I feel bad for Saim Ayub, Muhammad Haris, Sufiyan Moqim, Mehran Mumtaz. They deserve to play for a better team.

It's not even about just Babar. It's just a garbage team. It has no balance, and I honestly don't know what they were thinking with their overseas picks.
Mitchell Owen kind of makes them competitive

They know they messed up in the draft. They have an all their eggs in one basket policy, and that’s to make Babar open.

These kind of howlers in the draft will happen naturally when your main playing strategy is flawed.

Multan Sultans have messed up too this season.

Considering the players available and the ones they picked...it feels like such a waste. TKC? Max Bryant? (whoever that is). Nahid Rana has potential but he's very untested in white-ball and not someone they can rely on. Not opening with Saim and Haris would also be a brainless decision.

Forget Saim and Harris

Not opening with Mitchell Owen and Babar opening instead with Saim….that’s what is being reported

Babar
Saim
Haris
TKC
Maaz?
Bryant
Linde
Talat
Ali
Nahid
Sufyeen

Squad is not well balanced . Have good spinners but seam bowlers/allrounders are questionable. :inti

1. Saim
2. Haris
3. Babar
4. TKC (no other choice)
5. Max Bryant
6. Abdul Samad
7. Linde
8. Ahmed Daniyal
9. Nahid Rana/Joseph
10. Arif Yaqoob
11. Ali Raza (E)

The best they can put out

Middle/lower order is very weak and missing a proper pace bowling A/R, but not their fault because corbin bosch ran off to the ipl

I'm going with this.

1. Haris (wk)
2. Saim / Maaz (e)
3. Babar (c)
4. Tom Cohler Β°
5. Samad
6. Najib Β° / Bryant Β°
7. Ahmed
8. Sufyan
9. Raza (e) / Joseph Β°
10. Rana Β°
11. Ali

Bosch is a huge miss. He was the perfect no. 7 and 5th bowler for them. They have named the Owens but I don't know how good he is in that role.

Didn't realise they ropped in Mitchell Owen

That guy hit a hundred in the BBL final as an opener

Probably should replace TKC with him at no. 4

Mitchell Owen is a solid pick. He is a 6'4 power hitter who can bowl some medium pace. Usually a middle order batter, but was moved to open by Hobart Hurricanes this past BBL season.

He must play.

Mitchell Owen had a very good BBL. But he remains untested in subcontinent. Possibly the only good overseas pick by PZ.
PZ always take extremely left field picks without much reason.

The inclusion of Linde and Owen has given them good middle order heft to add to their already formidable opening pair. The bowling might not look remarkable but Ali, Muqeem, Rana, Linde and Joseph is a solid lineup. I think much will depend on how their middle order of Talat, Samad Bryant/Owen fares.

I was surprised when they left Aamer Jamal.

I thought he was that perfect no. 7 batter and 5th bowler. They would've and he could've improved for seasons to come. These kind of pace bowling all rounder are hard to come by let alone a local one.

Local players, especially, those with potential and time on their side should be retained. Although Jamal's recent bowling form hasn't helped his cause. In retrospect Jamal might have been a better pick than Mehran/Yaqoob given how Corbin's exit has forced them to pick another spinner in Linde. I don't think retaining three spinners was wise in any case.

I forgot they signed George Linde. That's a good pick...probably an even better pick than Corbin Bosch. Linde has been in monster form for South Africa and MI Cape Town.

TKC bombed in the IPL. And he ain't getting picked by any team besides PZ. Could have gotten a far better player instead of him.

Maaz sadaqat is a good prospect. Give him chance in middle if top order is stacked. I think he's better option than Hussain talat since he can bowl left arm spin as well.
