Former Pakistan captain Younis Khan is reportedly the frontrunner to become the new Director of Domestic Cricket, following Abdullah Khurram Niazi’s decision to step down from the role and return to the CDA after completing his deputation, although the PCB has yet to make an official announcement and discussions with Younis are said to be ongoing.

A reliable source aware of the development said PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi was keen on having Younis for the important post of Director Domestic Cricket.

"Khurrum Niazi who is a career bureaucrat and currently heads the domestic department has been posted in Islamabad and will report soon for his new assignment. Which is why the board is looking at Younis to take over as Director Domestic cricket," the source said.
