Looking forward to a cracker of a game!

Why on earth players like Gul, Farhat, Sami,S Tanvir... still playing?

They can play as long as they want, its there choice, its their bread and butter, as long as they did not retire by themselves they have the every right to play as same as you guys have the every right to critisize. Hope you got it :)

People have no heart. Cricketers can play as long as they want, provided that coach wants the player in the team.

It’s their bread and butter and you can’t tell them what to do

Ali guy needs to really motor too slow for 20 20...Central Punjab lost as they got a small total even with 7 wickets left

It's fine if the older players stay, as this is their job and how they pay for daily expenses. However if the coach is keeping them and holding back better players then that is wrong.

Everything has to be on merit. If the old guy in domestic is doing well then obviously the team will keep him. But if he isn't and is just holding the spot due to his seniority, then that's wrong. It's how it works in normal jobs.

I still don't get how Haider Ali didn't get a go. The guy was playing t20 innings in first class.

Sami is playing for the 2nd XIs.

Gul and Farhat have both been very poor, they are obviously well past it and their teams should have dropped them by now.

Tanvir has done well in patches and is now the highest wicket-taker.

Tbh Sohail Tanvir has done well in this tournament, he must have the aspiration to play next T20 World cup.

Balochistan bench strength is very weak hence Imran Farhat and Umar Gul are playing

Northern is too strong to lose. KP had the potential, but they blew it away by leaving the chase till the last over. I don't see Northern losing this. Imad Wasim is an impressive captain.

tallatt and Amaad bowling really well here...Northern doesnt have a clue i think they will struggle

What's the score

Extremely unfair on such a fine talent. Would have been better for him to play all second XI games and make an impression like Zeeshan Ashraf instead of entirely sitting on the bench for legside hacks like Naved Malik

Shadab batted well for a role he is not really suited to.

I can't believe he wasn't selected for the Test team as a number 7 batsman and spinner. Would have added more balance to the side. He has the ability to play the short ball well too.

Is there any point of lip sync singing? If it is not live, then it is not worth wasting money on. I guess PCB invited this female singer just to keep the crowd seated till the presentation ceremony, lol, nothing else.

I could hear her even like this all day.:P

She's quite talented. second best female singer after QB.

Also vital for experienced players to play domestic cricket so that they can pass on their knowledge, skills, experience to younger, inexperienced players.

They need 61 from four overs.

Amad and Talat gone so chances over.

Faisalabad, 24 October 2019:

Northern beat Balochistan by 52 runs at Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium to win the National T20 Cup 2019-20.

The Imad Wasim-led side set a 168-run target after being asked to bat by Balochistan captain Haris Sohail.

Umar Amin’s brilliant 38-ball 60 at the top of the order provided a solid foundation to Northern. The left-handed opener struck six fours and three sixes.

For his exploits with the bat, Umar bagged man-of-the-final award.

An unbeaten partnership of 58 runs between Mohammad Nawaz and Shadab Khan ensured that Northern finished their innings on a high.

With two fours and a six, Nawaz cracked an unbeaten 25-ball 31, while Shadab scored 25 not out, studded with two fours, from 15 balls.

Balochistan stuttered in the chase early on as they lost Imam-ul-Haq (9 off 10) and Bismillah Khan (0 off 1) off Sohail Tanvir’s two consecutive deliveries in the third over.

With 32 runs from 26 balls, which had five fours, Imran was the highest scorer in the run chase.

I just dont understand the criteria set for the best wicket keeper award. I mean why is it given to the one who gets the most catches/stumps. Rohail Nazir missed a few catches in this tournament and compared to others far more catches came his way but his glove work was no way as good as Rizwan or Bismillah

Northern players lifting cups, Imad, Tanvir,Zia Coach Mohammad Wasim is also from northern punjab, Shoaib Akhthar will be a very happy man sitting with Doctor Noman and Rashid Latif
YAHAN K PLAYERS HI TAGRAY HAIN JAN MAARTY HAIN :D

I continue to be amazed at how exceptional Sohail Tanvir is in domestic T20 tournaments. He may end up as the best domestic T20 bowler of all time

Balochistan fined for slow over-rate

Faisalabad, 25 October 2019:

Balochistan have been fined PKR25,000 for a minimum over rate offence during their National T20 Cup final against Northern at Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium on Wednesday.

The Haris Sohail-led side was found to be two overs short of their target against Northern.

Haris was charged for the violation of article 4.2 of Appendix 2 of the PCB Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel by the on-field umpires Ahmed Shahab and Asif Yaqoob.

Haris pleaded guilty and accepted the sanction imposed by match referee Mohammad Javed.

A statistical look at National T20 Cup

Lahore, 25 October 2019:

As many as 190 sixes and 484 fours were smashed over 10 days of cricket during the National T20 Cup at Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium.

Batsmen from Northern, the title winners, hit 30 per cent of the sixes, thanks to Asif Ali. The hard-hitting middle-order batsman hit 19 off his side’s 56 sixes, with 10 of them coming in an innings.

Runner-up Balochistan struck 109 fours, which were the most by any side in the tournament.

The batsmen’s domination continued over the course of 18 matches as 5,448 runs were scored as 26 half-centuries and two centuries – both from Central Punjab batsmen Babar Azam and Ahmed Shehzad – were cracked.

Boasting a star-studded bowling lineup which included Mohammad Amir, Shadab Khan, Sohail Tanvir, Imad Wasim, Musa Khan and Haris Rauf, Northern were expected to be the strongest bowling unit of the tournament.

They lived up to their reputation taking the most number of wickets for a team with 59 scalps. Overall, 221 wickets were taken in the tournament.

Reviewing his team’s performance, Northern captain Imad Wasim said: “Our batting and bowling was way ahead of the other teams and to win such tournaments all members of the side need to rise to the occasion which the players of my team did.

“Though this was a domestic tournament, we played for our pride.”

As T20 format is never expected to be bowler friendly, only one five-wicket haul was recorded in the tournament, which went to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Usman Shinwari.

The left-arm fast-bowler took five wickets for 13 runs against Northern in the first semi-final of the tournament, which his side lost by three runs.

His captain Mohammad Rizwan bagged the player of the tournament award for scoring 215 runs, with two fifties, and dismissing six batsmen behind the stumps in six matches.

The best batsman and best bowler of the tournament were Awais Zia and Sohail Tanvir for scoring 276 runs and taking 14 wickets in seven matches each.

Pakistan U19 captain and Northern wicketkeeper-batsman Rohail Nazir bagged the best wicketkeeper award with seven dismissals in seven matches.
