[PICTURES] Lahore Qalandars announce 16-member Rising Stars team for Australia tour

It's the age old problem when touring Australia. It takes at least a month to figure their length and by the time bowlers adjust, the tour is over.

This is his second tour though?

By the way, his batting whilst unconventional is pretty effective.

I'm not just speaking for Irfan but all the bowlers. Two days aren't enough to adjust from knee high to chest high bounce especially when you're bowling two over spells. You get no time to settle into a rhythm. In comparison, bowlers from NZ or England would adjust within a week or two.

Both Harris Rauf and Usman Qadir will be playing grade cricket in Australia

Excellent opportunity for Haris Rauf to get some strength and conditioning coaching whilst playing high quality cricket.

Irshad along with bowling rubbish lengths is one of the worst fielders I've seen.

The fielding generally by LQ has been terrible.

Not watching today but Zeeshan dropped a few last game. Was pretty disappointed given he is a grade above his teammates.

Haris bowled really well today, beat the batsman for genuine pace.

Excited to see how he fares in the next four to five months playing grade cricket.

Tour not very successful so far; huge gap in capabilities between both sides?

There's not a big gap in capability between LQ and the BBL academy sides- in fact if we're speaking solely in terms of capability then LQ's bowling attack is the strongest out of the lot.

I'd put it down to the lack of experience and the foreign conditions. The pacers got carried away with the bounce and the batsman simply didn't adjust to the conditions, and make the necessary adjustments in their technique to counter the bounce and seam movement.

LQ should've arrived in Sydney at least two weeks before the start of the tournament like they did so last year so they could fit in a new practise games- allowing the players to adjust to conditions. This LQ side arrived a couple of days out before their first game and played the sole warm up. Of course they'd be hammered.

Replace LQ with Pakistan and BBL with Australia and this would sound very familiar!

I watched highlights of one of the matches and the pitch looked like the outfield grass. The bounce was deadly. Should be a good experience for LQ’s youngsters who mostly play on wickets where the ball does not get above knees.

They also played poorly against spin.

The bowlers looked quick but struggled to find the right length.

Also Usman Qadir doesnt look like having captaincy skills. he looked vey dull and boring with no interest in leading the side. They were hardly celebrating after taking the wickets. As a leader you should inspire everyone , be excited and alert and keep everyone on their toes. Qalandars need a better captain than Usman next year.

Do you know if Haris is playing grade 1 or 2 ?

Inzamam Ul Haq becomes a Qalandar and joins as Advisor and Four Qalandars Rising Stars players sign contracts with Australian Clubs

Lahore– 5th November 2017: Lahore Qalandars Rising Stars Team completed their trip to Sydney after participating in the Sydney Quad Cup competing against the likes of Hobart Hurricanes, Sydney Thunder & Sydney Sixers. Even though the results were not satisfactory and Rising Stars team could not win but the experience for the youngsters was unbelievable and while they did not win, some players caught attention in Australia and were regarded as top talents due to which different Cricket clubs from Australia signed 5 months contracts with four players. Usman Qadir, Ghulam Rabbani, Salman Irshad and the young fast bowling prodigy Haris Rauf all were signed up by clubs in Australia and will immediately join up with their teams in Sydney.

Usman Qadir and Salman Irshad have signed contracts with Hawkesbury Cricket Club while Ghulam Rabbani was snapped up by Paramatta District Cricket Club and Haris Rauf will play for Western Suburbs Cricket Club.

Pakistan’s legendary and one of the all-time greats Inzamam Ul Haq has officially joined Lahore Qalandars as Advisor, Franchise Affairs. This becomes another major move by Lahore Qalandars in their path towards development of cricketers, and success in the upcoming third edition of Pakistan Super League. There is no doubt that Inzamam’s vision and experience will be extremely helpful for Qalandars.

Aqib Javed said “The purpose of taking these boys to Australia was to provide them with exposure and naturally help them adapt to a different environment outside of Pakistan. It is extremely exciting that four of the players got contracts in Sydney and this is terrific for their development”

C.E.O Atif Rana stated “Inzamam is a great of the game, and is a hero of Pakistan. Inzamam joining us will only make us better as his experience will be invaluable to Qalandars. We are excited to have Inzi bhai on board with us”
