Ok so you have Yasir Jan, Ghulam Mudassar 155Kph ?? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyaHwID91wk) , and Zahid Jnr who apparently bowled at 148Kph ... how are things progressing with them? and what's up with Shinwari ?

And how true is this Ghulam Mudassar bowling at 155? Not that good in Urdu to decipher what they're saying in the video.

There seems to be alot of hype around Ghulam Muddassar. He got tonked around the park in Zimbabwe of all places. Even in domestics he hasn't set the stage on fire. (In his last innings he picked up 7 wickets though)

Seems like all he has is pace, and you won't dismiss top line batsmen with just pace.

I'd be glad if he turns out to be more like Amir rather than like Wahab.

Ghulam can swing the ball.

Relax bhaijaan, he's just a kid. You'll have plenty of time to rip him apart with your keyboard keys once/if he makes it to the top level. Right now he's just some unknown kid on the streets whose parents don't even know where he is.

Raw ingredients is all. You don't eat a cake while it's still just a mixture of flour and eggs, right? you wait for it to bake, bas samjo wohi baat hai. Aqib Javed the chef is baking this cake. Let's hope he doesn't burn it. :sami

Ghulam does not ball 155, lol. He's around 140-145 right now, can probably push a few deliveries up to 150 with maximum effort.

Doesn't look like all pace.

I didn't see you on the Ghulam Mudassar thread after the recent performances. What happened? :afridi

Yasir is very raw and there are arguably better prospects on Qalandars development team than him.

Zahid is training at NCA according to TalentSpotterPk.

For a change, It'll be good to see Pakistan producing bowlers who can bowl consistently in the 145 range rather than just the odd effort ball at that pace and rest in mid 130's.

Pace is all that matters. The rest is coachable or learnable. Pace is natural.

If you look at Akhtar et al early doors they never shone out if you only look at early scorecards. Pakistan pitches kill pace. If these guys were bowling in Australia or England they'd be ripping it up.

Yea that's true. Wahab will retire in a few years and we need at least one fast bowler in the squad. Hopefully this Ghulam guy can replace him.

Hes got such a demanding action and his pace (from the video) looks like in 138-145k range which is perfectly acceptable considering he is swinging it miles. I would say bring him in after the PSL.

I resonate with most comments in this thread. A couple of pacers among the aforementioned need to be shoved in to the team and given a long run, or at least travel with the team so that they get acclimatized to international cricket. Like s28 said , pace is all that matters. The rest could be developed.

Plus, reserve bowling options like Rahat and Sohail, who aren't bad options, are aging. And are either 30+ or on the wrong side of 20. So it's always good to have a solid backup attack, and to have enough bowlers for a healthy rotation policy, so that your star bowler won't get injured due to over bowling.

Pace is a very important factor. See what India did with Umesh and Varun? Pakistan need to play such players in the PSL , give them exposure and train them under good bowling coaches.

Not bad at all...clearly better than a lot of bowlers. I think what's most important is to give confidence to players, when the mental side of a player improves. He can achieve almost anything.

Ghulam Mudassar with right guidance, training and optimum sports nutrition can become a fast bowler who can bowl between 140 - 150 kph mark consistently. (If he stays major injury free with that actioj of his)

Currently his top speeds seem to be around 88-89 mph while average speed is seems around 85 mph.

It would be a miracle if he ever becomes 150-155 kph bowler. I hope it happens but it's highly unlikely.

The Moment his bowling matures abit with him consistently hitting good lines He should be picked for Pakistan National Team. This may take 6 - 18 months in my view.

He is an excellent find MashaAllah. Hope he stays on right path.

Really would like to see some of these young lads get a chance. How hard can it be considering how absolutely worthless our current lot of fast bowlers are.

Pakistan fast bowlers are honestly horrible.

They need to invest in a new set of bowlers.

Keep Amir and Hassan and try to find 2-3 other pace bowlers.

I wouldn't say they are terrible, Riaz especially strikes at a good rate but it is about time they phase out Riaz and Tanvir. Like you said, they need to build their pace attack around Amir, Hassan, Junaid, Raees, Irfan Jr, Irfan Sr (his ban is a bit too lengthy imo) and nay youngerg uys coming up through the ranks.

Issue is, outside of Australia (even their group isnt that tested) there isn't exactly a deluge of fast/swing bowlers coming through. Pak have been very good in having some of the best spinners around in the last 10 years and that has helped them immensely, especially as pitches all over the world have slowed down.

Maybe the age of the genuine quick with swing is gone.

Pakistan pacers don't fire as a group either.

Seems like a lot has changed (for the better). In addition to the likes of Ghulam Mudassar etc. mentioned above, Pakistan now have:

Nasim Shah
Muhammad Hasnain
Muhammad Musa
SSA
Arshad Iqbal
Munir Riaz
Shaur Ahmed
