[PICTURES] Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra get married in Jodhpur [Update Post #4]

And with those words, musician Nick Jonas confirmed Saturday that he's officially engaged to "Quantico" star Priyanka Chopra.
His future bride shared a similar sentiment.

"Taken ... With all my heart and soul," Chopra posted on Instagram with a photo of them lovingly gazing into each others' eyes. They posted the photos after what Indian media described as a traditional engagement ceremony in her home country. Jonas arrived in Mumbai with his parents Thursday night for the ceremony, according to CNN affiliate News 18.

"The only way to do this ... with family and God. Thank you all for your wishes and blessings," Chopra posted.

The news ends weeks of speculation after a huge rock was visible in a photo of Chopra and Indian actress Raveena Tandon that the latter posted on Instagram on Tuesday.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas got married on December 1 in Jodhpur’s Umaid Bhawan. The wedding, loved by millions of their fans, has also garnered sharp responses from few for being ‘brand obsessed’. However, a recent article in New York Times’ The Cut (now deleted), has drawn widespread condemnation for its take on the Priyanka-Nick union.

Priyanka has responded to the article saying she did not want to react to such “random things”. Speaking to Hindustan Times, she said, “I don’t even want to react or comment. It’s not even in my stratosphere. I’m in a happy place at this moment. These kind of random things can’t disturb it.”

The TheCut article saw poorly of the said union: it called Priyanka a “global scam artist” whose PR machinery was looking out for a romance for her. It said that while Nick was only looking out for “a fling” with Hollywood’s latest “It woman”, the American singer was looking straight at a “life sentence”.

“All Nick wanted was a possible fling with Hollywood’s latest It Woman, but instead he wound up staring straight at a life sentence with a global scam artist.”

Saw an incredibly poorly written, racist and judgemental piece on #PriyankaChopra in @TheCut. Forget the subs, don’t the esteemed editors whet the piece before you allow such misogynistic and damning drivel to be published? Meanwhile, more power to [MENTION=544]Priya[/MENTION]nkachopra.


The article has been at the receiving end of a lot of online flak: Twitter descended on it in rage called it, among other things, “sexist” and “racist” to “judgmental”. The article has since been taken down. An editor’s note on the page says that the article has been removed as it did not meet up to their standards. They also apologized for it.


A note on The Cut read: “Last night, the Cut published a post about Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s relationship that shouldn’t have gone up. We’ve received dozens of messages from readers expressing their anger. We want you to know that we hear you and we’re sorry. The whole piece missed the mark. There is no good explanation for this other than human error and poor judgement. This was a mistake, and we apologize to our readers and to Priyanka and Nick.

(CNN)Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have welcomed their first child.

The couple, who have been married for three years, shared their family news on Instagram Friday.

"We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family," they each wrote.

They did not share the baby's name or gender.

Chopra, 39 and Jonas, 29, married in 2018 in India. It was an extravagant three-day affair.

The couple first met in 2017 and took their romance public in 2018. They were engaged after just four months of dating.

In an interview earlier this month with Vanity Fair, Chopra spoke about the couple having a baby in the future but did not mention that they were already expecting.

"They're a big part of our desire for the future," she said. "By God's grace when it happens, it happens."
