What's new

Peshawar Zalmi [122/4] cruise to 6 wicket win over Islamabad United [118/10] in PSL 6

Asif has stuck to his guns and that has served him well in domestic t20s well.

Don't know why Talat keeps making a fool out of himself by trying to play reverse sweep. Have seen him get out to it twice in last few innings. No control over that shot. Should only bring a shot out when he has practiced it enough in the nets.

The famous finisher has basically finisher IUs chances of getting 150 here

Still furious about the Shadab and Faheem promotions. They are a big reason why we are in this situation. I hope we don't make the same mistake in the next match.

Butler and Generator are the last hope

I just realised, one over Gohar isn’t playing today

Asif Ali hitting the ball in the air just for a single when we are 7 down and someone said he can play the Jos Buttler role .

It's not a rough phase for him, it's like he's forgotten how to bowl. Successful players keep adding new stuff to their bowling whereas Shadab has been at a standstill since his debut. Now the batters have been treating him with disdain. As a batter, he has never been a technical textbook but relies on his hand eye coordination and the lack of development of basics of batting has been costing him.

Variations of leggies generally do get found out and then you need to have much better control over lengths, flight and variations which Shadab hasnt been recently. As an example Kuldeep Yadav had an extraordinary start but, his performances have gone down hugely as well so this happens with leggies/spinners but, yes he will have to work really hard.

I have seen that Asif Ali dismissal so many times.

So many mental midgets in Pakistan cricket domestic ranks

Need to play 2-3 overs sensibly and then try to go for it

India have barely been playing Kuldeep in international games of late. Chahal, Jadeja and Ashwin, Patel,Sundar etc have been getting a go ahead of him in all formats. Meanwhile we recently gave him temporary captaincy and promoted him to no4 in t20is. Don't know if he's been putting time and effort in bowling practice or not. Too much responsibility and fame this early can destroy a young cricketer especially a Pakistani one.

The only batters in pak who look of international standard in the white ball game are babar, hafeez and Rizwan.

The Asif Ali, Shoaib maqsood, Talat, iftikhar, Haider may come of now an again but none of them are the type to score consistently as they just don't have it technically

Wahab is such a jekyl and hyde bowler, one day brilliant one day awful.
I do not want to see Asif or Iftikhar anywhere near Pak team, one(Asif) can only hit big shots the other gets caught everytime he goes big

Terrible effort from IU.

Poor running between the wickets, a lack of strike-rotation and they've looked like a team without any direction.

Today was a good chance to see if Chacha/Asif/Talat belonged in the middle order for Pakistan in the T20 set-up as there will be a good chance we will be 50 odd for 4 and will need someone to help take us to a respectable total and they all failed...none of them should be near the Pakistan set-up

Kuldeep is almost finished now, Indian management has moved ahead of him. I do not see him breaking into the team in any format.

Shadab is a good limited-overs bowler, I do not think he is Test Material. The problem with him is that he does not know his stronger suit is bowling or batting, management is confusing him. I think he should concentrate hard on his bowling, whatever batting capacity he has that is fine , but if I am in management I would want to extract at least 7 - 8 overs off him in every game.

All three are hyped mediocre players, they will never be consistent at the International level. Pakistan selectors should look for the next group of untested players and give them opportunities. Give opportunities to those players who want to take their games to next level.

Umaid Asif tries to act like Dwayne Bravo and Chris Gayle on the field despite the absence of an international and noteworthy domestic career.

Another day, another endorsement of the mediocrity of Iftikhar and Asif Ali. Thing is that is what is there currently. Time for maybe developing guys like Mohammad Haris and co in such roles and carry out eventual transition in domestic circuit.

Don't know much about Kuldeep but Shadab isn't giving an impression of having a good career afterwards.

If this phase of his career is still going on at that time, then why should he be?

I think he’ll dig himself out of the rut by then. Obviously if he’s still going through this bad patch, I’ll be the first to exclude him

Even Rohail N world turn out much better than these two.

Potential captain out.

Imam only turns up for a 35 ball 40 when the score is 200 to chase, not these low scoring games. Big match player!

Hasan will have to deliver something exceptional for IU to have a chance

Islamabad pacers want to make this interesting, absolutely love it!

Good pace, hurrying the batsmen. Hopefully he can sort out his run-up.

This really is high class bowling from the Islamabad pacers

Great control and accuracy being showed by both IU opening pacers

Seems like Hasan Ali is getting his swing back. Good news for Pakistan, hopefully he can get back to his 2017 form just in time for WT20

They need a few more wickets in this powerplay. These batsmen can just sit tight and survive this opening spell, then milk the singles and doubles once the field goes back. Absolutely no scoring pressure

Luck to survive this Kohler, got deceived by slower ball

How come Islamabad aren't wearing the yellow caps?

You have your core group of established Pakistani T20 players delivering this PSL:
Babar
Rizwan
Hafeez
Shaheen
Hasan Ali
Faheem

You know need to augment this with younger players with potential...no need to go back to tried and tested failures like Asif Ali, Talat and Chacha...

IU needs couple of wickets in next 4-5 overs. Shadab and Fawad need to stand up here

Who's the Sikh guy in Zalmi's camp? Is he a player or support staff? If he's a player would like to see him given a go just for the sake of diversity. We need some minority players in the league.

Support staff. He is actually a club cricket player but has been appointed as manager and has studied sport sciences if I am not wrong.

Shadab, Usman Q, Haider Ali will certainly make the squad.
Need to give Danish A and Rohail N chances instead of KIA (Khushdil, Iftikhar, Asif) models.

Good partnership bowling between Fawad and Shadab. TKC looking awkward against the spin, not reading it
