Peshawar Zalmi have sent out the following press release:

"Ideally, Peshawar was anticipating the opportunity to host the upcoming PSL matches. However, the current schedule has left the team's management disheartened, as it falls short of their expectations,"

"The franchise seeks a reconsideration of the schedule to better align with their expectations."

"Not only are Peshawar Zalmi fans disheartened with the current schedule, but the team's Commercial and Marketing Department is also facing challenges and reservations.

"Despite playing a pivotal role in promoting and popularising the PSL, Zalmi emphasises the need for the PCB to carefully consider the interests of all franchises in the scheduling process"

They should be renamed to Karen Zalmi

The one franchisee that’s always moaning

To be fair to Zalmi, they’re the only franchise that cares about the marketing aspect of the league. New kits, online store, decent music videos, getting celebrity mascots etc.

Compare it to KK or QG, they could have some of their players wearing the first seasons PSL kit and nobody would notice.

The owners of Zalmi are bunch of delusional folks high on ethno cola. They refuse to accept Peshawar is a no go zone. They need to touch grass sometime.

So you don't think they have a point?
Peshawar is not safe. Infact there is a new threat by the name off BLA. Just last week universities in Islamabad were closed as intelligence report revealed that the BLA were planning to do some activity in one of these unis.
And that was Islamabad.

Peshawar is safe because of the mountain regions of KPK and the way people can enter

Problem with this is that PZ do not mention anything about the security threats that exist.

If they have a report/proof to disprove those fears then by all means make a case.

Talk is cheap.

to be fair, those shadi chairs are more comfortable than the plastic chairs. Cause those shadi chairs have foam.
Usually stadiums in Pakistan have half of those cup plastic seats and half of those Shadi seats and yes I will pick those Shadi seats 10 out of 10 times.

Don't know on what basis they are talking about shifting matches to Peshawar. Neither is the security there suitable nor is the condition of the Arbab Niaz Stadium is feasible to to host match there.

Peshawar Zalmi will not have 3 of their key bowlers available for them in the PSL

They are in a serious mess at the moment

The only problems that will never allow a match to be played in Peshawar are security concerns and the stadium not being ready to host any match. These are the main problems, security cannot be made right asap but yes stadium can be ready in time if they try hard. i don't think there is anything wrong with scheduling a match there, the crowd will come, but until these issues are resolved, no player will be ready to play there.

It would have been better to give hosting to Peshawar instead of hosting matches in Karachi.

PCB could have held day games in Peshawar in the Hayatabad Stadium and got full sold out crowds each time. Peshawar Zalmi has been one of the most well run PSL franchises with a passionate loyal fan base, they deserve to play at home.
