Indians are very superstitious, neither the jersey color will change nor the jersey number of players.
It's not superstitious. It's a basic marketing plan that pakistan lacks in. You should not change your kit colour. You can change its contrast but not the whole colour. See, the kits give the sense of identity to sporting teams. The lesser they vary, the better they can connect with casual fans.
See the change in Pakistan kit from 2011 WC to the 2015 WC. All the way from darkest green to lime green. And now the darker one again. Continuity has to be maintained for the kits albeit with a minor change in designs or contrasts.

correct me if I'm wrong but India did change their kit during 2012 World t20 as they were not winning matches and blamed the new kit (color) for it.
if this is not being superstitious I don't know what is

Expected a better kit from England. Their CT 17 kit was pretty nice.
That is a really obnoxious colour.
The design of the kit isn’t that bad but just a really terrible colour.

Fans were calling out that - Pak Kit was bad. Pak kit is the best so far i have seen in the WC. We only lacked a quality sponsor like adidas or nike. Otherwise the design is awesome.
I'm probably in the minority but I think it looks quite good!
The dark blue is quite bland but this looks electric!

Afghanistan national shirt colours: What is the significance of blue for their national team?
I started the match yesterday when it was already underway, and for a few seconds was wondering if it was the right match. Afghans wear a blue shirt almost identical colour to the Indian national side which is confusing initially, but even more so as I don't see blue anywhere on their flag. What is the significance of blue for the Afghan cricket team? Anyone have information on this?

I know Mamoon has mentioned that India is putting a lot of resources into Afghanistan cricket with access to first class cricket structure and coaching, but I doubt the Afghan would have so little self respect that they would try to pose as Indian reserve team. Must be a better explanation.

This always bugs my mind how do countries come up with national colors that aren't even in their flag. Like Australia have always worn yellow/gold but there isn't even a hint of it on their flag. NZ wear black, England wear all kinds of shades of blue, India wear blue, SL wear blue. I think Pak, BD and SA are perhaps the only countries that wear the colors of their flags.

New Zealand's black comes from their blackcaps nickname, which they were named in 1930's.
India's blue comes from the wheel in their flag.
Australia: Green and Gold are their national colours, hence why the use these two colours across all the sports. Just like the Dutch use orange.
No idea about Srilanka and Afghanistan.

This has been discussed in the past, and an Afghani poster explained the significance of blue quite comprehensively.
The blue colour in the Afghan jersey isn't because of the flag but becuase it is kind of national color in Afghanistan. And it has a very long history.

Above is the blue stone, it has been used in Afghanistan for 1000s of years and therefore most of tombs you may see in Afghanistan are colored blue. Below is the shrine of Imam Ali

I see. In that case if I was designing an official Afghan shirt I would probably have picked the deeper blue as shown in the azure stone in the first picture, or the turquoise shade in the picture of the shrine. I think the only reason fans get confused with the Indian colours is because it is the exact same shade as Indians have worn for some time now.
For those who don't know history it almost seems like India is sponsoring the Afghan team and I am sure that is not the impression Afghans wish to convey. Afghan cricket board should look to bring out a new design for the next ICC competition.

SL kit looks the best. Most of the kits are pretty poor though. NZ normally make great kits but simple design this time.

If you go back to 2006-2007 Afghanistan shirt was blue colours. It has always been blue.
I don't understand why it's a problem that it looks like India shirt?
India has had many shades of blue and so has Afghanistan team.

Only the newer ICC full members that have jersey colours of an existing member has to have away kits. So India, NZ , WI, England and Pakistan don't have to have away kits. India has an away kit for fun ..... or perhaps to make $$$ from shirt sales.

According to guidelines every team has to have an alternate kit submitted. Maybe the ICC determined Pak/India/England have different enough kit from others that an alternate was not required.

I agree for SA and Bangladesh, not for the other 2. Afghanistan needs to go back to that grey kit from the 2012 WT20, it was amazing and unique.
