so it seems that teams play OD Cup based upon their standing in QEA FC? Whats happening here?!

Utter incompetence. Then again, this wouldn't be the first time. From memory the champions of the T20 Tournament from the year before last (Karachi Whites IIRC) weren't even part of the T20 competition last year as they had been demoted in FC cricket.

What a farce!

PSL gets the lion's share of all progressive thought.

Although, I would like to hear someone from PCB on this topic

I think, PCB tried to implement an idea used in last millennium, when there was single division in County cricket. This is actually not bad idea if applied properly - AUS cricket still runs in that structure, WIN as well, but obviously PCB has missed the key trick.

When Counties were in single division (18 teams), it represented 100% of England and they played both FC & List A games under those 18 teams simultaneously. Same can be said for AUS, WIN & SAF - AUS had 7 teams, SAF 8 (?) & WIN 6 in their domestics covering entire country and there was no promotion/demotion/qualifier.

For PAK, problem is they have created multiple over lapping tiers and not necessarily exact 8/10 teams in FC game should belong to both formats. Some fertile brain has started this idea, which is great for first year; but it went above head, what'll happen if identical team (s) are not relegated/promoted next year for both formats.

All these useless "development" needs to be stopped and spending money for "brain storming on domestic cricket" are the biggest waste of money. Regional or Corporate structure hardly matters, as long as top 8 teams represents entire country in top tier and there is no such promotion/demotion/qualifier - then they can play even 3 formats this way and that's actually is better. It's like 8 individual cricket boards under PCB and they'll have independent administration, a pool of around 35 players for FC, List A, & T20 tournaments; dedicated home ground (s), fan base and coaching staff.

Haven't seen any from official sources yet. PCB don't seem to have bothered.

Have you seen them anywhere mak36?

Not from any official sources, no. I have seen some squads on twitter but they are all from unofficial sources so not sure how reliable they are.

It really does beggar belief such a simple task is seemingly beyond the PCB's abilities...

I legit did not notice this before... 1-4 September will be the first FC game, then the same teams will face each other in 6 September in a OD match?
