PCB responds to BCCI/ACC's Jay Shah's remarks on a neutral venue for the Asia Cup in 2023

Are you for real? In that particular series India had almost same players that won them CT 2013 India was lucky to get away with 3-0 defeat in ODIs.. Pakistan team botched an easy chase in Delhi. When India won 4-1 in period of 2017-2019 .. same can be said that India was more established and Pakistan were in transition phase. CT final win alone makes up for additional 2 meaningless wins for India. 2019 win did nt translate into cup for India. Asia cup wins came on back of poor team selection on part of Pakistan. Indians keep boosting about post 2003 era as dominant phase over Pakistan but thats not true. india was never able to dominate Pakistan post 2003 wc as Pakistan dominated India post 1986 Miandad's two sixes. That domination phase of Pakistan went on for about 15 years. Where we would win 70% of matches against India. If you dig up some stats , 2003-2015 head to head games are evenly won by both sides. May be one extra game by India in both tests and ODi. T20Is only series India played was drawn. Thats why Indians dnt talk about head to head to establish their superiority in cricket.. all they talk about is world cup games . Even winning 12-1 over 3 decades could nt reduce the gap in head to head , such was domination of Pakistan team over India in 90s. No point in Assuming Pakistan would have lost the series played over period 2013-2021 against india. Playing an odd game in world cup gives advantage to india because Pakistan is known to loose against sides which they have played less to no cricket.. but if regular cricket was played berween India Pakistan, im pretty sure Pakistan's head to head lead would have survived

After the Pakistan series, India selected Dhawan and Rohit as its new opening pair and over the next 10 years, they were part of the most prolific top three in ODI history. Dhawan was the top scorer in the CT. Opening with Dhawan and Rohit transformed the Indian ODI team after the Tendulkar, Sehwag and Gambhir era ended.

Pakistan is always in transition phase because it is a mentally weak and mediocre team that always struggles to field a proper team with several world class players. There is a reason why Pakistan get smashed in bilateral ODI series against the big teams 99% of the time.

Pakistan is a cup team that flukes a one-off win every now and then but gets outclassed by Australia, England, New Zealand etc. over the course of a series.

The last time Pakistan won an ODI series against England was in 2005. The last time Pakistan won an ODI series against Australia was in 2002. The record against NZ is not much better either. Pakistan plays regular bilateral ODI cricket against these teams and the lack of talent and skill is always exposed.

Pakistan is a pathetic ODI team and slightly better in Tests and T20Is in favorable conditions. There is no doubt that if Pakistan and India were to play regular bilateral cricket over the last decade, Pakistan would have been humiliated left, right and center across all formats.

BCCI has saved PCB's dignity by rejecting bilateral ties. We need to be thankful.

And India responds to Pakistan's response....

India today reacted sharply to Pakistan's threat to pull out of the ICC World Cup next year in a row over the Asia Cup. "You can't ignore India," Sports Minister Anurag Thakur said, asserting that "all top teams" will come to the country for the World Cup.

"The ODI World Cup will take place next year in India and all big teams around the globe will take part in it. Because you can't ignore India in any sport. India has contributed a lot to sports, especially cricket. What is cricket without India," the Sports Minister said.

The row started after Asian Cricket Council chief Jay Shah said on Tuesday that India will not travel to Pakistan for next year's Asia Cup and that the tournament could be shifted to a neutral venue.

Anurag Thakur said the home ministry would decide on the cricket team's travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup. "Possibilities are always there. Who thought there will be COVID-19? Anything can happen but the chances (of Indian team travelling to Pakistan) are not much. It's a decision that will be taken by the home ministry. Overall, players' safety and security is an important matter," said the minister, according to PTI.

Jay Shah's statement has triggered strong reactions from the Pakistani cricket community. Pakistan has been hosting top international teams at home since last year. Teams like Australia and England have toured the country recently. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said Jay Shah's comments were unilateral and could "split" the international cricket community. It also said moving the Asia Cup out of Pakistan "could impact future events in India" like the World Cup."

The overall impact of such statements have the potential to split the Asian and international cricketing communities and can impact Pakistan's visit to India for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 and future ICC Events in India in the 2024-2031 cycle," PCB said in its statement.

The clash comes days before India and Pakistan play in the opening match of the Twenty20 World Cup in Melbourne on Sunday.

Bilateral cricket remains suspended between India and Pakistan who play each other only in multi-team tournaments.

India had last toured Pakistan for a bilateral series in 2005-06 under the leadership of Rahul Dravid. The estranged neighbours have not played a bilateral cricket series since 2012-13 when Pakistan had toured India for three T20Is and as many ODIs.

Ties between India and Pakistan have been strained over Kashmir and cross-border terrorism from Pakistan. Bilateral relations between the two nosedived after terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir that India says involved Pakistan-based terror outfit

PCB should not let the Indians pull out at the last minute. Get this sorted out now asap.

If Pakistan after so many years couldnt manage to sort "Kashmir conflict" begging to int sena countries for help, howcome Ramiz will manage to put pressure on India on this.
Here is the reality Pak is in no position to dictate, better listen to Thakur and Shah and play cricket or face the concequences:ravi

We will face the consequences. Bring it on

Pakistan fans are naive or they are acting that way. There is no chance an Indian cricket team will tour Pakistan in the near future.

It has nothing to do with India not wanting Pakistan to make money, it’s to do with the BJP’s ideology and what Pakistan represents to them and their people. Modi is never going to shoot himself in the foot by allowing the Indian national team to visit the ‘enemy’ shores.

I’m sure Rameez is smart enough to realize that and is just doing this for show. Throwing toys out of the pram won’t achieve much here.

It will show self respect. Ramiz has the support of the people of Pakistan and he should stick to the stance demanded by the people of Pakistan.

At least do some research, Pakistan just beat Australia in a ODI series this year:)))

And as for being a pathetic ODI team, we are ranked no. 4 by the ICC which is respectable.

What heat will PCB turn on?

Lets assume Pakistan doesn't turn up for the WC 23.

ICC will have 2 options

1. Shift WC out of India, thereby playing a WC without India. You think ICC will risk India's participation, for pakistan's sake?

2. Play the WC without pakistan and deduct their proprtional share from the ICC revenues.

Which one appears plausible?

The ICC will only hold a WC with both nations participating and will mediate between both boards arriving at a solution

Pakistan should not travel to India for the World Cup, citing valid security reasons. Asia Cup should be shifted to the UAE, while we are well within our rights to not India due to our players not being safe in that country.

There is no use crying and screaming about the world being unfair, it is and our so called administrators are responsible for the mess we are in right now. You cannot expect the world to respect you, when you don’t respect yourself and create a brand out of the second biggest market for cricket in the world. Become a brand yourself and then you won’t really have to demand respect, it will be well deserved and earned.

This certain poster has a habit of typing nonsense and then getting embarrassed and disappear when you bring out facts. Pakistan is no walk in the park team in ODIs, and in last 10-15 years have been evenly matched against India. I mean how many times one has to remind them of what happened in the final of CT when both team played? Ya I recall one team getting humiliation and losing by 180 runs. This is just to remind since he's referring to recent period.

One is only fooling himself if they think Pak-India bilateral ODI would have been easy for India to win. Pakistan has dominated India for many decades, they even stopped playing us citing all kind of rubbish back then for losing majority of the games, stopped playing in Sharjah since they used to lose it all there :))..... and when India finally became stronger after 2000s, they still couldn't dominate Pakistan.

This is the same logic of becoming a brand which has killed cricket in West Indies. Its ICC's job to make sure to look after the well being of only a handful of countries that even play cricket. I do agree winning makes your case stronger but in terms of ethics and morals, it doesn't stand ground. Greed and becoming a brand first has led to game losing its charm among several teams. ICC is a terrible sporting body and has contributed to demise of cricket.

Is there a ground in Srinagar?

Then it could work.

There is a multiplex that just opened. Too soon for cricket. It’s not that easy to host in such sensitive areas. I am sure people in Pakistan would know a thing or 2 about that. It Karachi and Lahore need snipers and the whole marine corps than not sure Srinagar would be a great idea in the current scenario.

There is no way that was a question coming from a place of logic and common sense

Just asking my pakistani counterparts a hypothetical question out of curiosity. If Israel hosts a multi team event will pakistan ever send its team? Or if Pakistan gets to host a world event will it issue visas to the Israeli athlete?

Is there a ground in Srinagar?

Then it could work.

I am sure there was a ground because in the late 80s when insurgency and terrorism was at its peak there was a match between India and West Indies where the whole hostile crowd was supporting West Indies. In fact i think Richards even commented like it felt like they were playing at home. That might have been the last international match there.

But things are changing now. J&K has its team in Ranji represented by players like umran malik, abdul samad etc even playing in IPL and representing India. Also a multiplex has now been opened. So maybe in 5-10 years Srinagar may infact host a match.

I don't think Pakistani players or the rest of the Asia cup sides would need security there. Maybe Indian side might.

We would enjoy tremendous local support.

If you guys want Pakistan to play a 'home' tournament in India seems like a good option for all sides.

It will show self respect. Ramiz has the support of the people of Pakistan and he should stick to the stance demanded by the people of Pakistan.

Now this is a valid post. I think people have turned this into BCCI and India bashing. I mean it’s not new but there are l plenty of other threads for that I would take a guess :)

Anyway simple

India won’t travel to Pakistan so they use their leverage to avoid that by trying to get the venue changed.

India will play Pakistan in ICC tournament.

There is nothing complicated about that

So Pakistan’s options are not to travel to India for the worldcup or doing the same thing India is doing by getting the World Cup venue changed.

Or

Going ahead with Asia cup minus India.

Unless there is another solution, that’s about it.

I personally think BCCI will throw in a bone to PCB because it has gone too far to back off now. They might give a quick 3 match t20 series in UAE or something with a good profit share and things will work themselves out.

Only extreme scenario is if the powers that he speak to the powers that be which are more powerful than BCCI leave alone PCB to work something out to let everything go as planned. There is at best a 10% chance of that happening. Wouldn’t bet on it.

Just asking my pakistani counterparts a hypothetical question out of curiosity. If Israel hosts a multi team event will pakistan ever send its team? Or if Pakistan gets to host a world event will it issue visas to the Israeli athlete?

Pakistan doesn't recognise Israel as a country.

If India similarly says they do not recognise Pakistan as a country then there would be parallels between your hypothetical question and the topic and hand.

Lol at "you can't ignore India in any sport"..these guys are so full of themselves I can't even lmao

I wonder what will happen to the FIFA world cup this year as India is not perticipating..oh my thinking about it I am sure Messi,Ronaldo etc are losing their sleep

Excuse me? We dont give two hoots if India is coming or not. The Asia Cup needs to happen in Pakistan with or without India - thats our prerogative. If India doesnt visit, they should expect the same in kind.

I don't think he is wrong at all
I live in srinagar so i know a lot and i know people will actually support pakistan in a stadium.
I don't think people from outside kashmir will even get tickets to watch in a stadium.

India have made it clear that they won't travel to Pakistan.

Now the ball is in Pcb's court.

They should
1. Play the Asia Cup at home without India.
and also
2. Boycott the 2023 world cup in India .

Let's see if both PCB and Rameez have the ballz to do any of these two. Eagerly waiting for Rameez bhai's Next move!

The BCCI can't take a call on its own on whether the Indian team will travel to Pakistan for the 2023 Asia Cup or not as it relies on the government to make such decisions, new Board president Rogery Binny said on Thursday. Speaking at an event organised by Karnataka State Cricket Association in Bengaluru, Binny said the BCCI has not approached the government yet on travelling to Pakistan next year but eventually the central government will only decide on the matter.

"That is not BCCI's call. We need government's clearance to leave the country. Whether we leave the country or teams coming into the country, we need clearance. Once we get clearance from the government then we go with it. We can't make decision on our own. We have to rely on the government. We have not approached them yet," said Binny, member of India's 1983 World Cup winning-team.

The Asia Cup is scheduled to be played in Pakistan in September next year, ahead of the ODI World Cup in India.

Binny's comments came after BCCI secretary Jay Shah said the Indian team will not travel to Pakistan next year for the Asia Cup and will instead like to play the tournament at a neutral venue.

Earlier on Thursday, Sports Minister Anurag Thakur said the Indian team will need clearance from the Home Ministry to travel to Pakistan.

A 'disappointed' Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday requested the Asian Cricket Council to convene an emergency meeting.

Referring to Shah's comment, the PCB had said that "such statements can spilt the Asian and international cricket communities" and impact Pakistan's visit to India for the 2023 World Cup.

India haven't travelled to Pakistan since the 2008 Asia Cup, and after the Mumbai terror attack on November 26 that year, the scheduled bilateral series in early 2009 was cancelled.

Pakistan did travel to India for a short six-match white-ball series in 2012, but in the last 10 years, there hasn't been any bilateral cricket. The two teams have only played each other at various ICC and ACC events.

Based on what thakur is saying it looks like India will probably come up with some kind of resolution. Jay shah bowled a no ball and now GOI must try to fix it. I don't think they expected such a big threat from PCB.

Lol, looks like India is already squirming. They've essentially said that "We'll think about it" after this Jay guy had earlier claimed that India would not be travelling to Pakistan.

I expect them to come. There is a lot of money on the line here with India hosting the next World Cup and potentially, a lot of bad press if Pakistan end up boycotting the tournament.

India will travel to Pakistan or they will offer concessions to the PCB which could include a full bilateral series in the UAE, that Pakistan will get to host.

If India does come to Pakistan

PCB should pay Dwayne Johnson whatever he asks for to deliver a promo before the Pakistan v India match….

“Fiiinally

INDIA HAS COME BACK…..

To PaaKistaaaaaan”

The crowd would roaaar!

Confusion

Are they coming or not?

We have only heard response from their authority so far as "no one can play without India", "no one can make India play wherever", "it can not be played anywhere else other than India", "India is the best, shinning India, incredible India" etc etc and other typical spoiled brat childish response from them.

Rameez must stand his ground. Pakistan can't be pushed around anymore. These delusional folks who say nothing will happen have a built in mentality of bending over backwards for the so called Lords. Give them wood regularly and they will start behaving or they will only make it worse with their arroangance.

My guess is the inexperienced Jay Shah talked out of turn. Or maybe they wanted to gauge the reaction. PCB did what was expected. The full series hosted by PCB in UAE has been on the talks for almost an year and half. However, it can happen only after the Indian elections in 2024. I expect Asia cup at a neutral venue, Pak visiting India for the WC and a full series in UAE hosted by PCB.

This is a genuine question - Do our Indian posters here believe that Jay Shah is appointed on merit or nepotism because of his father?

His statement was that of quite an unskilled person, something like Ijaz Butt would say.

Indian administrators are usually more skilled than this.

Why can't BCCI send Indian team for a tournament in Pakistan? Developed countries like Eng and Aus had no problem in sending their teams to Pakistan recently. Are we intentionally doing it so that other teams stop touring Pakistan again? BCCI has started acting like a bully lately and it needs to be stopped. All this money and power has gone to their heads and some shameless people who call themselves cricket fans are supporting them blindly. :facepalm :inti

Thankfully Pakistan Super League is growing at tremendous pace and the security situation is improving continuously also the franchises like LQ have done immense grass root work and talent hunt & development program completely following the football model Aaqib Javed has been revolutionary in this aspect
Who needs international cricket which is poisoned and a charade
In near future Pakistan should focus on Red ball cricket and pyjama formats, if Pakistan is sidelined ICC will lose a market of 24+million people

I have stopped taking Mamoon's opinions on cricket seriously. He has seriously gotten deranged when it comes to one upping his fellow Pakistanis.

Personally I would like PCB to continue with Asia Cup in Pakistan without India's participation and then travel to India for world cup.

I don't think it will end up as a huge loss infact given PCB has not hosted India v Pakistan game for over a decade now this will not make a massive difference to their books. However it will send a message that Pakistan cricket belongs in Pakistan which is the correct way to go. Post that Pakistan team can participate in the WC in India with no issues or concerns.

Absolutely agree with it.

Lots and lots of wisdom behind this approach if one thinks with his brain instead of knee jerk reactions sourced from obsession of inviting India to Pak.

There is a long term and better benefit if we follow this approach.

There are two important pieces behind it though.

1 - Pakistan and PCB must not, and I repeat MUST NOT, give statements after statements and run around like a headless chicken if India doesn't visit Pak. Stay supercool, hold your nerves and keep your mouths tightly shut!
Just one official statement to announce the Asia Cup schedule without India.
And this is it!

All questions asked by all journalists and whatnot, regarding India not participating in Asia cup, should be answered with one simple uniform answer, "You will need to contact BCCI to get the answer to that".
This is # 1.

Number 2
Do NOT, and I repeat, DO NOT force India to visit Pakistan. Do not try to create a drama and keep on blabbering and involve ICC or whoever the EFF ever to convince India to visit Pakistan. Absolutely not!

The reason is, the more you try to influence them, the harder their resistance will become. Just leave it alone. Put them on the ignore button and move on with your business. As simple as that.

Visit India for WC, give your best and get your share of money from ICC.

BCCI and the fascist India govt can go EFF themselves if they don't wanna visit Pakistan. Who cares?

India will travel to Pakistan or they will offer concessions to the PCB which could include a full bilateral series in the UAE, that Pakistan will get to host.

Only one of two things is going to happen:

1. India pulls out of Asia Cup and it continues without them.
2. Asia Cup is moved out of Pakistan.

Once in a blue moon occurrences are sometimes easy to forget.

Congratulations to Pakistan for winning an ODI series against a second string Australian attack after 20 years.

BCCI should honor this achievement by touring Pakistan.

Except if broadcasters, sponsors etc. pull out too and then it really hurts the member boards, and then they begin pressuring PCB to move the tournament to UAE.

We will cross that bridge when we come to it.

For now, I would like BCC/Fascist Indian govt, to announce their omission from the Asia cup. That will be really nice to see.

I won't mind if that happens. I'd take a full series of Indo-Pak matches over a couple of ODIs anyways. How long has it been since they played a test match against each other?

Once in a blue moon occurrences are sometimes easy to forget.

Congratulations to Pakistan for winning an ODI series against a second string Australian attack after 20 years.

BCCI should honor this achievement by touring Pakistan.

It was definitely not a second string team.

The point is, you were factually wrong in your mundane commentary. Now don’t try to change the topic.

Who cares?

Yes, and focus on making lengthening PSL to almost like a NBA season or baseball season.

Rest of the time is international cricket and tests.

Why could nt you stick to Indi Vs Pakistan??? No response there... fair enough.. Pakistan was first Asian Team to win CB tri series against very strong West Indian team and Australian team in 96. Then Pakistan was first Asian team to beat Invincible Aussies in their backyard in 2002. That Aussie team was at its peak.
Lets talk about Nz. It took NZ 30 plus years to beat Pakistan in test cricket at home back in 2016. Pakistan has best head to head record among all Asian teams in New Zealand.

Lets talk about England , we beat them in three consecutive test series in England back in 87 , 92 and 96.. 2001 test series was drawn. 2016 was drawn. 2018 was drawn. So Pakistan has best test record in England among all Asian teams. Yes India has better odi record

Lets talk about south Africa. We beat peak south Africa in South Africa back in 2013 and firsr asian team to do so. And we are only asian team to win two odi series in south Africa.

Dude you have no idea what are you even talking about and just going with verbal vitriol here.

Pakistan should host the asia cup with or without india

If india wants to pull out and sit at home its upto them

This. If BCCI wants to pull out its their choice. No one is stopping PCB from sticking to its guns. Maybe some of the guys here should email their support to RR for this cause.

Would be a real shame if after all the bravado the PCB caves abd shifts asia cup out of Pakistan.

This is a genuine question - Do our Indian posters here believe that Jay Shah is appointed on merit or nepotism because of his father?

His statement was that of quite an unskilled person, something like Ijaz Butt would say.

Indian administrators are usually more skilled than this.

Even a blind man can see it's nepotism.

PCB should make arrangements and be prepared to have an Asia Cup without India. Do not shift the tournament out of Pakistan at all. Just one statement that the Asia Cup is being held in Pakistan and that's final. If India doesn't want to come, no problem but the Asia Cup will go ahead in Pakistan as per schedule.

Salman Butt:

“Pehle mujhe ye bataayein, kya ICC exist karta hai? Kya vaakayi me vo koi neutral umpire hai? Kya influence nahi hota udhar? Kya heavyweight nahi hai India because they bring more financial backup to the ICC? More than anybody else? (Firstly tell me, does ICC even exist? Is it neutral? Is there no influence there? Is India not the heavyweight there because they bring more financial backup to ICC?)"

“Jab aisa hota hai, tab time to time you see muscle. Jahan se revenue aata hai, vahan se vo apni chaahat ke hisaab se decisions liye jaate hain. Poori duniya me hota hai ye. It all depends jab ICC me ye meeting hui thi, Jay Shah hi preside kar rahe the, aur ussi me Pakistan ko award hua tha Asia Cup, uss time unhone kya kaha tha, ye voi jaanta hai jo uss meeting me tha. (You see their muscle on things like these. Those who bring revenue have more power. It happens everywhere. When Jay Shah presided the ICC meeting, it was decided that Pakistan will host Asia Cup. What he said then, is something only those who can attend the meeting can tell)”

“Ab jab unhone naa kar di hai, ye expected decision tha. Iska hal bhi pehle se kar lena chahiye tha. Baar baar iss cheez ki taraf sabko draw kiya jaata hai. Iss se behetar hai ki cricket ho, taaki dono taraf ke cricket lovers iss se affect naa ho. Fans ka nuksaan naa ho, cricketers ka nuksaan naa ho. Agar political tensions hai, toh dono ek doosre ki taraf naa khelein. Lekin ye nahi hai ki Pakistan jaaye, par vo naa aaye. Ye strength PCB ko dikhaani hai, abhi ye mauka hai, vo dikhaayein. (It was expected that India would say no. The solution to it should've been decided earlier. This happens everytime. The focus should be on the cricket so that fans and cricketers don't get affected. If there are political tensions, both teams should avoid touring one another. It shouldn't be that Pakistan tour India, but the latter doesn't come to Pakistan. PCB should show some strength, this is their chance.)"

Yes, and focus on making lengthening PSL to almost like a NBA season or baseball season.

Rest of the time is international cricket and tests.

That's 6-8 months season. Franchise cricket for that long year after year with only 6 teams is not feasible and would just devalue the product. You're not getting foreign players to play for that long either and if they're not playing, then its just a domestic tournament.

As to this situation, it's going to be interesting what happens next. Could see it get real ugly if PCB takes a hard stance. As a fan, the outcome would be disappointing no matter who you root for. I just want to see Pakistan & India play more cricket.

Pakistani folks are unnecessarily getting worked out. Too many statements are coming from their chairman, ex cricketers etc. It appears to me they have taken the statement of Jay Shah by heart and looking it as nationalist/prestige issue.

It is time for some rational thinking. India hosted the Asia cup 2018 in UAE and SLCB did the same this year. PCB can also easily do the same i.e host in neutral venue and keep all the hosting right/profit etc. But no, we ofcourse have to do fake posturing.

As I and other Indian posters alluded too, Indian national team won't be travelling to Pakistan and that is for sure. It is a directive given by GOI and home ministry. There is absolutely nothing Jay Shah, Anurag Thakur or BCCI can do about it. With general elections in 2024, it will be suicidal move.So this geo political stance wont change.

Now if PCB takes hard stance, there will surely be few impacts cricket wise and some will affect BCCI as well. Like if PCB pulls out of WC 2023 it will have some financial implications etc. And those are the hits BCCI have to take unfortunately just bcoz PCB is hurt and throwing toys out of the pram for hosting Asia cup in neutral venue, something both Ind and SL recently.

But the overall the geo political stance of Indian team wont travel to Pakistan remains intact. There was never any doubt about it.

What about the opinion of the other boards? They also have a say and right.

No Warner, no Smith, no Maxwell, no Starc, no Cummins and no Hazlewood and it was definitely not a second string team. :)))

Pakistan’s bilateral ODI record against the top teams is horrible and there is no denying that.

I was talking about Pakistan’s record against the major teams in bilateral ODI cricket. It has been beyond horrible in the last 15-20 years. The stats are in font of you. If you want to live in denial that is your choice. There is a reason why Pakistani fans are known to be the most delusional in the world.

You forgot to list Pakistan cricket’s greatest achievement: the last time Pakistan did not lose a Test match in Australia, Javed Miandad was still playing international cricket. :)))

I think you are in denial. I gave you all the stats you needed. Except winning a test match in Australia , which can also be explained by saying we have nt played as much cricket in Australia compared to India or England , we have pretty much won everything. Like we have only toured twice post 2010 for 5 test matches whereas India have played 12 test matches in same period says a lot.

You are conveniently ignoring the wins as one off. How is winning 3 consecutive test series in england one off? How is that we did nt lose test series in New zealand for 30 plus years and its still one off?

How is that we have won 2 odi series and 2 t20 series in south Africa and its still one off according to you?

We have won an icc trophy every decade starting 90s and its called one off?

We could have probably win 99 wc as well easily if not for fixing curse. Or we could have broken Aussie test winning streak in sydney if we did nt have criminals in team. But thats a debate of integrity and not the ability

From 2011 to 2020 England could only win one tesr series against us in 2020 be it at home or away. And we botched that opportunity by failing to get tail out in first test.

We can take you for anything but serious

I like your "jazba&junoon"
but Shah and Thakur dont only talk they believe on actions, they do what they want. They can gave lucrative deals to ICC and other countries. Do you think Pakistan can compete with that? Do you think other countries will make big bro with dollars in pocket angry?
I hope Ramiz is not "jazbati" like you and use his brain, and obey what India wants:ravi

Don’t worry about winning Test matches in Australia. First develop the talent, skill and mentality to draw a Test match in Australia.

Since winning in Sydney in 1995, Pakistan have lost every single Test match in Australia. A 100% losing record. Even Law of Averages has failed in front of Pakistan’s mediocrity.

Ian Chappell was right, Pakistan does not deserve to a play a single Test match in Australia.

You need to develop mentality to make a proper argument.. your arguments work like stray dogs.. not sticking to the topic and bringing irrelevant failures to prove your point since discussion was about india vs Pak.. but ready to ignore historical wins as one off. No one says or believes that Pakistan is world class team.. we are also not mediocre either.. but your head can't process these facts.. you always talk about India being better than Pakistan in cricket achievements but no facts to support this claim.. i bet your so called talented and skilful indian team if deprived of home cricket for 10 years will languish at bottom of table.. same is true for SENA world class teams

Pakistan’s bilateral ODI record against the top teams is horrible?

So if bilateral record against India is better then can we go by your logic and say India is a horrible team and not a top team? :)

Yep now you can list out more excuses, I mean your usual rona dhona to defend your beloved country

Despite all posturing by PCB - which ofcourse they have to do - reality is Asia Cup is an unviable tournament without India- Pak matches.

So if India is not coming to Pak (which is 99.99% sure) then the tournament gets scrapped because it's not in Paks financial interest to stage a dud trophy.

And Pak is not pulling out of WC wherever it's held else they forfeit money - which they can I'll afford. It is easy to spout rhetoric about national pride, fan support but end of the day financial considerations trump all.

The problem with BJP fans is that they only mention the downsides for Pakistan, not the downsides for ICC and/or BCCI. A disproportionate amount of WC revenue is earned from that one India-Pakistan game. Pakistan not participating in WC will impact revenue earned by ICC significantly.

And this is the problem that BJP cronies fail to ever mention. They only ever mention the downsides for Pakistan, as if no one else faces any repercussions.

Can you show that a disproportionate amount of WC revenue is earned from 1 match? A source to confirm the same please.

India doesn't play a single series with Pakistan and no pakistani plays in the IPL, yet BCCI earns more money than IPL, as the Indian market is funding these. Why won't the same apply to a WC held in India?

As for the IPL v/s WC thing, because you are again comparing apples to oranges.

Thread is to be kept connected with CRICKET only.

Leave out all political arguments for TPS threads.

Then why BCCI keeps accepting same grouping with Pakistan in literally every icc tournament? Indian argument is they dnt want to play Pakistan at all , and then talk about 2 points in icc events which does nt have to be the case since BCCI can influence icc to keep India and Pakistan in separate group at least ??? Hypocrites... pretty sure you wont give answer to this.. but as for numbers... any India vs Pakistan match brings in 120-150 CR INR in ad revenue for Indian Broadcasters alone who bid Billions of Dollars $ for media rights over multiple tournaments... thats just ad revenue.. then there is licensing to other media houses as well

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday said India should not play a cricket match with Pakistan in Australia when it has decided against sending the team to play in Pakistan. The Hyderabad MP's statement came days ahead of the India-Pakistan T20 World Cup match in Australia's Melbourne.

Addressing a party event, Owaisi said, "Why are you now playing the cricket match with Pakistan tomorrow? Nahi khel na tha. No, we won't go to Pakistan, but we will play with them in Australia. What will happen if you don't play with Pakistan? A loss of Rs 2,000 crore? But is it more than what India matters? Leave, don't play."

Owaisi was referring to the BCCI secretary Jay Shah's announcement that the Indian team would not travel to Pakistan to play the Asia Cup, which triggered a pushback from the Pakistan Cricket Board. The PCB threatened not to participate in the World Cup in India.

Asaduddin Owaisi said he wants India to win the game on October 23 and wants Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj to do their best to "crush Pakistan", but called out trolling of Muslim players if India loses a game of cricket.

"These people will thump their chest if India wins and if India loses, they will start finding whose fault it was. What's your problem? This is cricket. You have a problem with our hijab, with our beard and also with our cricket," he said.

India captain Rohit Sharma was asked a question regarding the issue in the press conference he attended on Saturday and the player said that the Indian team is focusing on T20 World Cup and their upcoming match against Pakistan on October 23.

"My take is let's focus on this World Cup, because it is important for us. We are not worried about what's going to happen later. There is no point thinking about it, the BCCI will make decisions on that. We are just thinking about being focused on tomorrow's game," said Rohit.

You cannot prove this because this isn't true.

ICC rights are sold as a composite tender, so there is no separate right for a Indo Pak encounter.

Pakistan is revenue wise not a big market.

As per PCB chairman, 90 per cent of ICC revenues come from the Indian market.

Add to that England and Australia.

Rest is shared between the other countries.

So How much is pakistan contributing? 2 per cent? Or less?

If i go by the 2014 ICC paper, it listed India's contribution at over 80 per cent, the next was 5 per cent.

As long as India England Australia are playing, more than 90 per cent of ICC revenues are secured.

Next time dont make claims you cannot back up with a credible source.

BCCI cannot and should not influence who they play in a ICC tournament. That is cheating.

A broadcaster pays bcci 13mn usd for a IPL match and 9 million usd for a bilateral series match. Now think how much this 120 to 150cr matters to Bcci that they will bend for PCB or Pakistan.

Do you think India Pakistan matches are exciting and should keep happening?

What is your personal opinion?

If it happens its ok, if it doesn't i am fine with it.

Regards to the issue at hand

If India doesn't travel to Pakistan, Asia cup should go ahead without India, provided that majority of members agree.

If Pakistan doesn't travel to India, WC should be held in India and Pakistan should lose the proportionate portion of their ICC revenue share. Again subject to majority members agreeing.

A disproportionate amount of WC revenue is earned from that one India-Pakistan game.

A lot of revenue is drawn from the game but it certainly isn't "disproportionate". The matches drawing the most revenue are India matches in general and more so the knockout stage matches involving India. So a QF, SF, Final match with India in it draw a lot of money.

The tournament can do without India-Pakistan. It can't do without India though. ICC needs India as they draw the most money, and that is proven by the fact that even the IPL broadcast rights were sold for a larger sum than the ICC broadcast rights.

Convenient answer. You guys talk about how powerful BCCI is and will influence ICC on different matters. But cant ask for different group other than Pakistan? This is nt called cheating.. why then icc is compelled to put India Pakistan together every tournament? Why not other teams get same treatment? Believe me if Indians dnt want to play Pakistan, we are also not very interested..for indians its probably all about Who has bigger pocket but for Pakistanis they want cricket to be played at home when scheduled and not go to neutral venue.. awarding hosting rights with unanimous decision in Acc board meeting is also called cheating and hypocrisy.. why not ask pcb to schedule India matches at neutral venue lets say Dhaka or Colombo instead of announcing change of venue ?? BCCI just wants to hurt PCB .. now you say BCCI should not influence ICC , i hope you guys keep the same stance and come here to play ct 2025 as your sports Minister Thakur as per his words expects all qualifying teams to come for wc 2023 but i very much doubt that.
