Will there be a new scorecard layout?
Like the graphics of it?

Any details about are they going to charge the same rate as IMG? If Blitz were awarded the media rights, surely there must have been a good deal?

I hope there is no impact on the commentators?

RIP to all the people specially Indians and psuedo-Pakistanis who predicted a premature death to the PSL with "Reliance" crapping in their diapers.

Well done by new MD Wasim Khan. Long may you continue and may Allah make your path an easy one to tread.

I’m pretty sure no one thought that this was the ‘death’ of the PSL.

We all knew that they would get another production company at some point even if it was late.

Pakistan should not have had any deal with Reliance or any media associated with India for PSL or any activity. Someone should go and visit Indian Cricket Fan page where they are dreaming to be in Peshawar aftermath of war.

You can thank patriot Najam Sethi for signing with "Reliance".... perhaps made a quick buck or two on the deal as well.

Please don't blame Sethi for everything, it was Ehsan Mani who signed with IMG Reliance in December 2018.

Wasn't it just an extension/renegotiated deal that was already in place by Sethi beforehand?

It was your ehsan mani who made this deal not sethi.

Sethi had been selling purchasing the tv air time himself and didnt had to get in this production mess.

Too bad, an experience guy like mani must have now costed us alot on this big blunder

So which channels are going to show it and where? Do we have any information on that ?

Good.

People who were celebrating it (parosis) have ketchup thrown on their faces.

PSL will and should go on like before. Politics and sports should never be mixed, no matter how bad the relations are.

It also showed that IND companies are very very prone to domestic audience pressure, and are never a good entity to do business with.

ICC should take note, and avoid any deals.

I'd like some more details too, what channels will show it and how about the comms team?

This is a great opportunity and platform for PCB to start their own production house with high quality coverage which they can then take to domestic infrastructure. I hope PCB is capitalizing on this.

Have to applaud PCB here with having a plan B in place and acting on it so fast. :salute

The question though , will IPL ban the overseas cricketers playing in PSL?

I dont think so they can, it will be against the free trade rights of the foreign cricketers and wont be endorsed by any cricketer.

I won't give PCB too much credit. There was no plan B. As part of it's termination agreement, IMG-Reliance basically handed over the entire existing setup to the Blitz & Trans.

IMG-Reliance probably made a loss but they would've extracted in writing that PCB won't sue them.

It was never an issue. These things are rare but happens and rivals is same industry actually do back each others in such crisis. I am sure previous broadcasters "delayed" their decisions enough for PCB & new production team to get into their act without hampering the schedule. Also, the feed quality will be good as well and I won't be surprised if the new production house uses the same equipment used so far on a short term lease basis.

I dont think so they can, it will be against the free trade rights of the foreign cricketers and wont be endorsed by any cricketer.

They can do actually - players will be listed in draft, but franchise won't buy them. In 2nd or 3rd IPL, every PAK player went unsold, though they did put themselves in auction. Also, I don't think there are many common players - only 64 players are picked in IPL, and probably 25% are common at most - that's 16, easily replaceable.

BCCI won't ban any foreign player. Even Pakistani cricketers are NOT banned in the IPL. It's the franchise owners themselves who've decided it's not worth the risk to include Pakistanis.

Indian Government can announce a blanket denial of business/work visas to any foreigner who's been to Pakistan in the preceding 12 months. The few top names like AB will be forced to choose if going to Pakistan is worth losing the IPL bounty.

So Blitz n co already worked on HBL Pakistan Super League 2017 TVC.

I dont think so they can, it will be against the free trade rights of the foreign cricketers and wont be endorsed by any cricketer.

They can just let the franchise owners know not to pick any player who plays PSL. There are multiple go-arounds to that clause. This is something that I expect will definitely happen.

I think, it's absolutely no issues to keep PSL players out of IPL next year ...... players (their agents just need to be informed unofficially what to do). There could be a problem for this year because IPL action is already done, therefore more than replacement, franchise might face legal threats from players. But, I think that's also manageable - only about 10-12 common players are there and IPL can ask these players to withdraw from IPL on personal ground or fitness issues; in exchange franchise will pay them a signing money for this year and their contract (of current year) will be retained for next year, provided that they don't list names for PSL).

Not saying it'll happen, but technically it's possible to execute .... and at one point, I do believe it'll happen for one reason or either - IPL players not playing in PSL. That's why, I have said many times that the best window for PSL is during IPL - it's main rival isn't IPL, rather international cricket; even excluding 64 IPL players, still PSL should get better picks than what it's happening now during busiest period of International season.

Your passion and vigour for Pakistan is lovely to see. Huge fan of your posts these days...

And well done to Wasim Khan. Great work

So they're gonna ban AB?
Don't think so.
It's all talk

Nope. Just ask them to choose between the two. Obviously, the players will pick IPL due to it being more lucrative.

This will obviously come into effect next season as they can't "ban" any player who is already a part of the PSL.

I have to agree with you on this. Even if PSL loses out to its top draw players such as Shane Watson, Corey Anderson and ABD, the timing of the tournament will still enable them to pick up many other international cricketers who couldn't make the cut for IPL. I think PCB did this because players like Watson, Russell, Pollard and co would rather prefer a double pay day. This will be interesting.

They'll go with the money.
Just coz pakistan can't give as much money as India they shouldn't get the better players.
What type of logic is this

Well done PCB, bravo!

Very happy to see this.

Too bad Reliance, you were not as reliant after all..

The show must go on.

Congratulations to friends in Pakistan for arranging this replacement well on time.

We regret the inconvenience.

Bhaijaan.

I guess they weren't kidding when they said there was a back-up plan in place. Good management on the part of PCB & PSL staff. Refreshing to see!

Any Indian who thought PCB couldn't fnd another company to do the job is a fool.

Why are you thumping your chest, it is not a big deal at all.

i don't think anyone predicted apart in your own imagination. every single league, including some very small city based ones have a producer and broadcaster. No one doubted that PSL can find one.. this is one hyperbole imagination.

true, the worst case scenario would had been Ary taking over

Add to it that the decision becomes yet easier once the PSL supposedly moves completely into Pakistan.

The only league haters want dead is the IPL. Other puny leagues aren't relevant enough to be hated so passionately.

was there any change in quality of the production or broadcast?

Psl tv rights

After the exit of IMG reliance of psl production does the deal of broadcasting rights which PCB sold to blitz and techfront for $36 Million stand? Or it has become null and void

Because as far as I know IMG reliance got the production rights for $5.1 Million and at first PCB was looking to take over production after selling broadcasting rights according to espncricinfo.

And kindly tell me what is the difference in broadcasting and production rights?

For all you may know img could have subcontracted all the equipment and resources to blitz for the remaining uae games just not direct to pcb.

Big blunder? They had a contingency plan which was to have a back up broadcaster. What are you smokign these days Mr. Shahrukh. Criticism for the sake of criticism is never a good idea.
