PakPassion and Life

I used to be intimidated by the debates here while I lurked, so picked up good debating skills from the masters. The best arguments I have picked are as follows:

1. If the minority were in majority they would be doing worse to us than what we are doing to them. So things are not so bad.
2. Liberal extremists and religious extremists are equally bad. If the liberals don't like religion why do they keep talking about it?
3. What about that incident when the minority was at fault, what about the special privileges they get?
4. This is not true representation of my country and people. Only the good are true representation of the current state.
5. Any killing is bad and of course I condemn it, but they should not have provoked.
6. You don't have the right to point fingers at my people. First clean your home and then talk.

I have found that using any of these master arguments I can almost always clinch the debate.

The masters you refer to sound more like petulant children with stunted mental growth. If this is what you've learned in your time on PakPassion than it should be a warning sign for others starting to get more active here.

Top thread @TM_Riddle! Good to see a lot of familiar posters in this thread.

As far as my life goes, just know that I joined PP when I was in grade 6. :))) Probably the youngest joiner on PP (or joint with aloo paratha) tbh. I remember the kind of names shaz619 would call me, and how the likes of London_Lahori Red Devil etc wouldn't even allow me in Lightning Hawks' parties. :amir

Have come a long way since. Grammar/language skills have definitely been developed to a great extent, and I must thank PP for that.

Graduated middle-school and am now just a month from graduating high-school - how time changes!

Got my acceptance into university Alhamdulillah and that's the next chapter of my life.

In between this 6 year period I made a great amount of friends and got to know a huge amount of people, both on PP and off the forum as well. Played a lot of sports, hung out with friends, been chilling and all. :uakmal

PakPassion is definitely a 2nd family. First thing I do when I wake up (no matter how tired or low on sleep I'm on), first thing I open when I get home from anywhere, and last thing I do before I fall asleep - all PakPassion. Great forum and I absolutely love this environment. Shoutout to all the mods and members who make this possible (major shoutout to Mamoon, who I believe is the life of this forum), and hopefully the quality of this forum remains the way it is at present. :)

Haha remember all those GIF's of you trying to get into the parties :)))

How is that. Is there someone on this forum who corrects grammar or sentence composition. People who write bad will always be writing bad and vice versa. Maybe it gives people some confidence to actually write when they have never in the past.

Your vocabulary expands because you pick up new words, and you also learn to construct your arguments better.

There is no doubt in the fact that Pakpassion would massively improve ones English regardless of wherever he stands.

You can only improve your fluency in a language by speaking it more with native speakers and immersing yourself in the culture.

:)))

Tyty!

Yeah, unless you're Indian. :yk I like to dish it out to those folks tbh :shehzad shaz619

:))) Love all you guys, SD's post summed it up nicely and he'll always remain a Baby to me dammit! Red Devil :))

I am born and raised American, but that has nothing to do with my writing skills.

Been a member for 11-12 years.
The Friends who introduced me to the site have stopped contributing but I know they're still lurking around..

I think I must be the oldest or one of the oldest members here. Put it this way, I have kids older then most posters here.

Anyway, this site is awsome both for the Cricketing insite and the Timepass section. There is just so much information and it's fascinating reading everyone's views on different topics.

I know I've kept the moderators busy over the years, Saj and Mig will testify to that!
But with time you mellow down and I hope to continue being a member for some time longer...

Missing the older guys..

Great thread TM Riddle

I joined PakPassion on the eve of the infamous 2006 Oval Gate Test match #InziVSHair

So what has happened in life since then - off the top of my head:

- Oval-Gate saga
- Asif & Akhtar's Nandralone saga
- Pakistan got knocked out the 2007 WC by Ireland
- Bob Woolmer's untimely demise
- Defeat to India in the 2007 T20 World Cup
- The Lahore attacks
- Pakistan won the T20 World Cup
- Pakistan made UAE their new home
- Spot Fixing Saga
- Pakistan defeated the No.1 ranked England 3-0
- Defeat to India in the 2011 World Cup Semi Final
- Pakistan defeated India in the Aane Do series
- Pakistan had a couple of forgettable World Cups (ODI's & T20) & Champions Trophy
- The Big 3 were formed
- Pakistan demolished Australia in a Test series in, what was, possibly Paistan's most dominating performance in Test history
- A lot of games VS SL, Bang & WI
- A few games VS SA & NZ

....so those are the main things that have happened in life since I joined PakPassion :)

Oh - and allhumdullilah, completed high school, completed my undergrad, completed my post grad, got a job, got engaged, got married alumdullilah - but mainly the list above ;)

Also:

- Formed the PakPassion Spirit Squad on the back of numerous Pakistan cricket videos
- Got a YouTube channel with 4,000+ subscribers and 4 million+ views only fruit to be shut down by the BCCI #NeverForget :sanga
- Inducted shaz619 & Red Devil into the PP SS - that's right - PP SS is a thing!
- Saw the rise and fall of Moe & ChaudrySaab
- Got a chance to be a PP mod thanks to Gotham Cronie and king Rizzy
- Joined forces with Bhaag Viru Bhaag & sensible-indian-fan to lay the SmackDown on the BCCI cheerleaders
- Thanks to PakPassion - to meet the Pakistani team in Scotland prior to the Champions Trophy in 2013

I cannot in words describe the amount of changes my life has seen the last nine years and seven-eight months, and the impact that PP had on my life through these years. I just feel incredibly frustrated and sad at not being able to dedicate it any time the recent months due to health troubles, but I´ve challenged myself to be what I was over here once my health issues resolve.

PP remains the only platform that allows me the opportunity to state my views, to debate with others and also change my views about certain issues after reading the other side of the story through very insightful posts by some very intelligent minds. It improved my writing skills and my English in general. It gave me four of the six very close friends that I´ve ever had (and many others!), it gave me a chance to kind of communicate with people sitting thousand of miles away in countries continents away. The most memorable times of my life have to be from 2012 to 2014, when I´d post my 'poetry' over here which many would read and message me about in private, and who can forget the funny times I and my friends had here! Almost everyday I´d have a funny story or two to tell, which reached its peak in Mamoon´s thread about his crush (@sensible-indian-fan; 96NotOut blinding light and a few others who´ve left would remember)....

And one change has to be attributed to saadibaba, who got me hooked to English films. Saqs and company tried hard to get me off my Bollywood flicks, but all those attempts were unsuccessful. In August 2014, Saadibaba posted the review of 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' and rated it really highly, so I immediately booked myself a show at Frankfurt´s Cinestar cinema and never looked back. I got so addicted to it that I´ve now watched 41 films on the big screen counting from that - and the 42nd will follow later today! What that also meant I now watch English films at home as well, alongside the Hindi ones.

Also, I love Nostalgic´s writing style. The humour in his post and the (dirty) hints are so hard to get that often people miss it, but I got more trained with time at getting them. Nostalgic Remember the 'Ek Phool Do Mali' conversation?

And many, many memories (some as a moderator mind you) and changes in life.....

I'm sorry to hear about your health issues. I hope you get better. The world needs more people like you to offset people like me.

Good to see you back.Though you might not remember me but I was this teenage boy posting sometimes when you guys were all rage a few years ago.

Brilliant. :91:

No. 2 was me I am pretty sure.

Lol I was in 9th grade when I started lurking, now I'm giving my A Level exams.I'm a year away from University!

So not much has changed from when I joined.

I'm sorry to hear about your health issues. I hope you get better. The world needs more people like you to offset people like me.

Good to see that DP in comments again. Welcome back

i joined almost 7 years ago, went through pbly the worst time of my life, became socially withdrawn, things were messed up in my head.

hence PP and other forums were a real escape mechanism, plus i got judgement free social interaction and no one had to know what was going on in my life.

managed to get my life on track, and i come back here and its a weird feeling, because so much has changed, in terms of posters, but the forum, the arguments, the trolls, and some of the good posters, all that stuff is pretty much the same.

the staggering thing is, on and off, its been a part of a quarter of my life, which is nuts.

TM Riddle, I do remember how you used to rile up some Pakistani posters, yes.

I'm sorry to hear about your health issues. I hope you get better. The world needs more people like you to offset people like me.

Thanks man! As various studies reveal, Saqs always cheers up people.

Watching Christian Bale films always reminds me of yourself. Whereas 'The Machinist' (2004) was a genuine recommendation, I still believe 'American Psycho' (2000) was your ploy to have me get caught by my parents. Too bad for you that I´d looked up its parental guide on IMDb and watched it on my PC.

I´ll in return come at your 50th birthday party and gift you a very bold poster, presenting it as your lifetime wish.

I still really have no understanding of you as a human being.

About 5000 of my posts all came in the year I joined. I was mostly active then and generally spoke more on these time pass forums and league thingys. ChaudrySaab and shaz619 were my two all time favourite posters. I'm not sure if they remember or not but I had some good interactions with Mamoon, blindling light, Afridi96, 96NotOut Pakistani_Legend and cricket083 @saiyan. There was a lot more sound people back in those days who I haven't mentioned while now I don't really talk to much people lol, especially outside the cricketing forum.

PP has always been that go to place once it's exam time for me and am web surfing.

This thread just brought back a flood of memories. PakPassion have been a great platform to interact with some of the discerning people around the world. Over the years i have had healthy interactions with a number of posters which helped me grow as a person. I don't really remember all of them but Red Devil Nostalgic TM Riddle GreenKnightRises DHONI183 Mir jibran ChaudrySaab Square Drive SwingNSeam Haroon786 HamzaSaeen 96NotOut London_Lahori cricket083 Munna Afridi96 IslamabadUnited Moe and Watsupdoc are the ones which i still remember. All in all PP is like a family member to me

Thanks for the tag, guys. Logged in after a long time.

Those were indeed some great days. Can't forget our grand Topic less thread that was invaded by us :D Made some great memories in league section as well. Gone are those days! :/
