could have got some promising u-19 guys in there as well..also likes of Harris Rauf / Umer Khan may be?

This is very sad..if this is a potential test squad for srilanka we are doomed...

Sad, sad and depressing picture, Misbah now telling the national team what kind of cricket they should play. Defensive and losing. Stick with oldies like Rahat Ali , even if they fail, no room for youngster.

Just look at the player's expression, no one is excited.

Ohhh man loved the pics.

Commander saab takes over

Sorry which potential match winner are we missing?

Babar and Abbas are playing in UK so who else is missing who should have been there?

Misbah shouldn't have selected rahat ali and asif ali .This is bad bad move apart from that list is quite good

The likes of Saud, Usman and Saad really should’ve been there.

Lmao what do you want them to be jumping around with joy while Misbah is talking?

According to some reports, Mohammad Rizwan top scored in the yoyo-test with 19.2 points while Asad Shafiq and Shan Masood got 19.1 points.

Haha you came to all these conclusions based on one picture taken at a split second during a moment in time?

Newly married Hasan Ali to report for duty today

Pakistan’s fast bowler Hassan Ali will be reporting for fitness tests at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) pre-season camp on Tuesday (today).

The speedster arrived in Pakistan on Monday after his much celebrated wedding to an Indian girl – Samiya Khan on August 20. Hasan would join buddy and fellow teammate Shadab Khan, who joined the PCB’s conditioning camp on Friday.

The national cricket team’s training camp is underway at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) Lahore, under the supervision of former captain Misbah-ul-Haq. The 17-day conditioning camp which commenced from August 22 will run until September 7.

The players will undergo fielding drills and net sessions, along with fitness and other cricketing activities during the camp. The PCB’s camp has been set up to prepare the players for the upcoming domestic and international cricket season.

Meanwhile, the first test of the national cricket team is likely to be the upcoming One-Day International (ODI) and T20I series against Sri Lanka. The much anticipated home series will be played in Karachi and Lahore from September 27.

.

some really out dated training. sit ups are not that good for core, especially the toll it puts on your back.

there are much better exercises that can be used to target the core.

How demoralising to see Mr Conflict of Interest leading this camp, and the total exclusion of new young talent.

Pakistan cricket is about to head into a couple of years of Winter with Misbah in charge. It’s horrifying.

I hope both can recover well before the Srl series.

bad timing on shaheens part. fakhar i dont think will last another year, unless we keep playing minows. hes been figured out and its obvious.

These pictures look like a trailer of a horror movie that about to be released for Pakistan cricket fans.

Misbah talking to Fakhar is a massive cause for concern..... oldie lover will probably be instructing the only aggressive batsman we have to do tuk tuk and bat at 70 SR. It is a travesty that a pathetic cricketer like Misbah is given so much importance in Pakistan.

how is misbah pathetic? dude was almost as good as yusuf yohana in his prime.
He is a very good batsman especially in test cricket. Good defensive technique and great hand eye coordination.

Don't read too much into it. People here seem to really hate Misbah for some reason. The same people will love him to death if he gets appointed and we go on a winning run. Most even headed people can realize that regardless of the kind of player Misbah was, coaching is a different ballgame. It is also clear that this camp is a trial run by the PCB to see how Misbah handles running an entire team before handing him the reigns.

:))

"Almost..."

Misbah's best year

2011: 765 Runs at 69.54 AVG (10 matches)

Yousuf's best year

2006: 1788 Runs at 99.33 AVG (11 matches)

Fakhar has technical flaws. He can't play the short ball.He is does't know when to attack and when to defend.May be Misbah can help him improve his game.

The lack of youngsters at the camp is glaring and everybody knows that Misbah is no good with up and coming players.

Given Pakistan's failures over the last couple of years we can expect more of the same with Misbah in charge. You'd be insane to want him as head coach.

The choice is simple:

Do we want MHK or Misbah ul Haq?

I know who I will choose if PCB doesn’t rope in Dean Jones.

yea and misbah had world class batsmen to support him like yousuf did? misbah is a top class batsman. He carried the entire team on his shoulders with no support.

Are we going to ignore Younis Khan?

YK averaged 85 in 2011 and was the better batsman during Misbah's prime. :yk

From what I see on social media, looks like Misbah is going to be the batting coach with Dean Jones as head coach. Considering the next world cup which is in extreme spin bowling conditions and looking at the deficiencies of Pakistan batsmen against spin bowling, Misbah will not be a bad choice as a batting coach as he was excellent against spin and can teach a thing or two to the batsmen.

I think the very first test championship is more important than WC2023, and Misbah isn't the right man to be coaching batsmen on how to play in Australia and New Zealand, or even England.

Maybe Fakhar should be given the ODI series off.

Give a youngster a chance.

Is that Haris Rauf in the third pic? Abdullah719

If so good to see.

They'll be back by the time their jet lag is over and only end up playing 2-3 games.

The risk of injury etc - why allow them to go? bad planning?

Exactly, I get asif ali going, but Shadab Khan is part of the test set up and really needs to play first class cricket and he shouldn't be risking injury, especially in a t20 league like the CPL where he could get injuries to the fingers or hands due to the hitting. I get it's not colliding with the QeA trophy, but what's the point of leaving for a week and coming back.

Hopefully this camp improve Sarfraz’s fitness.

lol he's been in the system for 5+ years now, his fitness has deteriorated if anything. no reason to hope it'll improve.

he goes around saying he's a foodie etc and can't quit biryani. shouldn't expect anything from unambitious folks like him.

how does ifti keep getting selected for these workouts? we have already tried him in test cricket plus odis and he failed. pick someone younger, he definitely older then 28
