What's new

[PICTURE/VIDEOS] Abbas Afridi - Performance Watch

Well warranted selection in the T-20 format atleast. What are his performances like in ODI and 4 day cricket?

Four overs, 3/33 (econ 8.25) today against IU. He took 2 wickets and conceded 1 run in the 19th over. Good variation, as always. He really redeemed himself in the last over.

IN 6 T20IS, ABBAS AFRIDI TAKEN WICKETS IN 4 BUT PAKISTAN LOST ALL.

IN THE OTHER 2, HE BOWLED WICKETLESS AND PAKISTAN WON BOTH.

Indeed he is a very intelligent bowler utilizes variations quite effectively, only luck is not supprting him else i do rate him above Zaman Khan.

Just a trundler without skills. He can't seam the ball can't swing the ball can't bowl Yorkers or short stuff.

Just those useless slower balls.

He should be nowhere near the world cup squad.

He's one of the newer players given an opportunity who is performing 6 matches 10 wickets , averaging 15 , strike rate 10

I'd take that

That's called performing unlike saim ayub

Abbas Afridi came handy for Pakistan Shaheens' against Tasmania Tigers in today's encounter in the Top End T20 series. He registered decent bowling figures of 2/39 today.

Abbas Afridi's sensational maiden List A century (112* off 54 balls, 7 sixes) stole the show in the President's One Day Cup 2024.

His heroics rescued SNGPL from 204/6, chasing 352 against Eshaal Associates, and remarkably tied the match.

Pacer Abbas Afridi has rejoined Karachi Kings for the upcoming HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, calling it a return to “old family” and expressing confidence in both his preparation and the squad’s potential to go all the way this season:

“I’m really excited for this PSL—returning to my old family, Karachi Kings. Preparations have been going really well and, InshaAllah, I’ll try to deliver strong performances throughout the tournament,”

“MashaAllah, Karachi Kings have assembled a very strong squad this season. The local talent and international experience in this group make us a well-rounded unit. We’re hopeful this combination takes us to the final—and beyond,”

When asked about the competition and which team could challenge Karachi Kings the most, Abbas Afridi responded with confidence: “All teams are strong, no doubt—but I believe we are the strongest. Our goal is simple: not to let any opponent get close. We’ll stick to the plans given by our captain David Warner, and I’m personally very excited to play under his leadership.”

“The management has been backing me strongly and pushing me to give my best. I hope to live up to their expectations and contribute to the team’s success,”

The pacer ended with a heartfelt message for the fans: “I would just say to all the fans—please come to the stadium and support us. Your presence means the world to us.”

2-fer by Abbas Afridi so far against Peshawar Zalmi, he must be enjoying his time with Karachi Kings this season

Abbas Afridi was the player of the match as he scored a brilliant 55* off 12 balls against Kuwait in the Hong Kong sixes. He hit 6 sixes in an over during his blistering knock.

Abbas Afridi single-handedly won this Hong Kong sixes event.. TBh... He smashed in every game and bowled crucial overs.

0 wickets for 14 runs in 2 overs for Abbas as he represents Quetta Qavalry in t10

Perfect example of a performing player who is quietly sidelined for absolutely no reason.

There is no reason for him to not be in t20 (and even odi squad for me).

The only reason he was kicked out was to give a millionth chance to a ttf all rounder with political backing, who has done well to be fair to him.

But Abbas can absolutely replace Rauf and Naseem. He should be a lock in XI.

It's puzzling to me how he isn't in the T20 team. He's a wicket-taker, he can hit boundaries down the order, he is a different bowler than Shaheen, Naseem, Rauf, Salman Mirza, he has taken alot of wickets in the PSL...and yet he can't find even a place in the squad, let alone the playing XI.

Abbas Afridi was declared player of the match for his match winning bowling performance of 3/15 while playing for Quetta Qavalry against Ajman Titans in the ongoing Abu Dhabi T10.

His hitting has only gotten cleaner since making debut for Pakistan. With his batting ability. He certainly pecks ahead of many bowlers in T20 for Pakistan

Tbh, he looks like AB de Villiers when compared with a delusional slogger like Shaheen. He is very useful for that No.8/9 position and has the potential to get better. And that's on top of the value he can add with the ball.

Abbas Afridi was one of the most effective bowlers for the Quetta Qavalry. He registered bowling figures of 3/15 (3 wickets for 15 runs). His strong performance with the ball (alongside Khuzaima Tanveer's 2/7) was crucial in restricting the Ajman Titans to a total of 107/7.

Abbas Afridi picked 1 wicket for 11 runs in Quetta Qavalry's last night match vs Aspin Stallions in T10 league
