I have just joined a cricket acadmey in rawalpindi and i am 16. Is this a good age to start cricket and can i make it to the national side because i have seen players starting their careers at the age of 13 or 14. Is it the right age to start. Plss answer guys.

There is no right and wrong age. Obviously you'd be miles away from the national side but if you keep doing better than players around your age then you'll gradually work your way up. Others will probably have a head start as they have a few years experience but there's no reason why a player who joins the game late (not that 16 is late) can't do well. Look at Mohammad Irfan for example.

immi.jaaan how do you join academy? How much do you pay, and do you need experience aswell?

i'm also planning on joing some academy in Pindi

Umesh Yadav first played with a leather ball when he was nearly 20 years old. He used to play local tennis ball cricket in a state with very poor domestic cricket infrastructure and Umesh had no family support (his father was a coal miner in local mine). He later joined Vidarbha when he turned 20 (one of the worst Ranji teams in India) and this was 2008.

In summer 2010 he made his ODI debut for Team India.

Sky is the limit!

There's no perfect age. People could start as late as 22 but still get into professional cricket. It's all about work ethic and developing your skills. Obviously, a younger age means who will be exposed more to the sport and gain experience.

you have no problem with the age. Just give proper time to Cricket and do not lose your focus. All the very best

If you are a batsmen its better when you are younger, if you are a bowler, like Kiri said, its you hard work and willingness. If you can master your spin, which will be a bit tough, you can climb the ranking easily and create a big impression. 15-16 year old kids use to bash me for 4s and 6s 2 years ago, last year only a Canadian cricketer managed to smash me, its bit improvement hey.

every age is a good age if you work hard and got talent you will definitely improve just dont think about these things and enjoy your game do not consider it as your profession because it will become automatically if you are good enough.
