What's new

[PICTURES] Pakistan announce 15-man squad for T20I series against Bangladesh

So the usual has happened

The glorified seniors have avoided a tough tour to Australia only to come back as the saviours

This is just boring

We will be stuck with them for another World Cup of experienced failure

Dropping amir isn't right decision.

Averaged 30 vs Srl, 66 vs Aus and economy of 7.67 and 8.61 respectively with 4 wickets in 5 matches and 3 coming in one match. Not good enough for a white ball specialist.

Apart from Iftikhar Ahmed in the 2nd t20 vs Aus, and perhaps Mohammad Rizwan in the 1st t20 vs Aus, Babar didn't have a reliable batsman to bat with in that series, so in that regard recalling Malik and Hafeez isn't as bad as it seems. I just hope that the youngsters get this whole series to express themselves.

That is one of the worst T20 squads to have ever been named!

I wouldn't be surprised if BD manage to draw the series or even win it.

PCB wants the Pakistani crowd to come in large no.s to watch these jokes, Misbah, Shoaib Malik and Hafeez mafia?
Terrible is small word compared to the pathetic planning this team is doing before World t20.
Amir is dropped and new bowlers are added who are same as head coach are not experienced.

I am getting fed up of Malik and hafeez being selected on the basis of experience and guiding the youngsters.

The same logic was applied in 2019 world cup. Malik ended up embarrassing himself and Hafeez averaged 30. They both have consistently failed on the big stage.

Hafeez averages 20 in 22 T20 world cup matches with a SR of 105. He played at least 3 T20 world cups.

Sad times

Good to see Amir and Fakhar dropped.

Malik has been in good form, can’t ignore him. Don’t see why Hafeez has been picked as can no longer bowl.

Watch his last performance, where he was striking at 60, and brought the RRR up to 15 rpo then got dismissed. It took a miraculous performance by Pollard to clinch the game for his team.

Malik also gave 18 runs in his solitary over.

Either he's too incompetent, or he has been into some fishy business

Have not watched a single match for Pakistan since Misbah came and it looks like I wont be able to watch any in near future. Cant watch Pakistan team in doldrums and playing selfishly.

On top of this the mafia is back Shoaib Malik, Hafeez amd Misbah.

Imam needed to be dropped but dropping both Amir and Wahab leaving the inexperienced handling the bowling is stupid. Amir and Wahab deserved to be dropped for what they did against Pcb which has supported these bowlers over many better contenders, but they shouldve been removed from the contract list they are making quite a lot anyway.
Haris does not have a great first class record in Pakistan Musa is still work in progress.
Usman Qadir an rofl selection. Anyway cant expect anything good from Misbah. Will skip this series as well

I agree we should have had Abid Ali or Kamran Akmal as a wicket keeper as opener...Hafeez cant bowl apparently states on the cricinfo...

Bangladesh beat India recently in 20 20 so i dont think thats an easy series at all

Brilliant selections:
Hafeez (top player vs pace and spin in T20s)
Rauf
Ammad (PPers favorite, I don't rate him)
Shaheen
So many youngsters and debutants
Dropping Amir and Wahab - wonderful!!!

Pathetic selections:
Malik
Usman Qadir
Rizwan
Not selecting Umar n Kamran Akmals

Rest is a wonderful squad. Not in our history so many youngsters and debutants were picked.

I disagree with Babar Azam too on demanding Malik's selection.

Very decent squad picked and i am so happy for Ahsan Ali Ammad Butt Haris Rauf Khushdil Shah. They droped Amir is a mistake, negative points i see in the squads are Hafeez and Iftikhar.
Overall a decent squad as Amir can make a comeback, with so many positive points, and only 2 negative selections Hafeez & Iftikhar, selectors have done a decent job :)

Experience is great if you have something to share, these guys are perennial failures and because Shazad and Umar Akmal couldnt be picked because of the poor performances against Sl, we return to these old failures. Their selection is a step to nowhere.

He deleted the first tweet.

An absolute besharam.

Decent squad nonetheless with some questionable selections. Would prefer Hafeez over Asif any day of the week.

Nothing out of the ordinary and Misbah as expected is mediocre.

Rizwan is not a T20 batsman, pointless to persist with him in that format.

Muhammad Amir is an excellent T20 bowler. Pointless macho posturing from the management over Amir's test retirement. He is not interested in playing test matches, move on.

Im just waiting for Rohail to set the U19 WC on fire so we have a good WK option for LOIs.

Garbage team. It seems Misbah's team is never complete without at least 4-5 awful selections.

Also, don't understand Misbah's obsession with Musa Khan.

1. Babar Azam (captain)
2. Sharjeel Khan/Zeeshan Ashraf/Rizwan Hussain
3. Amad Butt
4. Haris Rauf
5. Iftikhar Ahmed
6. Mohammad Nawaz/Imad Wasim
7. Khushdil Shah
8. Mohammad Mohsin
9. Mohammad Hasnain
10. Mohammad Rizwan/Sarfraz Ahmed
11. Mohammad Amir
12. Shadab Khan
13. Shaheen Shah Afridi
14. Saif Badar
15. Wahab Riaz

This will likely be World Cup squad

Posters have expressed issues with Umar Akmal, Asif Ali previously and now with Malik and Hafeez. I dont mind Malik and Hafeez as the short term fix till the T20 WC as we dont have many players who can accumulate and clear the field as well when required.

Maybe one can argue that Hussain Talat should have been considered instead of one of Malik or Hafeez but there isnt any other name I can think of. If there are some hidden gems in the middle order I guess there names should be mentioned so that everybody can know about them.

I've seen less propaganda in Pravda. Only a few months ago:

Hawkeye on 27th October 2019 on Misbah:

And you're the kind who will discredit and ignore the revolutionary steps he has taken that nobody could dare to do in decades, discarding powerful lobbies of sarfraz, malik hafeez, and are repeating yourself like a broken record about 3-4 people you don't like.

On 1st November 2019 before Australia series:

The guy just came up with probably the best ever squad, full of promising youngsters, and here you are with your biases still spreading hate. Salute to him to moving our cricket forward, freeing us from the Mickey Arthur era of Sarfraz, Malik and Hafeez.

Titan24 on 27th October 2019:

Hafeez should understand that he is 38 and Malik is 37 so its high time for Pak team to develop players who can play in the next WC and have an overall longer future.

Now we're talking of short term fixes and lack of alternatives. Here's the facts. Hafeez and Malik, having been protected from an inevitable humiliation in Australia, are back for a home series against Bangladesh who are without their best player Shakib. These two will pad their stats only to let us down on the big stage again in the T20 WC. Only four months in and already Misbah, who I respect, is in job preservation mode.

As for the bowling, are we seriously saying Musa Khan is a better bowler than Mohammed Amir ? I didn't support Amir's decision to retire from Tests given PCB's investment in him even during the spot fixing affair, but it's his career and his life. This decision smacks of a petty personal vendetta on the part of Misbah and Waqar because there's no cricketing logic to choose Musa ahead of Amir regardless of the latter's recent form.

Whilst I support the selections of Haris Rauf and Amad Butt, Shadab Khan has no business being in the squad. Don't quote BPL form, he has regressed since his international debut but again, since he's Misbah's IU boy he gets a pass.

Copying my post from the other thread:

Hafeez since the 2019 World Cup

Global T20 Canada

5 matches, 85 runs @ 17
0 fifties

Vitality T20 Blast

4 matches, 115 runs @ 28
0 fifties

Caribbean Premier League

9 matches, 160 runs @ 18
0 fifties

National T20 Cup

3 matches, 65 runs @ 22
1 fifty

Qatar T10 League

4 matches, 80 runs @ 20
0 fifties

Total: 25 innings, 505 runs at an average of 20 with one fifty.

He was also banned by the ECB for chucking.

Additionally, his record in five T20 World Cups reads:

24 matches, 426 runs, average 20.28, 1 fifty (against BD).

13 wickets, average 35, economy 7.5

The experience we need :salute

Everything positive that was in this squad is spoiled by those two picks of Malik / MoHa. Considering that 2021 WC is in India, I believe they will be allowed to drag their Pakistan career for two more years. Quite harsh call for Wahab in that regard and I am not complaining for Amir for sure.

PS: congrats to Mian Malik for an international career spanning 4 decades; to my knowledge, only three other cricketers achieved that - Wilfred Rhodes, Sir JB Hobbs & SR Tendulkar. Have to say - quite worthy & befitting company for Malik indeed.

http://pakpassion.net/ppforum/showt...-and-me-out-of-the-side-quot--Mohammad-Hafeez

This is the thread I posted it on, yes on that day T20 squad was announced but, I clearly meant the next World cup not the next World T20 (which my typed words also manifested) which at that time was less than a year away. Teams try new players in T20s so that they can be promoted to ODIs so I was content to see experimentation because of that. The replacements in Umar Akmal, Shehzad, Imam, Haris clearly didnt show much to remain in the T20 squad. In ODIs we have some batsmen which can take us forward in T20s there arent any I can think of at the moment. Yes there are few young names but they will require some domestic and PSL performances to come into contention for T20 selections.

No surprises really Misbah has a preference for certain players Malik Hafeez Azhar Shafiq being his favourites it was inevitable there will would inclusion for them in the limited overs squads at some point.

So dont watch. Go watch India and other teams, cause clearly you guys don't support your own nation. In order to be a die hard fan you gotta support your team through thick and thin

Misbah and the selectors made a pool of players for the T20 world cup. He is trying to give everyone a chance.
Some people in PP are like Pakistans media. When Misbah dropped Malik and Hafeez, you guys were like,? why did he drop him. And now that he is giving them a chance, you guys are all upset at him. MAKE UP YOUR MIND!!!!!!

Great squad. My 11 would be:

Babar, Ahsan, Malik, Rizwan, Ifti, Hafeez,.Amad, Shadab, Shaheen, Rauf, Hasnain

Most of the posts you will see on squad announcement threads will be emotional outbursts with rarely anyone suggesting alternatives.

imad unfortunately is defo in ...with probably Shadab...Malik will play too hope not hafeez as he cant even bowl thats the three spinners..

I would play Rauf and Hasnain with Amad and rest Shaheen..

That would cover all areas...batting is what we need to pack which i am not sure how

Good squad, every single player that was dropped was correct fully dropped, and maybe should've been gone even earlier.
Particularly like the selection of Ahsan, Amad and Khushdil. Rauf was obviously going to get in.

The selection of Hafeez and Malik is tough to swallow. Hafeez especially, he done nothing while he has been out. At least Malik has some decent T20 performances.
Misbah doesn't seem to have a plan, just want to select experienced players regardless of performance. First Shehzad and Umar Akmal, keeping Asif around for so long, now Malik and Hafeez.

Musa and Qadir are also strange selections. Naseem would have been so much better.

Mediocre squad.

Overall a few good picks and a few bad ones.

Good to see guys like Rauf, Ahsan and Butt in there, but pathetic to exclude Amir.

As for the two seniors guys who are back....

Yea I might not watch this series

Pathetic squad. Exactly what you would expect from Misbah and this incompetent and clueless PCB regime.

Summed up beautifully.

A real slap in the face to those who were all raving about Wasim Khan's "professionalism" following the recent announcement of BCB's green light to tour Pakistan.

What these delusional individuals don't realise is that this is the same Wasim Khan who appointed the incompetent and disgraceful Misbah.

Misbah is a curse to Pakistan cricket. He has dropped players whom he had beef with (Aamir and Wahab) and what's the excuse for Fakhar. Fakhtar is the main reason we were #1 as he used to give us flying starts. With him not in the team, who is going to score fast?

The squad looks more suited for One days and not T20s. Pakistan was on a winning streak till the australia T20s before world cup where Sarfaraz and other players were rested. Why fix it if it isn't broke? Bring back sarfaraz as captain, include Fakhar, Aamir, Wahab and drop atleast Hafeez as he is all done now. Come on! Use the same pool of players that gave us the #1 ranking.

If we lose to Bangladesh at home, I say kick Misbah out of Pakistan cricket for good. He is an absolute curse and a failure as Captain, coach, selector and even a cricketer.

Zeeshan Ashraf or Zeeshan Malik. I heard a lot of malik not ashraf. Which team has picked him in PSL?

Zeeshan Ashraf. He is selected by Multan Sultans in diamond category. Zeeshan Malik Missed out.

They will most likely play this team

Ahsan ali
Babar
Hafeez
Iftikhar
Malik
Rizwan
Imad
Ammad butt
Shadab
Shaheen
Rauf

Looks like an odi team no big hitters at all

Contrary to popular belief it's one of the best squads I have seen in recent times. If inzi was here Amad, Khushdil, Ahsan would have never been picked. Also Babar was the one who asked for Malik and Hafeez so shouldn't you be blaming Babar? He is the captain so he's part of the selection process.

It doesn't matter what Babar wants (for T20Is) and what Azhar Ali wants (for tests), everyone knows Misbah is behind the selections. He is in fact an admirer of Hafeez and Malik because he has an appetite for mediocrity and older men.

Also Babar Azam was never my first choice as captain because I knew he wasn't ready.

Thread is about the squad chosen - stick to topic.

Pakistan squad for Bangladesh T20Is named

· Uncapped Ahsan Ali, Amad Butt and Haris Rauf named; Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik and Shaheen Afridi recalled for 24, 25 and 27 January matches in Lahore

· “We need to end our losing cycle and get back to winning habits, something that has played a critical role in our decision-making,” says Misbah-ul-Haq

· “I believe Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik still have plenty to offer to Pakistan cricket in the shortest format,” says Babar Azam

Lahore, 16 January 2020:

Pakistan have named uncapped Ahsan Ali, Amad Butt and Haris Rauf and recalled the experienced duo of Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik, along with pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi, in a 15-player squad for the 24, 25 and 27 January Twenty20 Internationals against Bangladesh in Lahore.

They have replaced seven players who were part of the 16-player squad that lost 2-0 to Australia in November. Players missing out on selection are Asif Ali, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Sohail, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Irfan and Wahab Riaz.

Asif, Fakhar, Haris, Amir and Wahab were also members of the squad that lost 3-0 to Sri Lanka at home in October.

26-year-old Ahsan scored 131 runs in five matches at a strike-rate of just under 149 in the National T20 Cup in Faisalabad in October after scoring 178 runs at a strike-rate of over 130 for Quetta Gladiators in the HBL PSL 2019, while 24-year-old Amad scored 80 runs at a strike-rate of 170 and also took 10 wickets at an economy-rate of 7.62 in the Faisalabad event. 26-year-old Haris, who took six wickets in Faisalabad, is the second leading wicket-taker with 16 in Australia’s Big Bash League.

Pakistan chief selector and head coach Misbah-ul-Haq said: “We have lost eight of our last nine T20Is and as the number-one ranked side, this is unacceptable. We need to end our losing cycle and get back to winning habits leading into the upcoming Asia Cup and ICC T20 World Cup. This has played a critical role in our decision-making.

“We tried our alternate combinations in the series against Sri Lanka and Australia, and obviously, these didn’t work the way we had expected. Hafeez and Shoaib bring a total of 200 T20Is between them and if you mix these with the other youngsters we have in the side, then I think it becomes a good blend of experience and youth.

“The seven players who have missed out on selection are by no means out of our planning but considering their recent form in international cricket and taking into account other strong performances in our National T20 Cup, we have decided to make these changes.

“The high-pressure and quality HBL Pakistan Super League 2020 is starting in four weeks’ time and if they can reclaim their winning form, then they will be back in contention for the upcoming assignments, including the Asia Cup and ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

“The matches against Bangladesh are part of our preparation, finding the right combination and building for the two major tournaments. The return of Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik and Shaheen Afridi gives us the experience and depth, while the exuberance of Ahsan Ali, Amad Butt and Haris Rauf gives the team more firepower, energy and all-round skill.

“Furthermore, the three have been rewarded for their performances in the National T20 Cup as we remain committed to give value to our domestic cricket by providing opportunities to high-performing players.”

Pakistan captain Babar Azam said: “I am happy with the selected squad and want to thank the selection committee for entertaining my request for Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik. I believe they still have plenty to offer to Pakistan cricket in the shortest format and their experience can be critical to our performances in the upcoming serie

“Ahsan, Amad and Haris have recently shown promise and talent, and I think it is the right time to throw them at the deep end to check their ability to perform at an international level. I am sure home crowd and conditions will complement their talent and they will be able to justify their selections.”

Squad for T20Is:

1. Babar Azam (captain) (Central Punjab)

2. Ahsan Ali (Sindh)

3. Amad Butt (Balochistan)

4. Haris Rauf (Northern)

5. Iftikhar Ahmed (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa)

6. Imad Wasim (Northern)

7. Khushdil Shah (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa)

8. Mohammad Hafeez (Southern Punjab)

9. Mohammad Hasnain (Sindh)

10. Mohammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper) (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa)

11. Musa Khan (Northern)

12. Shadab Khan (Northern)

13. Shaheen Shah Afridi (Northern)

14. Shoaib Malik (Southern Punjab)

15. Usman Qadir (Central Punjab)

Asif Ali Finally dropped thank God. Totally surprised by exclusion of Fakhar Zaman. Bit of shocker that Imam ul Haq got dropped, Amir & Wahab (Are these 2 being punished for abandoning test team)

Top player against pace :steyn

He's had his share of failures, like others, but Hafeez does have the ability to take on the pacers and spinners quite well. Has a range of shots, times the ball well.

Shown it several times. He's an upgrade over Asif, who wasn't doing anything anyway.

Ideally, it should have been Umar Akmal and Kamran Akmal.

Both could have been superb in the top order against pacers, have full ability to give us quick starts in AUS. There's still a lot of time left, so I hope Misbah sees this.

My WT20 team for AUS would definitely have:

Babar Azam
Sharjeel Khan
Umar Akmal
Kamran AKmal
Hafeez/Husain Talat
Shaheen
Rauf
Shadab/Imad

These are the people I basically want. The rest of the spots should be filled based on who does well in the months and series leading up to World T20.

Rizwan isn't really suitable to T20s, neither is Sarfraz - both average and accumulators.

Not a good squad but still a decent 11 can be picked from it.
I would keep out malik hafeez imad and musa

Markhor lol!! You really have a vendetta against Misbah and Waqar. That's very true, but I disagree on the Malik part. He doesn't offer us anything in AUS - can't play anything over 120kph, brother!

Misbah isn't being given enough credit for picking this squad. He deserves tons of credit and major kudos for being so bold.

Why?

He dropped:

- Imam ul Haq: he definitely wouldn't have been dropped under Arthur/Inzi
- Amir: Deserves to be dropped
- Wahab: Deserves to be dropped
- Fakhar: Deserves to be dropped
- Sarfraz: Glad he wasn't picked - major kudos

Picked:

- Amad: Flavor of the month, blue eyed boy, picked, means he's watching domestics
- Khushdil: Another favorite youngsta beauty here, though I'm skeptical
- Rauf: Needs no introduction
- Ahsan: Again, hyped a lot

I think we'll have 5 debutants. That's something unheard of. He also dropped some players which others wouldn't have the guts to drop.

This is out of the box and extremely bold.

Of course, there's Malik & Qadir that I don't like, really don't like. But, this shouldn't take away from the fact that overall the squad is quite good.

It would have been excellent had we picked Umar Akmal, Kamran Akmal and possibly Talat.

Khushdils selection has been overlooked his stats suggest its an odd selection averages 5 at a strike rate of 61 in domestic t20 only 5 matches but doesn’t seem his best format.

This is a good squad. Lots of youngsters picked. Not found of Malik and Hafeez but we did need the experience. Did you even read the post?. Babar Azam says he was the one who requested Misbah to pick the seniors, so blame Babar for it.

My issue is that the squad was picked with defeatist mindset. I read the whole post, you can clearly see Misbah said that we want to stop the losing streak. Defeatist mindset completely unfortunately, just like how he used to captain.

These following players shouldn't be in this T20 squad:
Usman Qadir
Hafeez
Musa
Rizwan

I honestly don't see any hitter in the team. Ahsan Ali unfortunately is no Fakhar, but lets see how he fares. All in all, it is the defeatist mindset that I have an issue with. This defeatist mindset or the fear of losing mindset has lost us so many games under Misbah (captain and coach). Unfortunatley things are to continue if he is a coach or selector. People like Misbah should be no where close to the team.

For the world t20 Sharjeel U Akmal Sarfraz should be recalled for Hafeez Rizwan and Malik.

Amad Butt is another questionable selection based on domestics stats an economy of almost 9 and a strike rate of 95 but he’s probably better than what he’s shown so far.

He’s not questionable look at his u23 Asia cup performances and Pakistan a performances perfect selection if people have a problem with his selection too than you lot will never ever be satisfied

Pakistan cricket is far from finished. There are lots of talent youngsters that emerge. We just need a system that can support these youngsters, which with this domestic structure, it will support youngsters. Just give two to three years and seasons and wait till you see inshaallah how good Pkaistan will be.

INSHAALLAH

Squad isn't half bad , but I would have liked to see Amir in the team. I understand that him retiring from tests was a selfish decision, but ultimately that is his decision to make. Why would you hurt the team by not including him ? I think he is performing well and should be an automatic pick for white ball cricket.

Hopefully some of these youngsters can perform and show us some power hitting. I think Umar Akmal and Sharjeel ( if he regains some form ) will be required in Aus.

I credit Misbah and Waqar for the selections of Rauf, Shah and Amad - even if they don't succeed in international cricket, at least they were picked on merit after strong domestic displays.

However where is the merit in picking Musa Khan, Usman Qadir, Mohammed Hafeez and Shoaib Malik ? Musa will be of no use in international cricket unless he somehow grows another 4-5 inches and was spanked in Australia.

Meanwhile no international team would tolerate 20 years of mediocrity from Hafeez and Malik, including many ICC tournaments where they failed to put their precious experience to any use. Yet here we are in 2020 thinking of flying these two duds against pace to Australia for another World Cup !

Meanwhile no international team would tolerate 20 years of mediocrity from Hafeez and Malik, including many ICC tournaments where they failed to put their precious experience to any use. Yet here we are in 2020 thinking of flying these two duds against pace to Australia for another World Cup !

I understand you're not liking Malik/Hafeez selection. However, Hafeez is still very useful in T20s, his ability to play pace and spin isn't bad at all. Better than Asif Ali.

Malik is a really poor selection, I agree. But, Babar vouched and demanded for Malik/Hafeez. Captain can't be overruled either, and I'm hoping there's no Malik in the World T20 squad - lots of time left.

A debutant got spanked in Aus - yes, why is that abnormal? He deserves a proper chance, once selected. Let's see where Musa ends up, chill.

Apart from Malik & Qadir, there aren't really any horrible selections, yet you're making it sound as if it's a terrible squad.

In fact, dropping Imam, Fakhar, Wahab - those are BIG deals and you should give Misbah credit there.

Overall - pretty good, but could have been better. Missing Umar, Sharjeel, Kami.

Squad for T20Is:

1. Babar Azam (captain) (Central Punjab)

2. Ahsan Ali (Sindh) - on what basis? His numbers are below average

3. Amad Butt (Balochistan) - The numbers reflect a decent bowlers but not a batsman of all round quality. Deserves a shot

4. Haris Rauf (Northern)

5. Iftikhar Ahmed (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa)

6. Imad Wasim (Northern)

7. Khushdil Shah (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa)
- what am I not seeing from his numbers? Is he special when watching?

8. Mohammad Hafeez (Southern Punjab) - should be retired

9. Mohammad Hasnain (Sindh)

10. Mohammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper) (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa)

11. Musa Khan (Northern) - I remember him form the PSL and he did not look that good. The number of games he has played since in the domestic circuit is tiny, what has he been doing since then?

12. Shadab Khan (Northern)

13. Shaheen Shah Afridi (Northern)

14. Shoaib Malik (Southern Punjab) - should retire

15. Usman Qadir (Central Punjab) - Umer Khan is better and younger. As are spinners who can bat such as Gohar and Nawaz.

Why has Amir been dropped?

Why is Husain Talat, who has better performances and overall stats than Amad Butt not included? What is the agenda against him in Pakistan? No problem in trying Butt but why not include Talat also? Ahsan Ali should never have been picked in the squad.

Why has Qadir's son been picked while Khan has looked the better spinner and there are at least two spinners who can bat waiting in the wings?

What is the thinking behind Malik and Hafeez being picked in 2020?

Misbah is starting to become intolerable and his tactics are blindingly obvious. Pick a handful of "youngsta beauties", some young "phaaast" bowler and sneak in useless names/people who have sources. This will sink Pakistan's T20 side completely and then people will moan that the team doesnt have the talent to make it in the format....when it clearly does.

The selection of Hafeez and Malik shows that they are afraid of a Bangla whitewash. Playing it safe. If experience can't get Misbah through then what could eh?

imad unfortunately is defo in ...with probably Shadab...Malik will play too hope not hafeez as he cant even bowl thats the three spinners..

I would play Rauf and Hasnain with Amad and rest Shaheen..

That would cover all areas...batting is what we need to pack which i am not sure how

What's unfortunate about Imad's selection? He is one of the best T20I bowlers in the world.

If any of you think Pakistan can win the World T20 without Malik and Hafeez you are sorely mistaken. You all may have forgotten the role they played in Pakistan's rise to the No.1 ranking, I have not. If they are performing and capable of making significant contributions then they should play.

The alternative is what everyone has already seen from our batting in the Sri Lanka and Australia series.

Rizwan is the more surprising selection for me. He lacks the ability to up the ante. And while he could well end up being a very good ODI and Test player, he is not cut out for T20Is.

KP and Bullet Drive will never stop lobbying for Shehzad.

The most undeserving player to play so many matches for Pak.

The selection of Hafeez and Malik shows that they are afraid of a Bangla whitewash. Playing it safe. If experience can't get Misbah through then what could eh?

I said the exact same thing above
