What's new

[PICTURES] Haider Ali, Imran Khan & Kashif Bhatti arrive in England [Post #143]

And how many Coronaviruses do we have effective vaccines against?

ZERO.

This current one is still being studied, and no responsible authority should take risks with it.

What does that have to do with anything I wrote? You are talking about a completely different matter.

Risk with what mad what risks? What are you talking about? I have repeatedly said that the once you test negative, you won't test positive again and that you will have immunity. That is how viruses, all of them work and n-CoV is a virus. I don't know how much more plain I can be. Read the post again for details.

We didn't need a vaccine before. They were working on them for SARS but the pendamic went away. MERS has a few dozen cases when it pops up now and then. Too few to get people really invested or to get funding. Still the Oxford group has a vaccine for MERS that has passed safety trials in the UK shown efficacy in Saudi Arabia. What's the hurdle? Not enough cases to run trials properly. That leaves the common cold ones, we don't need a vaccine for a cold, not when a hundred other viruses will still cause it.

We haven't developed a vaccine for human coronaviruses because we didn't need to, not because we couldn't.

We will get a COVID vaccine, infact we already have them and over a dozen in trials with over a hundred still in development. This is not HIV.

What is taking so long for the rest of the results to come out? Maybe too many positives?

From Report : Tentative schedule of Pakistan, England series

Test Series

August 5-9: First Test at Old Trafford, Manchester

August 13-17: Second Test at Ageas Bowl, Southampton

August 21-25: Third Test at Ageas Bowl, Southampton

August 29: First T20I at Ageas Bowl, Southampton

August 31: Second T20I at Ageas Bowl, Southampton

It kind of shows how rampant the community spread is in Pakistan

What is the point of a chartered plane right now?

Cancel the series

This rate they will need 10 reserves

This is a reality. Boards will have to make a decision on whether they will halt cricketing activities because of positive results

I dont think they will halt unless england board make that decision maybe delay the tour by 2 weeks or go later on in the month which will mean less time for practise awkward situation for Pakistan now thou

The PCB have goofed up big time. Unbelievable level of incompetence.

All will be forgotten when they appoint a high performance director to director to director to director to director to international cricket and the fans will start doing bhangra on how competent they are.

Mamoon doing Bhangra at PCB supposed mishandling

Nothing to see here

I would blame the punjab minister for wanting to have pic with a failure like Faheem

I don’t view anybody who has played for their country as a failure . Yes we can say they failed at international level and were simply not good enough, but to diminish someone’s achievement to such a level where we consider them as a “failure “ shows our narrow mindedness and the negative mindset a lot of us have .

Faheem has had a relatively disappointing career, but even still he managed to get in to the top10 T20 bowling rankings.

Agreed that's true

I have seen people co-infected with Hepatitis C Genotype 1 + Genotype 2.
And people infected with a different Genotype after having been successfully treated for another Genotype. Not to forget Hep-C, after succesful treatment, has relapse ratio of 15-40% depending upon Genotype.

We don't have enough data yet for Covid to get a consensus on role of Antibodies. Till then, it's better to underestimate thier role.

Is anybody checking antibody levels of covid 19? If not then its useless.

Of course you are going to defend PCB now.

I know this is a waste of time because you have been programmed, but I will still oblige. Where do I begin?

For starters, the PCB conducted these tests too late. Furthermore, they took know necessary precautions during the camp. Players and officially were pictured without masks and were literally bumping into each other.

Whatever these players do in their personal space is beyond PCB’s control, but there is no excuse for the fact that PCB didn’t enforce SOPs during the camp.

Like other departments of Naya Pakistan, PCB is being run by clueless hacks.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Doesn't Antibody kit compare tested sample against a "Control". So Antibody level depends upon how Control was determined and it can vary from Lab to Lab. or its not like that ?

Antibody detection is one thing. But you have to measure the antibody levels in the body to see if its at a level to give protection from a repeat infection.

This has to be done on a certain time period.

Dont think anyone is doing this.

The PCB is not a baby sitting club, they are grown men, and if they dont listen, that is there problem. Off course your whole point is political and like everything you say, it falls flat on its face.

No, it is PCB’s problem. Your attitude is called running away from an issue and throwing others under the bus.

The players were training together without observing SOPs. Pictures were uploaded on Instagram and PCB were obviously aware of the fact that they were training together.

It is clearly’s PCB’s fault.

The only thing that is falling flat is your dream of Naya Pakistan.

In every country there are Players and Celebrities infected with Covid. No point in singling out PCB/Pakistan in this conext when this is the case pretty much across the globe.

No, its not. The players are adults, you may want to be molly coddled but most people make their own choices.

What he saying that he is looking for issues to get excited about. It won't be long before he blames IK and ISI for the virus.

I should get corona test as well, community spread in Pakistan is rampant. One of the worst in the world

Not just in Pakistan, situation is same in everywhere. Community spread is rampant in India too.
Wish them speedy recovery.

Yeah and 7 more tested positive y'day taking tally to 10 and they are our key players like fakhar, hafeez, wahab. I dont think England tour will go ahead in such circumstances.

No, its not. The players are adults, you may want to be molly coddled but most people make their own choices.

The only fault PCB has done was to underestimate the intelligence of average Pakistanis ( and our players are part of that group) - Wasim has learnt the hard way.

We can ignore the naysayers for the moment as all they are interested in are cheap political points and nothing more.

Explain, are these children, were they not given enough information? What would you like the PCB to do?

First off all I want to know why ecb has no cases test positive and why pakistan only doing 30 tests and 10 have failed surely they also trained at a stadium were thier was no social distancing they should locked the stadiums up naseem shah is a child lol.they should have said if anyone who is being picked for the tour gets test positive they wont be going and will be fined I guarantee you they all would have adhered to the rules

The English players have been brought up to follow rules and most English cricketers are well educated. Our players have little or no education and any information goes in one ear and out of the other. They don't see the virus as problem.

So then if its rules then obvs the pcb havent set out the rules do you agree or should they not need to set rules.what about professor.and yes I agree about education surely the PCB have to educate players about various stuff that can be related to cricket for example match fixing health ect

You cannot educate(unless the want to be) these grown men, you can give them information. The PCB is not a baby sitter, it's an employer and look all employers, it has responsibilities but ultimately if the players are too thick then it's futile.

Yes employers are meant to enhance skills that need enhancing but have they been given information Is it constructive.

I dont know, but i would hope so. But the players would have to be total numpties not see what has been discussed on the news for months.

Never underestimate the ineptitude of the PCB nor the stupidity of its centrally contracted players.

Just when you think they cannot cross an established line of delinquency, they (one feels sometimes deliberately so) cross it to see how far they can reach without being caught.

Haider Ali will be tested again in 4 days as per information we have received

Happy for Haider, hopefully he can get another negative in next few days and other guys can also recover soon.

He's hoping to have the next test tomorrow.

As per news reports:

fast-bowler Haris Rauf had tested COVID-19 positive for the third time in a row.

Happy for Haider! He deserves his chance and the opportunity to take it with both hands.

Thats a great news.. looking forward for Haider to play and cement his place....

Im sure if given a couple of chances this guy Haider can cement his place... All he need is a chance from Misbah & Co.

As per news reports:

fast-bowler Haris Rauf had tested COVID-19 positive for the third time in a row.

Cricket and tour aside, how is his health over all? Is he still asymtomatic? May Allah grant him good health and recovery soon.

PCB have confirmed

Haider Ali, Imran Khan and Kashif Bhatti, along with masseur Malang Ali will leave for England on July 8 to join the Pakistan squad ahead of the 3-match Test series

And yet Haris Rauf is far more dangerous than Imran or Kashif!

The third group of Pakistan squad departs for England.

All 3 players and the masseur have arrived in UK and will reintegrate with the side after clearing ECB organized COVID-19 tests.

Conflicting reports - some indicate that Haris Rauf has cleared all Covid-19 tests and is now eligible to join Pakistan squad in England, according to others, he is still recovering from Covid-19!

PCB none the wiser it seems!

What exactly is Haris doing?

View attachment 102439

Pakistan cricket fan was left shocked after he realised he had interacted with fast bowler Haris Rauf who was advised home quarantine by Pakistan Cricket Board after a series of positive novel coronavirus tests.

The Pakistan cricket fan, who shared a photo of himself with Haris Rauf, said he posed for a selfie in a public space only to realise the fast bowler's recent Covid-19 tests results after reading up on the internet, according to Pakistan media.

The fan pointed out that he wondered after posing for the photograph why Haris Rauf was still in the country despite having been selected as part of Pakistan's squad for the England tour.

Notably, Haris Rauf missed being part of the Pakistan's touring squad in England after he along with a few of his teammates tested positive for Covid-19. Rauf was replaced by Mohammad Amir who left for England last week after clearing two successive Covid-19 tests.

Rauf returned positive in five out of the six COVID-19 tests he underwent last month. His fifth test came out negative but a player needs two consecutive negative results to fly out of Pakistan. The player, though, tested positive in his sixth test.

Rauf, who was set to fly to the UK on July 22 , was found to be asymptomatic and was advised to be in self-quarantine for 10 days before being tested again.

Pakistan announced a 29-member squad for England tour but a 20-man group arrived in the UK on June 28 after 10 players were initially found to be tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf, Haider Ali, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Rizwan, Wahab Riaz, Imran Khan, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Hasnain and Kashif Bhatti were among those who tested positive in the first round. A few players subsequently cleared a second test and joined the squad in England.

Haris Rauf's apparent breach of guidelines comes at a time when cricket is taking baby steps towards return to action in full-swing. Only recently, England pacer Jofra Archer was fined and dropped from the 2nd Test against West Indies for breaching coronavirus bio-secure protocols.

Meanwhile, PCB CEO Wasim Khan said Pakistan were under pressure when 10 of their players tested Covid-19 positive in the initial round but they decided to go ahead with the England tour to make sure cricket went ahead amid the pandemic.

"The Board was under pressure when so many players' tests came positive. Thus sending the cricket team to England during the coronavirus pandemic was quite a tough decision," PCB CEO Wasim Khan said, as quoted by the PTI.

"We kept to our plan to go ahead with the tour because we had in the first place decided to send the team to play our important part in the restoration of world cricket and to keep it on track, it is imperative to continue with matches."

From PCB:

Fast bowler Haris Rauf has cleared his second Covid-19 test and is eligible to join the squad in England. As per the protocols he was tested twice – Monday and Wednesday.

He is expected to travel over the weekend. Details of his travel plan will be shared in due course.
