Another one churned out of the assembly line....

Don't get me wrong, it's an excellent achievement. I had to work my butt off to get all A's but I only had 14 subjects in O and A levels combined. I did it for a reason. I wanted to get into a good univeristy. However, I personally believe that this is absolutely unnecessary. The guy has given his reasoning but I still don't understand this. How exactly will this help anyone or even himself. Studying for these exams like a robot by solving past papers doesnt really benefit you in the long run. Our education system and mentality is such that it keeps making these robots that get a 100 As. Getting good grades here is more important than actual learning and practicality.

It's no surprise that this kind of arbitrary stuff gets applause in Pakistan. We are so starved for actual meaningful achievements plus, like I mentioned before there is an obsession here on getting x amount of A's. This puts unnecessary pressure on kids and churns out robot after robot with no practical skills or street smarts. I aced my Cambridge exams so I haven't made this thread out of jealousy or spite. It's just something that makes me cringe every year because we always get news like this.

Well atleast the guy has listed some productive things he wants to do but I still find this absurd and meaningless. Nothing against him. He could be a great bloke for all I know

Here is the article on it

From time to time, out of nowhere, Pakistanis come out with achievements that remain unparalleled. Education in Pakistan is a very ambiguous and perplexing game altogether, some say that Pakistanis have mastered the art of acquiring the best education there is, while others opine that the people of the country are opposed to the basic demands of education.

Overcoming all these obstacles, one Pakistani student from Multan set the trend straight and his name heard out loud. Meet Hunain Zia, the kid who has finally finished his O/A Level IGCSE exams and secured a WHOPPING figure of 66 As!!

Hunain had previously spoken to Parhlo, saying, “Look it goes like this. I am aiming to achieve a hundred As in International secondary and advanced qualifications. The only reason is I aim to establish free education in the future!” — The dream it seems, is now a little closer to reality. This is what Hunain posted on his social media page.

“Alhamdullilah. Made it to 66 A and A stars in O Level, A Level and IGCSE and a distinction, with multiple world records, including maximum appearances in one session (27 days) = 45 subjects (154 papers) and highest hours of constant examinations = 19. In January, when I first uploaded my result of 42 A, people frequently asked me the reason I gave so many subjects.Today is maybe the best opportunity to cite the story that has never surfaced before. I was a normal student till last year with only 12 A and A Stars and a normal number of subjects ahead. On the 5 of April last year, however, I lost my best friend due to circumstances. It was a great shock and that left in me a feeling of not being capable enough.

So began my work to gather a team of people who could work on the aims I had in mind to revolutionize our society. Mr. Editor became my right hand in this. Although a very few, after 2 months of constant work we gathered as “Flex Hazel” and this became the reason I embarked on appearing in the subjects in January and yet again now. We are determined to make a difference to help people and have a set direction since we gathered. We, as a team needed a spokesman and a leader, whom people would hear and respond so that our projects can help the maximum number of people, and we needed him to be known fast. So after the collaboration with Mr. Editor, we decided that I could fill that place by ensuring that my results gave me a voice.

On behalf of Flex Hazel, I announce that within the next 4 years IA, we will start 4 major and 3 minor projects in Pakistan designed to help every stratum of the society. A free education and youth support are our two main aims. We have already launched the first registered Talent Hunt of Pakistan with its official page www.facebook.com/talenthuntpakistan. The official launch date is 21 August, yet beta testing is underway. However, I am just a link in the chain and do not deserve the total credit for what many are jointly trying to accomplish. Although I am in the most senior management yet I am just a passage in the route.”

Once again, we wish Hunain the best of luck with his future ventures and hope that he aces whatever platform he chooses for himself and for the betterment of education in Pakistan.

Talented, gifted and overperforming individuals like Ali Moeen Nawazish, Haroon Tariq and Hunain Zia are the shadows behind silhouettes that prove that hardwork and determination can get you as far as you want.

Lucky you with 14, I had only 8 in total.

Can't even think about 66.

Sounds bizarre but more power to this kid for doing what he wants, hopefully he doesn't go to a British college like a lot of old fashioned people in Pakistan stuck in colonial times who still think England is a superpower.

If you really think that this is a good practice then you just have to look at how Ali Moeen Nawaish has turned out and that bloke only had 20 something A's with a B and C in Chem and Fur.Maths respectively.

Is the editor of Jang at the moment and cannot stop licking PML-N boots with every freaking tweet he does these days  It's extremely depressing to see someone who was touted as one of the finer ones in the country to be professional boot licker in his mid 20s :(

Giving o levels is one of the more pointless endeavours in life

I was an acha bacha and studied throughly for but I now regret wasting all that time doing that

To days he was saying that nawaz sharif pulled a bigger crowd than Imran Khan ever did during dharnas.

Like seriously. Aankhain hain ha button?

Yes, unfortunately I read that and it was sad to see even the current O level students (the millennial generation which we associate with being absolutely delusional) taking an absolute **** out of him for being ridiculously absurd.....

I don't get why you are trashing A/O level students... people who do well in them are some of the smartest people I have met and they also usually do really well on SATs too so they get into good colleges pretty easily. I wish I had taken A/O levels in Pakistan rather than going to an American public school that teaches you nothing.

OT: Thats a massive achievement by the kid hopefully he continues on this route and persues a career which benefits the country.

Achievement, yes indeed it is. How much will it help him, though?. Honestly after a certain number it's just a number. Had he done 25 he would have gotten the same applause and would still have Ivy League universities or the likes of Oxford and Cambridge after him. I'm baffled though how he managed to do 66 and excel in them.

I got 3 Es and a D in my AS Level result. Surprised how these people do it frankly.

Ivy leagues wont be chasing him based on O level results if his SAT isnt stellar (which is not straightforward) and overall school results arent great

Maybe Oxbridge might cuz they give more weightage to O/A levels

66 O Levels is stupidity. Why would parents let the children go through this just to boast?

Go through the Guinness book of world record and most records will have zero relevance to real life. This should be looked at in the same way. There can be no doubt about the achievement but this is about doing something exclusively for the sake of making a record. Nothing less and nothing more.

Serious overkill. Would be a shame if this kid ends up in any school that's not top 3 in whatever he decides to do.

All that effort just to get in a place like Karachi Grammer LMAO

Because the only use of Olevels is to get into a good Alevels school... Most universities look at your Alevels results and SAT scores for admissions. Kind of a pointless endeavour.
