[PICTURES] Imam-ul-Haq injury: X-rays clear; Swelling on his left arm only, no fracture [Post#31]

and that when they were going to send Abid back... Hope its not very serious. But management will be puzzled now.

Its looks similar to the babar azam injury which he recieved in last year eng test series.Hopefully he will be fine

Hope he recovers but doesn't make it back into the team. He's the weak link in the batting, drains all the initiative and momentum from the batting in the power play, where runs are meant to be scored. Babar and Fakhar displaying how to bat on a belter of a wicket where imam was struggling.

It looked bad.

He was rolling around in a lot of pain.

Asked PCB for an update.

I think they should already be thinking about alternative strategies now..
Bring in someone new? Promote from
The current lot?
Options:
Abid
Hafeez .. he always wants to open
Call up Rizwan as replacement??

He has an arm guard on, how did it hit? Hope its not serious.

Alot of options if imam is unable to get fit for worldcup.
1)haris open the inning with fakhar
2)hafeez open the inning with fakhar
3)retained abid ali for worldcup
4)Make ship opener from the haris till imam fully recovered for worldcup

Imam injury update from PCB:

Imam taken to hospital for precautionary Xray. Further update will be provided later.

One more babar azam open the inning with fakhar which will be blessing in disguise for babar

I think we should not be having an issue as Babar can open the innings.. Haris comes in for Imam

We can have

1) Fakhar
2) Babar
3) Haris Sohail
4) Sarfaraz Ahmed
5) Muhammad Hafeez
6) Asif Ali
7) Imad Wasim
8) Shadab Khan
9) Muhammad Amir
10) Hasan Ali
11) Junaid Khan/Shaheen Shah

I would like to see Hafeez open. You can then accommodate harris and asif and with minimal changes to the rest of the order. Hafeez can more or less play the role Imam was and take his time settling in. Given the bat friendly conditions, I feel he will be able to manage just fine.
As a replacement we should get Rizwan .. can be backup keeper as well. Or retain abid... either way is fine.

I'm not a fan of Imam's handling of the short ball, we've seen pictures like this before against Lockie Ferguon of NZ, but to give him some credit, at least it shows he's trying to get in line.

This is really the worst nightmare for a batsman while pulling. Miss the ball and get hit on the back arm or ribs/chest area without protection. Because you are doing everything by the book by getting in line but also putting your body in danger.

ohh boy !!!! big blow...one of the settled opener hope he is ok and come back on the field

Hafeez can play power strokes in the middle which Babar cant and Babar can play against new ball the way hafeez cant

Babar should open if Imam is hurt

Hafeez can play power strokes in the middle which Babar cant and Babar can play against new ball the way hafeez cant

I agree... Hafeez is better at chipping away during the middle overs. His nerves get the best of him when he opens.

Well all the best to Imam. I hope i am wrong it’s not fracture. He is a steady hard working young man and whether some like it or not, an important part of the team.

Hope he recovers, Pak will need him to play deep into the innings in the WC, if hes not available, I would keep Abid in the squad, but it would be unfair to throw him into the firing line without game time

My Starting XI for May 31

1) Fakhar Zaman
2) Babar Azam
3) Haris Sohail
4) Mohammad Hafeez
5) Sarfraz Ahmed
6) Asif Ali
7) Imad Wasim
8) Shadab Khan
9) Hasan Ali
10) Mohammad Amir/Shaheen Afridi
11) Junaid Khan

All the best to him. If he can't make it, open with Babar in the WC.

Imam injury update:

Imam ul Haq taken to hospital for Xray. All xrays are clear. Swelling on his left arm only.

Thank God xrays are clear. A couple weeks rest and he should be good to go for the WC inshallah!

Brilliant 151 at a strike rate of 115 to take us to 350+ by Babar today, oh wait...

Champ came out to bat even after that blow. He has heart and won't let his haters win. He's opening for Pakistan in the world cup and Abid Ali, who is surplus to requirements now, should sit this one out.

Oh wait...Imam played a brilliant knock of 20(6) today....oh wait...it was 6(20)... Which is pathetic even for test match standards. But hey, his average increased 👍 Which is all he cares about anyway.

JK can handle the bat. Should not have returned to the crease if he had no intention to hit out

In a losing cause, keep that loser Tendulkar/Indian mindset from the 90s, and you shall remain a loser.

After playing 130 odd balls, he should have scored 170+ as any decent international batsman would do, not pad your stats.

Your team is going nowhere you have the combination wrong... All top 5 are accumalators can not play over run a ball except fakhar

No need to put one player down to make your favourite look good.

I was only exposing the blatant hypocrisy and double standards of the other poster. Having said that, most have rightly criticised Babar for slowing down for his 100 and ending up with a below par strike rate considering the pitch.

Speak for yourself, making laughable claims that Babar is a better matchwinner than Imam, whereas Babar should have made 150, not 115, today, as per your logic, but all is good because he is your favourite talented youngsta beauty and not related to Inzamam. The reality is that he has been around for much longer than Imam, but Imam has already progressed a lot more and is always improving, despite having far less experience.

Pakistan made 350+ in the previous match thanks to Imam's knock, as hardly anyone else contributed, however, today we made 350 despite Babar's knock, as others around him performed well in order to lift the team's score.

Didn't even make 350. Only 340. And that's all despite Babar's knock, it was pathetic how he slowed down just to get his century

Yes, pardon the error. That was my point, he didn't have to deal with the pressure of the first 4 wickets falling before we even reached 200 as he batted like Imam had to in the previous match. In fact, others stepped up and scored runs quickly today, yet he still played selfishly.

Ended up with a score of 6(20) which was the difference between the sides. Yet another match that imam ul haq has lost us.
