Pakistan in the past decade or so have been blessed with raw pace bowlers & in recent years influx of left arm bowlers too. Over the years, we have also been gifted with spinners that have shown their capability to establish themselves in the longer format of the game.
One player being Yasir Shah. A crucial player. However, at the age of 32 although some will argue that he is heading into his peak years; others may argue that now is a good time to introduce a spinner in the side who will not only learn from Yasir Shah but also assist Yasir Shah in situations were the pitch is heavily reliant on spinners.
This is the current Pool of spinners to my knowledge and ranked in accordance to how close they are via the 'eyes' of the selectors... (Not all, as some are already part of the set-up)

Point is, we are not short of options. However, I feel PCB are not taking advantage of the era... The era in which the art of spin cricket & spin bowling in general has slightly declined. Neither are PCB too bothered in investing in a Plan B spinner, whether off-spinner or not, in ODI/Test.
Who do you think will make the 'breakthrough?'
