Top officials of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will meet in Dubai on May 29 to discuss the financial losses, which the former side had suffered due to India?s constant refusal to play bilateral series as per agreement signed in 2014.

Earlier this month, the PCB had sent a legal notice to its Indian counterpart, initiating proceedings to seek compensation from the Indian board for failing to honour the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two cricket boards in 2014.

However, the BCCI rejected the same saying that it was only an MoU between the two sides, to which, Shaharyar hit back and said that it was a proper contract signed between the two boards in their bid to revive bilateral ties.

According to sources, PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan, executive committee chairman Najam Sethi and chief operating officer Subhan Ahmad will engage with the BCCI?s delegation led by CK Khanna in the meeting.

The source further revealed that if both the boards fails to reach the conclusion then the matter would be taken before ICC chief executive officer Dave Richardson, while adding that the failure of which as well could force the PCB to take the issue in front of the ICC Dispute Resolution Committee.

?If both the boards fail to reach at any conclusion then a second round of negotiation will be held in the presence of the ICC chief executive officer Dave Richardson on another date. And if the second round fails, then the matter will be referred to the ICC Dispute Resolution Committee,? the Dawn quoted the source as saying.

The PCB is seeking a compensation of USD 69.4 million from India because of the latter?s failure to live up to their commitment.

?The PCB is also seeking recovery for a three-match ODI series which India had to play against Pakistan in the country or at any neutral venue in return of same number of matches Pakistan played in India in 2013 under Misbah-ul-Haq?s captaincy,? sources said.

According to the 2014 agreement, India was scheduled to play six series against Pakistan, four of them were going to be Pakistan's home series.

While the BCCI has repeatedly snubbed Pakistan's request for resumption of ties, the PCB wants the Indian cricket board to honour its commitment of six series between 2015-2023 under the MoU signed, which is subjected to clearance from the Government of India.

Despite not playing a full-fledged bilateral series against Pakistan since the 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai, the arch-rivals have played each other a number of times in the ICC events, with the most recent coming at the 2016 ICC T20 World Cup. However, Pakistan toured India for a short series in December 2012.

69million should be peanuts for BCCI. Hand them over and help Shehry uncle live his last portion of life in peace!

Now that Misbah and YK retired they are ready to play again.

Similar to when Wasim and Waqar retired.

Interesting analogy. However, I don't think they're going to start off by playing a Test series but rather a few LOI matches and Misbah and Younis stopped playing ODI's a couple of years ago.

Regrettably, I don't think this is going to work out, especially in the UAE. Relations between Pakistan and India are getting worse by the day so this is just a waste of time. However, it may be possible that Pakistan play their home series in India and share the profits with India. Now, I'm not against this happening because:

1) India and Pakistan haven't played in a long time and the fans have been deprived of quality cricket.
2) Pakistan already play very few matches per year, especially Tests so the betterment of relations will lead to more Test matches in the future too.

But frankly, it will not only be a dent to Pakistan's integrity after having made so many statements against India but also, India sharing the profits will also starve Pakistan of a lot of revenue that could possibly be made from playing in front of the HUGE expat Sub Continental population.

2023, WC IN INDIA, PCB: If BCCI don't honour MOU, we would pull out, as they didn't tour

Are you serious???? Im all in for playing india, but playing our home series in India???
Im by no means anti-India or whatever, but if we are going to play them it should be a home series in the UAE.

Yeah, that's the thing, which is why I'm also double minded. It's not like we're going to be playing all our home series in India, but I remember India suggesting that we could play our home series vs India in India and BCCI would also get a share of the profit.

Think BCCI doing due diligence - they will be refused by GOI and they will tell ICC etc that GOI wont allow - all a little charade also

See atleast BCCI is trying, now what can they do when relations between the two countries are always unstable?

Don't know why everyone takes a dig at BCCI, they are the most professional Board at the moment. I haven't heard any news that they are unable to lay their players salary. Hopefully we will see a series, OFI or T20, test matches vs Pakistan are very boring.

This is just their way of saying "oh look we tried" so that they avoid any legal action from the PCB. Everybody and their aunt knows that the Government of India will reject it.

Reminded government about Pakistan series 15 days ago: BCCI

A source close to development had earlier said that ICC chief executive Dave Richardson will also attend the meeting in a bid to convince Pakistan to not file a case with the ICC disputes resolution committee against the BCCI

New Delhi, May 25 The BCCI today said it has reminded the government a fortnight ago about the contentious issue of resuming bilateral cricket ties with pakistan.

The Indian Cricket Board and Pakistan Cricket Board are scheduled to meet in dubai later this month to resolve the prevailing bilateral issues.

Like many other board officials in the past, BCCI's acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary too made it clear that the decision to play Pakistan in a bilateral series rests solely with the government.

"There is nothing new in the situation. We had written to the government seeking their permission to play Pakistan three months ago. We issued them a reminder 15 days ago. We are yet to get a reply. Only the government can decide whether we can play Pakistan or not," Choudhary told PTI.

The PCB has sent a notice of intent to the BCCI claiming compensation of around USD 69.4 million for India not honouring the MoU signed between the two boards in 2014 to play six bilateral series between 2015 and 2023.

Under the MoU, Pakistan is supposed to host four of the six series.

A source close to development had earlier said that ICC chief executive Dave Richardson will also attend the meeting in a bid to convince Pakistan to not file a case with the ICC disputes resolution committee against the BCCI.

The fact that BCCI wrote to their government on this clearly shows the legal notice sent by PCB caused some ruffles...

That's all because of CoA which has directed BCCI to clear all issues including those against WICB. Since Dec 2015 PCB is threatening to sue BCCI, then what's stopping them? If one is confident of a win they don't opt for negotiations. Tell me why Sherry uncle said we're ready to play in IND just few days back ?

GOI has autoreply setup for such emails from BCCI.
Its in bold and just one word "NO"

Happy to play now that Misbah and Younis aren't around to put Ashwin in his place :ashwin

By the time BCCi gets response from GOI, Shahryar Khan will give a thousand statements and when GOI refuses, Sharyar Khan will give another thousand statements.

The only thing going on at the moment is firing at the LOC. Forget Cricket with them for the next ten years. If we are not playing them under pro India Nawaz then there is no chance of doing so under anyone else. Hopefully the next government in Pak will be a patriotic one.

Result will be the same what comes out of Pak-India foreign secretary level "talk" on Kashmir every 10 years or so.

Probs the BCCI being firm on future Pak vs Ind series being "non-existent" and the fact that they've never heard of one.

Dramabaazi from both sides. Everyone knows India and Pakistan aren't going to play anytime soon with given right wing govt. is in power.

I see the BCCI loosening their purse as I write this. NOT!
