All the Tests affected are part of the World Test Championship, and the Bangladesh Cricket Board has been working to set a new schedule, and efforts so far have been made by the board to reconfirm the series with Sri Lanka

Bangladesh Cricket Board has been working on recovering the series which were forced to be postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Major part of the world and the sporting activities have been on hold since March this year owing to the novel coronavirus outbreak.

Bangladesh was forced to cancel its five series, both at home and away.

BCB first postponed its final phase of the three-legged tour of Pakistan, which involved the second and last Test match of the series, along with the lone ODI.

Bangladesh then called off its scheduled tour of Ireland for a three-ODI series and four T20Is.

Cricket Australia later called off its tour of Bangladesh for two Tests and this was followed by the BCB and Sri Lanka Cricket agreeing to push back the Tigers’ tour of the island for a three-Test series in July.

New Zealand Cricket meanwhile, postponed its trip to Bangladesh for a two-Test series in August.

All the Tests affected are part of the World Test Championship, and the BCB has been working to set a new schedule, and efforts so far have been made by the board to reconfirm the series with Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh will travel to Sri Lanka later this month for the three-Test series, set to begin on October 24.

“You all know that we were forced to postpone four series [due to the pandemic], against Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Ireland. Other than that we had a Test left to play with Pakistan. This [Test against Pakistan] can be rescheduled easily as it requires a small window. We will discuss that with Pakistan Cricket Board,” said BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury to the media Tuesday.

“With New Zealand, we have discussed about rescheduling the Test series and we have agreed on confirming the series by the middle of next year. Series against Sri Lanka is confirmed already,” the BCB high-up added.

Challenge for the BCB will be to reschedule the two Tests at home against Australia.

Given that the Aussies are one of the top ranked teams, they will surely have a busy schedule once they hit back to the field, and BCB will have to negotiate well for a reschedule.

“We are in discussion with CA and Cricket Ireland. We are trying to have the series against Australia at a suitable time. The thing is, it will not be enough if only we are available; a big team like Australia also needs to have a free schedule,” Nizamuddin explained.

“We will have to reschedule the series against Australia within the International Cricket Council timeline as these matches are part of the WTC. Same goes with Ireland as the ODIs with them are part of the ICC’s ODI competition. We hope to complete these matches within the ICC timeline,” the BCB CEO added.

Good if this happens and hopefully less fuss about travelling to Pakistan.

It would be better if this test match is scheduled before Zimbabwe series
Atleast some of our minnow bashers will score 100s

Hope this is rescheduled soon. Would be nice for some of the players to boost their averages and get back in-form after the England tour.

Arranging/travelling for one Test only is a waste of most precious asset these days - time. Just for 1 Test, they’ll need to travel 14 days earlier for the quarantine period, then may be one practice game - so, basically we are looking for 23-25 days window for just one Test and every country has lots of backlog in their schedule. I think, it’s better to arrange a bunch of games together- one deferred Test, clubbed with May be another Test (outside WTC) and 3-4 ODIs - then that 14 days waste of time is justified. I think BD is travelling to SRL in mid OCT for 3 Tests & 3?T20s, which will cost almost 45 days, while PAK is scheduled to travel NZ - therefore not sure if it’s possible in this Calendar year.

Good point but there is also a one off odi

Bangladesh has a series against Lanka in October-november. If Pakistan is free in December the series should go on.

Btw with winter the risk of Corona is much higher and if Pakistan is to provide presidential security it will be too expensive for them

Pakistan are schedule to play New Zealand in December. Also the seasonal debate on coronavirus has been proven to be a myth by the WHO.

WHO also said masks are not important so I value their opinion as much as I value James Anderson's opinion on batting.

Pakistan need to play more ODIs as well.

Schedule the test, but add 5 ODis. Pakistan would benefit from hopefully playing some youngsters against BD, against a decent team in asian conditions. Would be great for both sides.

14 day quarantine is ridiculous IMO. The virus shows signs in the first 7 days. And these players will be tested multiple times. They should be tested once in BD, those who are negative come over, quarantine 5-7 days with tests again at the end of the quarantine, that's all that should be required.

Bangladesh should finish the tour ASAP. It is just one Test and one ODI. Finish up quickly.

14 days of quarantine + 5 days of Test + 2 days break + 1 day for ODI = 22 days.

Wasim Khan in an interview has indicated that PCB are speaking with the Bangladesh Cricket Board and the Test will most probably be played during this season.

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has informed Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) that the postponed Karachi Test will not be held this season, ARY Sports reported.

According to sources, there is no possibility of playing the remaining Test in 2020 due to the national team’s busy schedule

The scheduled Test match of the two match-Test series was postponed in April due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Tigers were scheduled to arrive in Karachi for a Test and an ODI.

The first Test which was part of the ICC Test Championship was played in Rawalpindi in February along with three T20Is in January.

“After looking at the Pakistan team’s engagements, the Test can be scheduled in 2021-22 season,” PCB.

The national team has a very busy schedule ahead. Pakistan will host Zimbabwe in October-November, the remaining Pakistan Super League (PSL) season five matches, Pakistan’s tour of New Zealand is included in the upcoming schedule.

Home series against South Africa in January 2021, PSL 6 in February-March, Pakistan’s tour of South Africa and Zimbabwe are also included in the schedule.

The Pakistan Cricket team will also travel to England for three-match ODI series next summer.

It must be noted that the ICC Test Championship could further go for another year due to incomplete series between the Test-playing nations.

Karachi, Sep 29 (PTI) The Pakistan Cricket Board has informed its counterparts in Bangladesh that it will not be able to play in the near future the World Championship Test that was postponed in April owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bangladesh had played one Test of the ICC World Championship in Rawalpindi earlier this year and were scheduled to play the remaining matches and a one-off ODI in Karachi in April.

However, due to the pandemic, the PCB was not only forced to suspend its Pakistan Super League T20 but also postpone the engagements against Bangladesh.

A source in the PCB said that it had informed the BCB of the existing situation. Pakistan has a tight international and domestic schedule planned for the team.

'A slot will have to be taken out sometime next year because indications are that the ICC might have to extend its World Championship due to scheduled matches being hit by the COVID-19 in different countries,' the source said.

Even Bangladesh postponed a scheduled tour of Sri Lanka few days ago.

'The schedule is packed and we will now have to find a slot next year, after the England tour, to host the Bangladesh team for one Test and a ODI,' the source added.

World Test Championship (Pak vs Ban)

We have heard alot about the potential tour of SA in Pakistan for 2 matches of WTC but what about the remaining 1 match of Pakistan and Bangladesh?

Hopefully, the Bangladesh match happens so that we can try out some new players and also just get the points. Want to see Zafar Gohar bowling in home conditions instead of Yasir Shah.

They should invite bangladesh for the last test then ask south Africa to tour
