Lahore February 10: The HBL Pakistan Super League (HBL PSL) season three is set to enthrall millions of cricket fans across the world.

For the third year in succession, the tournament would be launched through a glittering opening ceremony on Thursday, February 22 at the Dubai International Stadium (DSC) featuring international quality stars.

The following is the Artists line-up for the ceremony.

-Abida Parveen-(Internationally acclaimed Sufi singer who will perform a Sufi Act. A Sufi medley of her best songs)

-Jason Derulo-(Internationally acclaimed American Pop music artist set to perform some his smash hit numbers)

-Ali Zafar-(Internationally acclaimed singer and rock star, the voice of HBL PSL who has produced the official PSL anthem for the third year running)

-Shehzad Roy-(Internationally acclaimed singer associated with the HBL PSL since the inception of the league)

-Other attractions include a fantastic display of fireworks.

The ceremony will begin at 7 pm UAE time.

The ceremony would be followed by the opening match of the tournament between defending champions Peshawar Zalmi and newcomers Multan Sultans

Abida Parveen!! Interesting choice of artists. Atif Aslam or Rahat might have been a better choice, as most of the fans are young. First time, I've heard of Jason Derulo so can't say his too popular. Zayn Malik or Rihanna would have been a better choice.

PCB disowns concert news at NSK

Lahore February 14: The PCB strongly rejects the news circulating on social media about a concert at Karachi's National Stadium on February 24.

The stadium is heading towards the Pakistan Super League final and any activity at the venue is barred.

PCB hopes that the organizers of the event will abstain from spreading rumours that are only misleading the public.

1. No speeches at all - especially by Najam Sethi
2. No eye candy anchors. Get professionals or just do announcements in the background
3. Start on time and finish on time. Preferably in 90 minutes.

Dubai February 21:

The HBL PSL Artist press conference was held today at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The curtain raiser for the opening ceremony of the third edition of the HBL PSL was held where the artists performing at the event spoke about their performances which are set to electrify the crowd at the Stadium tomorrow.

The star studded cast for the ceremony include some world class performers who have made their mark with their exhilarating and memorable songs that have touched a chord with millions of fans.

Keeping with the tradition the season three opening ceremony should dazzle the audiences at the stadium and the millions watching on their TV screens and through our LIVE stream around the world.

The ceremony is a wonderful reflection of Pakistan’s culture and heritage beautifully amalgamated with modernity, an internationally acclaimed artist like Jason Derulo will perform this year following in the footsteps of Sean Paul and Shaggy who made their mark at the first two editions of the HBL PSL.

Two young and upcoming movie stars who have already made an impression at the Pakistani showbiz scene Hareem Farooq and Bilal Ashraf will be emceeing the ceremony.

Speaking at the occasion the Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board Mr. Najam Sethi thanked the artists for taking part in the HBL PSL opening ceremony festivities, the chairman added that the participating performers will make the event a truly memorable one.

“The HBL PSL opening ceremonies in the first two seasons have set a very high benchmark and have raised the bar for sporting leagues around the world. Keeping with the tradition the season three opening ceremony should dazzle the audiences at the stadium and the millions watching on their TV screens and through our LIVE stream around the world.”

The artists who spoke at the press conference included:

All I’m saying is that it could be better. If we want this to be an international event then we really need to improve it.

Btw Jason didn't sing Wiggle Wiggle Wiggle. With everything else going on with the female dancers (for desi viewers) I don't think it would mattered much as half of them (especially the older generation) would have understood it anyway.
