Some Innings get too much appreciated, while there are some fifties and centuries that never get appreciated although they are the best possible outcome for the opposition.

So mention below the most ungrateful opposition that never appreciated the efforts of their 12th man in the opposition.

Misbah 07, 11 , loosing test match in zmb being not out , kl wc finals, rohit and kohli 22 sf, miandad 96 qf

Miandad has been a serial bottler against India in WC. Do not forget his 40 in well over 100 balls in 1992 WC. Proper cowardly knock that wrecked a modest chase of 210is total India put up.

Shahid Afridi for 90% of his innings over 2 decades of a career!

Afridi was an all-rounder. He had over 8000 ODI runs and close to 400 ODI wickets.

He flopped a lot with the bat but also played many match-winning knocks (including against India).

He was also a great bowler.

He was jack of many trades. He was a complete package. An ODI legend.

P.S., I don't think you watched Afridi live. :inti

Sweeping is a skill in cricket and has many uses in life but I dont think it has any relevance to the discussion of this thread.

Without misbahs both innings, pakistan would have been completely humiliated in those matches as all other "agressive" batsmen laid a big fat egg in those matches. Misbah brought you guys close

Funniest thing is in neither of those matches you lost because of run rate but lost because your tulla batsmen choked and got out slogging.

Bro am Indian.atleast see my username once before commenting .Misbah brought 07 games so agonising close and messed it up.if he has not played it would have been 2015 kind of match where no one ever showed interest to turn up.So in a way he helped us with choking

That being said his Mohali innings is the best innings for opposing team..

The only opposition Afridi bullied was Bangladesh .

Batting average : 35
Bowling average :22

Good spot. Dude bottled the middle overs in Bangalore '96 as well.

Misbah 2011 has to be right up there.

Engineered a situation where his partners had no option but to choke. Then hit a few boundaries when the game was done to make his own stats look passable.

Younis Khan was also an honourable mention in that game.

I don't understand why people blaming him for 2007 loss.. ? He played very well in that tournament and was excellent in that innings too.. Actually India and Joginder Sharma got lucky in the end..
Misbah messed it for first group match. He has not learnt anything and did an all time harakiri in the finals.Even then he went next step for sf in 2011.

What about Dhoni's inning of 9 runs off 27 balls against Australia???
or Yuvraj's Singh inning against Pakistan 14 off 32 balls in asia cup???

Yeah Rahul definitely right up there for his masterclass of 66(107 balls).

No one mentioned Yuvi Master class innings against lanka in 2014 World T20 final. :kp

Yuvraj's T20 world cup final against Sri Lanka comes to mind. Poor guy tried his best was so out of touch after cancer :(
That was probably one of the greatest death-bowling spells I've ever seen by Malinga and Kulasekara. A player of Yuvraj's caliber should have found a way to score but that was a high-quality display of death bowling.

Ha. Grass and a hard surface with cracks on it. Pitch prepared by Pakistanis just to screw Afghanistan .

Batting and pace will matter here. Spin won't play much role.

The whole word watched Afridi bat for a long time.

Afridi came to the crease with wild cheers from girls and soy boys, he faced the first delivery swung wildly and missed

He faced the second delivery and made contact and it went high in the air, higher then a speeding missile and was caught.

Girls and soy boys had a look of despondency, rinse and repeat...
