[PICTURES] ODI kits for all teams for the 2019 World Cup

Not all are reluctant. Bangladesh wore two kits in wt20 2016. South Africa and Sri Lanka did it in CT 2017. I believe England too have two kits (one blue and one plain red). Australia, New Zealand and Windies don't really need secondary kits as their colours are unique. It's only India and Pakistan who are reluctant.

Indians are very superstitious, neither the jersey color will change nor the jersey number of players.

It's not superstitious. It's a basic marketing plan that pakistan lacks in. You should not change your kit colour. You can change its contrast but not the whole colour. See, the kits give the sense of identity to sporting teams. The lesser they vary, the better they can connect with casual fans.

See the change in Pakistan kit from 2011 WC to the 2015 WC. All the way from darkest green to lime green. And now the darker one again. Continuity has to be maintained for the kits albeit with a minor change in designs or contrasts.

Spot on well said brother

correct me if I'm wrong but India did change their kit during 2012 World t20 as they were not winning matches and blamed the new kit (color) for it.
if this is not being superstitious I don't know what is

That is a really obnoxious colour.

The design of the kit isn’t that bad but just a really terrible colour.

Green shade : SA , BD, Pak,
Blue shade: Ind , SL , Afg , Eng
Yellow : Aus

Dunno what NZ and WI colors are?

England with an awesome kit! Call back to 1992 with a modern twist. Finally a different shade of blue from one of the blue teams.

Fans were calling out that - Pak Kit was bad. Pak kit is the best so far i have seen in the WC. We only lacked a quality sponsor like adidas or nike. Otherwise the design is awesome.

I'm probably in the minority but I think it looks quite good!

The dark blue is quite bland but this looks electric!

I think England's kit will look fantastic if they get matching pads and matching helmets (highly unlikely though).

Excellent maketing by england! Top will look great with a pair of jeans. Expect them to sell bucket loads to their fans( especially if they do well in the competition).

England’s colors are fantastic and a good omen for Pakistan

Man Johnny looks like someone you don’t wanna mess with anyways and on the cricket field this guy slaps the living hell out of that ball I’ve never heard the ball get striked so cleanly as he does I watched a bit of IPL and the balls he hit oh lord devastating

Love the kit, looks a bit better with the darker blue trousers though. Oddly only the main mens team were wearing the lighter trousers at the promo event so I wonder if it's just a World Cup thing.

Well your wish has been granted cause I just saw Jason Roy’s interview at the kit launch and he said they have matching pads and helmets with it as well

https://www.foxsportsasia.com/crick...et-world-cup-2019-colour-of-the-kit-revealed/

The Indian Cricket Team are set to don an away kit in the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 as reports claim that the International Cricket Council (ICC) will introduce home and away jersey concept for the tournament.

With England, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and India all wearing shades of blue, and South Africa, Pakistan and Bangladesh’s home colours green, the ICC has decided to introduce the home and away jersey system, New Indian Express reports.

The report adds that India will have an orange away jersey. However, the front of the kit is expected to be a darker shade of blue with the sleeves and the back in orange. The Virat Kohli-led side will reportedly wear the away jersey for their encounters against England and Afghanistan as they have been listed as the away side in those matches.

Moreover, as England are hosting the tournament, they will continue to wear their home jersey throughout. Pakistan will have the luxury to go ahead with their home jersey for their matches against South Africa and Bangladesh as they have been listed as the home side.

ICC are yet to make any official announcement on the same.

Can anyone confirm ? Personally it will be very awkward watching Indian team wearing orange coloured jersey.

India’s jersey is yet to be released and will see the players wear a darker blue in the front, whereas orange will dominate the sleeves as well as the back.

On the other hand, teams like Pakistan, Bangladesh and South Africa have a common colour – green jerseys. As a result, these teams will also need to look for alternatives for a few matches in the tournament. Australia, Windies and New Zealand should not have to change the colours since they already having distinct jerseys.

South Africa's kit looks horrible، looks like they're wearing hi viz vests. Used to love their kits but this one has to be worst of the lot.

Afghanistan national shirt colours: What is the significance of blue for their national team?

I started the match yesterday when it was already underway, and for a few seconds was wondering if it was the right match. Afghans wear a blue shirt almost identical colour to the Indian national side which is confusing initially, but even more so as I don't see blue anywhere on their flag. What is the significance of blue for the Afghan cricket team? Anyone have information on this?

To show their strength of friendship with India

I know Mamoon has mentioned that India is putting a lot of resources into Afghanistan cricket with access to first class cricket structure and coaching, but I doubt the Afghan would have so little self respect that they would try to pose as Indian reserve team. Must be a better explanation.

This always bugs my mind how do countries come up with national colors that aren't even in their flag. Like Australia have always worn yellow/gold but there isn't even a hint of it on their flag. NZ wear black, England wear all kinds of shades of blue, India wear blue, SL wear blue. I think Pak, BD and SA are perhaps the only countries that wear the colors of their flags.

I wonder how those countries picked the colors for their jerseys.

New Zealand's black comes from their blackcaps nickname, which they were named in 1930's.

India's blue comes from the wheel in their flag.

Australia: Green and Gold are their national colours, hence why the use these two colours across all the sports. Just like the Dutch use orange.

No idea about Srilanka and Afghanistan.

The blue is honour their boy friend India like seriously why do they dawn a blue jersey makes no sense

This has been discussed in the past, and an Afghani poster explained the significance of blue quite comprehensively.

The blue colour in the Afghan jersey isn't because of the flag but becuase it is kind of national color in Afghanistan. And it has a very long history.

“There is also in the same country [Afghanistan] another mountain where azure is found. It is the finest in the world and is got in a vain like silver.”Marco Polo (1271 AD)

"In Afghanistan, different kinds of gemstones can be found; in particular, there are great quantities of lapis lazuli (blue gems), emeralds (green gems), and rubies (red gems). The most famous is lapis lazuli. Afghanistan is one of the world’s biggest producers of this gem. The word “lapis” is the Latin word for stone, and the Arabian word “azul,” denotes the blue color.

This opaque, deep blue gemstone looks back at a long history. It was one of the first stones ever to be used and worn for jewelry. Excavations in the antique cultural centres all around the Mediterranean provided archeologists with samples of jewellery left in tombs to accompany the deceased into the hereafter. "

Above is the blue stone, it has been used in Afghanistan for 1000s of years and therefore most of tombs you may see in Afghanistan are colored blue. Below is the shrine of Imam Ali

So no, it has nothing to do with India or any other country, it has something to do with the nature and history of Afghanistan

I see. In that case if I was designing an official Afghan shirt I would probably have picked the deeper blue as shown in the azure stone in the first picture, or the turquoise shade in the picture of the shrine. I think the only reason fans get confused with the Indian colours is because it is the exact same shade as Indians have worn for some time now.

For those who don't know history it almost seems like India is sponsoring the Afghan team and I am sure that is not the impression Afghans wish to convey. Afghan cricket board should look to bring out a new design for the next ICC competition.

SL kit looks the best. Most of the kits are pretty poor though. NZ normally make great kits but simple design this time.

Of course it's fake. You don't change whole design of the kit for away colours.

Thank god.
Our current kit is alright. Just need to add a bit of orange here and there and it will look awesome. No need to change the whole design.

If you go back to 2006-2007 Afghanistan shirt was blue colours. It has always been blue.

I don't understand why it's a problem that it looks like India shirt?

India has had many shades of blue and so has Afghanistan team.

And Sri Lanka. And England.

Some bleed blue. Some are blue tigers.

Blue. Blue blue

really good kits at the WC this year, teams going for less is more.

India one looks like they have severe perspiration issues, bad design.

Indian Company Amul is actually chief sponsor of Afg Team, they also carry Amul's name on their jersey.

Out of shape, timid players will make even the best of kits look average on them. These discussions are quite useless.

Most kits are quite good.

Only the newer ICC full members that have jersey colours of an existing member has to have away kits. So India, NZ , WI, England and Pakistan don't have to have away kits. India has an away kit for fun ..... or perhaps to make $$$ from shirt sales.

According to guidelines every team has to have an alternate kit submitted. Maybe the ICC determined Pak/India/England have different enough kit from others that an alternate was not required.

I agree for SA and Bangladesh, not for the other 2. Afghanistan needs to go back to that grey kit from the 2012 WT20, it was amazing and unique.

I forgot about that one. It was unique. AFG with grey/red combo for kits would be :125:
