

There is sufficient evidence in the teaching and traditions of Islam that clearly illustrate that the color white is preferred over the color black, and dark is preferred over light.

As a result, it is not something that is associated with colonialism only. It is also deep-rooted in our religion.

There is nothing wrong in preferring white skin. However, it does not mean you should be racist and discriminate against black skin. Personal preference/choice should not lead to racist behavior.
 
People usually get very defensive and passive aggressive when it comes to debating the link between attractiveness and skin color.

It is true that women and even men to a great extent are considered more attractive if they have lighter skin.

You ask most Pakistani women and they will prefer to marry men who are fair. It works both ways.

This attractiveness is primed by religious, culture and of course our colonial past as well.

Similarly, because we live in a patriarchal world, women are associated with beauty and physical attractiveness. That is because men shape the narrative in this world and the vast majority of men (since gays are minority) find women to be beautiful and attractive.

However, if you look at other animal species, the males are viewed as more beautiful and physically impressive by humans.

A male lion is concerned more beautiful than a female lion, a male horse is considered more beautiful than a female horse, a rooster is physically more impressive than a hen.

It is quite possible that from the point of view of other species or if some aliens ever visit the earth, the human males will be viewed by them as more beautiful and physically impressive compared to human females.

There's an element of truth in what you say, the black stone etc. Fair is fair really... White is what humans are attracted to however this thread is freaky as delves in to the psyche which could be linked to the grooming scandals etc...

There are some elements of truth to what Mamoon says, but it is a bit simplistic. Often people are attracted to different colour on the basis of differential. People sometimes marry a different colour because they prefer the mixed colour, so white women are often attracted to darker males because they want caramel babies. Same can hold true for darker women.

I also believe there is a power element at play. Because white societies are the most successful, this will be reflected in the their films and tv shows and that perpetuates the attraction which show them as heroes and heroines.

Otherwise if everything is equal, is there really that much to colour beyond these perceptions? Do you prefer a white dog to a brown one? A white horse to a black one? A white cat to a striped tabby? Why does it become such a big deal only with humans?

Sorry i may not have articulated myself well enough. But amongst my peers in Western Society there is definitely a new trend whereby Pakistani males are reluctant to go back home to marry because the traditional values as you mentioned i.e. less demanding and be good homemakers are no longer there in these women .

There is a growing trend of women coming to the UK from back home and sitting on whatsapp all day long speaking to their friends mothers etc while their husband is out working and neglecting their household duties.The Husband is expected to run the household as well as his wifes back home. Alsoit is becoming more and more difficult for people especially in the UK to live on one income. white females, especially eastern Europeans are very independent and can be seen as bread winners in their own right. This is why pakistani men in the west especially the new generation are deviating more towards this type of women now because it will give them a better standard of life.

I don’t know about India, maybe because most of them are dark-skinned, or perhaps there is white preference in Hinduism as well. Could be both as well as a host of other reasons.

I'll agree with one aspect from above. The European women are perhaps the most independent out there among other communities. Take any work place, even construction, there's dominant force of women there. In kiosk, supermarket perhaps 90% employees are women. Especially in Russia, Ukraine, Poland

The whole of Germany is being run by German women. They can do everything. They are everywhere. I would say that they are even stronger than South Asians in physicality. It is the most beautiful thing to experience when women can compete toe to toe with their male counterparts. Our whole degree at the university is being conducted by female German PHDs and hardly a few male PHDs there. Sometimes I feel that the western world follows Islamic teachings in their day-to-day dealings and on the other hand in actual Islamic countries like in Pakistan - they are treated as personal maids first of their brothers than their husbands.

Many people did in the past and i definitely agree this stance is very backwards. However speaking from experience and being around men that are looking to get married, things have started to change and it looks like we have gone full circle. This is the new social media generation after all, ive heard stories of women demanding to see houses and cars before they even think about coming over, I've heard stories about men that go out and work all day and come back home and their mrs is sitting on the sofa video calling back home , no house work done nothing. Some men will still be happy with this and if they can afford it why not, however in the west this sort of lifestyle is becoming harder to maintain and again in my opinion this is why pakistani men are deviating away from this culture and moving to other girls.

How do German women manage when bringing up families? Do they hire nannies? This is one of those unspoken difficulties that we get in the western world where kids are involved. Very difficult to manager a career and bringing up young children in a satisfactory manner, half a century ago it was expected that the woman would raise the children and look after the home, and the man would work to provide the income. Nowadays the average household needs two incomes so I am guessing you have to juggle the baby care and chores. Never had to do this myself as happily for me I earn enough so the wife doesn't need to work but not the case for a lot of people.

I am not sure but If I remember that noor wasn't white it was a grayish sort of color people misrepresented it as white color for some reason
 
Really? Is this true? I think it's just personal preferences.

For my two cents, I'm a Pakistani who's been in Canada all his life and.im 19. I personally only find brown or white girls attractive. Just natural. Not really a Pakistani specific thing. You're jaut attracted to what your used to I guess.

Exactly. Even in Ukraine, they don't make excuses. Even in construction, they lift/work as hard as the male counterparts. I think desi people especially girls are a bit lazy when it comes to physical exercise. The female students in my university could run around the whole sports field 10-15 times easily where as I could manage 3-4 at max. They have tremendous stamina to continue a hard work for longer period of time than us.

I think the WWII has changed the gender ratio in eastern europe and women had to fill in the shoes of what was allotted to men earlier and they have done it beautifully which have continued in next generations.

Well in Pakistan if you are middle class and above you have maids. So a lot of these women probably did nothing there either, and are not used to doing housework.

However there are women in Pakistan who are working there, and would like to continue to work after marriage.

Because it makes one appear racist. So if someone has a preference to a certain skin tone or race, its in their best interest to keep it to themselves. Otherwise there will be people, including those that have the same preferences as they do, who will say U racist.

So the question we must ask is if the media influences how we determine beauty, or does how the population views on beauty cause the media to show that?

Forget Hollywood, the Pakistani and Indian media has for the most part light skin actress, most models are light skin, and the average male their desires to marry lighter shade women.

Is it because of the media the people are this way, or because of the people the media is like that?

Also its rare to see women marry men who make less than them. Usually when that happens the women has settled, the women was marrying a man on potential and the guy did not succeed, or the women got more successful after marriage.

With half of marriages ending in divorce in west among white people, clearly not a bed of roses.

so much inferiority complex in these posts above wow. I think all women are diffrent not every girl in pakistan is lazy and not every girl in the west is a go getter. It depends on individuals and everyone is unique.

I have lived in both pakistan and Germany, german women can be very good looking but I have seen in pakistan many as beautiful women if not more. Difference is that western women are more fashionable and open to fun which make even average looking more attractive than they are while pak girls are very reserved, also german women are much more practical because when it come to daily life , they are low maintainence and try to share equal load with male partners.

Also people should stop blaming colonialism or stuff , good looking people are good looking, pakistan has many dusky hot women as well, probably hottest women in pakistan are Wheatish
 
Also not all pakistani males are attracted to white females , I know plenty of pakistani guys who straight up say they don't see any attraction among white women and their faces look very plain.

Reminds me of what an Asian friend of mine said a few years ago.

He had a shop where a girl was working for him. He said "look at her, look how well she looks after herself, yet look at my own wife, she does nothing about her appearance and the hairs on her legs are longer than mine."

White women also has long hair on their body. Its just that we cannot see them as the hair(blonde) is not easily seen on pale skin.
For poor desi woman, jet black hair on brown to yellow skin is clearly visible. Hence it looks disgusting. They do not do anything about it because personal grooming and hygiene is not taught from childhood. In India, especially south India, putting on lipstick or removing facial hair and trying to look better is considered a taboo. To them, only loose character girls do all those things. The maximum they are allowed to do is put coconut oil in their hair, braid it and decorate it with some lily flowers. Not to forget, some talcum powder on their face.

"Disgusting" is perhaps a little harsh term to use but many desi females do take care of themselves; however, western clothing where white blondes show some extra skin, usually suits only them (in my eyes).

And not that I am against desi women wearing western clothes, but imo, it backfires.

Symbolism is meant for human interpretation. I’d rather place emphasis on the actions of the companions than descriptions of angels or houris (not white; described as transparent and black eyes). This obsession of fair skin is much more culture based than religious.

It had to do with the fact that being pale meant you did not work outdoors (hence, not a serf or peasant and of higher status) than someone who did work outside in the post-Industrial Revolution era.

The Europeans used the excuse of color as an excuse for expansion. Just as the Chinese do their “Middle Kingdom” or America “Manifest Destiny”. Of course, this has carried over to their former colonies and hence the Pakistani obsession with fair skin. (One supposes fair skin showcases someone who also does not work outdoors a lot and is of higher status, since Pakistani society is very much like Middle-Age European feudalism.)

Dude,
There is a reason why fillet mignon is priced higher than a brisket cut.
It's soft, and it tastes better, and hence more demand. It's a universal truth.
If a minor community of some folks like the brisket better, then good for them.

But if you think majority has been brain washed into believing this, then you need reevaluate perception.

If there a lovey looking natural blonde girl with deep blue eyes and soft silky straight and light golden hair and an equally lovely looking black or brown or Oriental girl standing next to each other, then most men will go for blonde whether colonial or not colonial. Even most white guys will also go for blonde.

As I stated earlier, there is reason why most adult magazines have their cover pages decorated with a hot blonde.

They have spent millions and they have done their research long time ago. They know what sells.

If that was true, most white males would be marrying non white females. But that is not happening. So it only means that the stereotype, if at all, exists among the non white males, and since it is not universal, it shows it is just khatte angoor.

Uh...a lot of white guys actually do marry out lol. This is supported by census data, in fact white men marry out more than white women, a lot of white guys are into Latinas and Asians, there's the whole yellow fever thing. Once again, I feel like people in the subcontinent who have never been here have their prejudices, they can't fathom white people being into nonwhite people cause of their own subconcious racial hierarchy.

There is big difference between most and a lot. Can you show the census data? I checked wiki ( it may be wrong) and it says around 98% white men marry white females.

And I am a pro diversity person, which is why I disapprove of inter racial marriages, and mixed race marriage kills race and hence racial diversity.

Uh....there's no "most" in inter racial marriages; mixed marriages are a minority of marriages across ALL racial groups, even among White Male-Asian Female which has the highest percent at over 1/3rd

I dont know the exact statistics but here in Canada races are mixing alot. in school theres so many mixed ethnicities and its continuing to grow. I read a while back that in usa in the next 20 years the white population will be less than 50%.
 
To not put too fine a point to it .. native Europeans are more willing to be 'adventurous'.. generally speaking, Asians would prefer another of their same background.

Amongst American Koreans, they make a big thing of marrying white women, generally not approving.

Diversity doesnt mean one person having diversity in DNA, but diverse communities co-existing together.

intermarrying has been happening for eons, ethnic groups don't die off usually the child assimiliates and adopts the father's culture, you won't believe how many people who pass off as pashtun or punjabi have a mother or grandmother from another ethnicity. Culture =/= genetics.

To answer the OP Pakistani men do not have a preference for white women. In fact they prefer Pakistani women, regardless of where they live. However their is a bias, which is wrong, towards lighter skin women.

If we classify Pakistani women based on skin color, we can break it down to 5 categories.

1 - 5% would be very light skin, almost like white. Girls with this skin color are called Gori.
2 - 20% would be light brown or which would be also described as Gori
3 - 50% would be Medium Brown or called Saanwali
4 - 20% would be dark Brown or called Dusky
5 - 5% would be very dark brown, close to black - This would also be called Dusky or Kali.

Most men would prefer women in the first 3 categories. With some preferring only the first 2.

This is why we see abroad Pakistani men marrying white, Asians, middle Easterners, Hispanics, Indians, but rarely African origin women.

The real question is why are Pakistani men this way? What could be done to fix this? Or is it simply case of it is what it is?

Not really ,I have seen lot of german guys saying the same about german women and prefering dark hair /dark eyed mediterranen women.Personally to me fitness matter a lot , if you eat well and are fit you will look above average no matter where.Fitness should be promoted in pakistani women and men both.

This is not a joke. I wouldn’t joke about something like this. Upon some reflecting I think there are 2 reasons. The first like I said is the pure challenge of it which I’m confident I can overcome. The second is the power dynamic at play.

Kashmiris, Khatris, and people of pathan zaat (as in the non pashto pathans who have mixed blood with other subcontinent people)

No being too gora is not a good look on men. I think the olive skin tone for men looks better. And i think their are some subcontinent females who might be able to pass as goris, but it would be extremely rare to see that on a man.
