I think they should already be thinking about alternative strategies now..
Bring in someone new? Promote from
The current lot?

Abid
Hafeez .. he always wants to open
Call up Rizwan as replacement??
He has an arm guard on, how did it hit? Hope its not serious.
I'm not a fan of Imam's handling of the short ball, we've seen pictures like this before against Lockie Ferguon of NZ, but to give him some credit, at least it shows he's trying to get in line.
I would like to see Hafeez open. You can then accommodate harris and asif and with minimal changes to the rest of the order. Hafeez can more or less play the role Imam was and take his time settling in. Given the bat friendly conditions, I feel he will be able to manage just fine.
As a replacement we should get Rizwan .. can be backup keeper as well. Or retain abid... either way is fine.
Hafeez can play power strokes in the middle which Babar cant and Babar can play against new ball the way hafeez cant

Imam injury update:
Imam ul Haq taken to hospital for Xray. All xrays are clear. Swelling on his left arm only.
Hope he recovers but doesn't make it back into the team. He's the weak link in the batting, drains all the initiative and momentum from the batting in the power play, where runs are meant to be scored. Babar and Fakhar displaying how to bat on a belter of a wicket where imam was struggling.
Brilliant 151 at a strike rate of 115 to take us to 350+ by Babar today, oh wait...

Hope he recovers, Pak will need him to play deep into the innings in the WC, if hes not available, I would keep Abid in the squad, but it would be unfair to throw him into the firing line without game time
My Starting XI for May 31
1) Fakhar Zaman
2) Babar Azam
3) Haris Sohail
4) Mohammad Hafeez
5) Sarfraz Ahmed
6) Asif Ali
7) Imad Wasim
8) Shadab Khan
9) Hasan Ali
10) Mohammad Amir/Shaheen Afridi
11) Junaid Khan
No need to put one player down to make your favourite look good.
In a losing cause, keep that loser Tendulkar/Indian mindset from the 90s, and you shall remain a loser.
After playing 130 odd balls, he should have scored 170+ as any decent international batsman would do, not pad your stats.
Speak for yourself, making laughable claims that Babar is a better matchwinner than Imam, whereas Babar should have made 150, not 115, today, as per your logic, but all is good because he is your favourite talented youngsta beauty and not related to Inzamam. The reality is that he has been around for much longer than Imam, but Imam has already progressed a lot more and is always improving, despite having far less experience.
Pakistan made 350+ in the previous match thanks to Imam's knock, as hardly anyone else contributed, however, today we made 350 despite Babar's knock, as others around him performed well in order to lift the team's score.
Didn't even make 350. Only 340. And that's all despite Babar's knock, it was pathetic how he slowed down just to get his century
Ended up with a score of 6(20) which was the difference between the sides. Yet another match that imam ul haq has lost us.
