[PICTURES] Is Misbah-ul-Haq losing his patience with Babar Azam?

Exactly. You have the example of Kane Williamson who keeps quiet but seems confident in his decision making.

But Babar is too timid and it just doesn't lift this disintegrated Pakistani team. That's why other guys like Malik, Hafeez felt they had to interfere to make something happen. Babar himself creates this vacuum for others to take over.

Kane Williamson is also an intelligent on field captain, he adjusts his field placings accordingly to the match situation and is smart with his bowling changes. Babar looks completely lost at this stage.

Misbah seems frustrated. He needs to be cool, calm, and collected.

Also, Babar should get a lengthy run. Changing captaincy too frequently is not good.

Coach can only do so much. You can listen to just one conversation of Babar & you can tell he isn't captaincy material. Not every great batsman can be a good captain...but unfortunately for Pakistan there was no other alternative when Babar was appointed.

I still feel Shan Masood should be made Test & ODI captain. He may be a very average player, but he will lift the team because of his game awareness. How him & Andy Flower led Multan Sultan's to the top of the table in PSL even with the worst team in the tournament goes to show you how important it is to have a competent coach & captain.

Can’t fault Babar. There are a couple of selfish individuals there who are no doubt after captaincy role (Malik/Hafeez).

Thread title is misleading - we don’t exactly know why Misbah was looking frustrated.

That’s just daft. Them two are definitely not trying to be captains

People are over-analysing Misbah doing a facepalm. Maybe he just remembered he forgot his laundry in the hotel when the camera panned to him?!

A fickle bunch you lot are. Make Babar captain, they make him captain, he's in over his head in just his first few games, he sucks get him out of captaincy. What a joke we are as fans.

Well, Rizwan seemed more vocal than Babar. It was downright annoying.

Babar needs to get hold of the situation and ask everyone to shut up and follow his directions. Everyone was trying to become a captain yesterday.

I wish he had gone to collect his laundary so that some real planning could have been done during his absence.

3 Matches for Babar as captain and Misbah started doing notanki on camera to save his prestigious job. Our captain is young and inexperience excuse will not work and hide his poor strategies.

I have lost my patience with Misbah. Tired of watching this loser destroying our cricket for over a decade now.

Was Sarfaraz guiding bowlers today? I reckon he has been included in the side by Misbah to give Babar some support.

ANd Misbah was right.

Babar as test captain was forced and Misbah knew this guy sucks as a captain as he has no idea whats happening.

2 years later, we can see whats happening at home against the aussies

bump.

so Misbah called it first yet the fans blamed misbah.

2 years later, he was right

Misbah called what first?

He was right about what?

I might be wrong here but wasn’t Misbah the chief selector when he made Babar captain? If I’m not wrong then was Misbah wrong for making him captain?

Babar can't even get series win's against the likes of South Africa now that Misbah is gone.

Ah yes, the infamous picture of Misbah.

Babar Azam flaws as captain were already there and Misbah knew it. Misbah didnt want him as captain, but here the ppers had a go at Misbah. The flawed logic that oh let Babar Azam learn captaincy....

Well, International cricket is not place to learn how to captain. You learn captaincy at domestic cricket.

From day 1, Babar sucked as a captain. Misbah knew it, every sane cricket fan knew it.

The posters in this thread finally found out 3 years later but with a world cup that we are about to lose

Misbah was the one who lobbied hard to have Sarfaraz removed as captain and he succeeded eventually

Cause Sarfraz sucked as a captain. Yes Sarfraz was a good leader as he had the dressing room united, but as a cricket captain he also sucked.

We lost a test series cause of his poor captaincy. Sarfraz was also out of form.

The decision was to make Azhar Ali the captain. Azhar Ali was not a good leader, but as a captain he knew what strategies to adopt on the field.

There is a difference between being a leader and being a cricket captain. Cricket captain is like a Football Manager. A Football Manager can be a bad leader but he needs to have strategies like what formation to play, and which player to call up from the bench and how the players should play.

Similar a Cricket captain can be a bad leader, but he also plays the role of the on field manager where he has to come up with strategies. Who should be bowling, and what field position needs to be chosen.

PCB loves to make videos of Babar Azam giving cringe lectures where he says shabash to the performers and says his infamous line not to point fingers to non performers. Ok good, those speeches are lovely to watch for social media fans. But real captaincy is not that, real captaincy is the on field DECISIONS. The DECISIONS he makes is what has led to him not being able to win anything

your best player doesn’t always mean he is the right man for captaincy. Captaincy in cricket is unique to other sports . In football for example there is little responsibility apart from motivating and maybe deciding who takes a free kick, all sub changes , formation etc are decided by the manager.

Captaincy in cricket is a massive role and team management should asses who has these skills as seperate to batting or bowling skills.

I can’t remember his name (maybe it’s Bailey ) but didn’t Australia pick a player mainly or purely for his captaincy ?

Today Misbah explained the bad tactics Babar employs.

Alot of people were bashing him, but Misbah knew early on that how bad Babar was as a captain. FUnny how posters were bashing Misbah are now bashing Babar when they realize how bad he is as a captain

Misbah is throwing his own product under the bus. Nothing new.

Misbah totally loved him until now. The WC campaign has been a total failure and it exposed Misbah/Babar.

I don’t understand why Shaheen was not brought on by Babar earlier. I was kind of defending his captaincy before but now I am totally against his decision making in the field.

He is too bad to be smart

And then to drop our local Diamond legend Imad Wasim for Nawaz is an absolute farce especially after Imad had an ATG PSL recently. Was the saving grace for KK.

Misbah should lose patience with Babar...........

Misbah “Yes Sir” implemented former PM’s order and forced this timid, low intellect player in to leadership role.

Misbah has always turned out to be a disaster for Pakistan.

Babar can't handle the pressure of being captain and has no game awareness in the field. We need to take the captaincy of him and hope he finds his batting form again. He can inspire by scoring runs not by struggling to choose the best bowling options or set a field according to any plan.

Misbah is one helluva lota. It’s fine sitting in the studio and saying we need to play aggressive cricket - when did Misbah ever play aggressive cricket?

Whatever the approach is (which is pathetic), it’s from Misbah’s own playbook!

Is the guy deluded that people aren’t going to listen to his talk about “aggressiveness” and not fall on the floor laughing?

This is the irony... the guy himself could not play aggressively to save his own life in ODIs and he has nerves to criticise somebody else for not being aggressive.
