Really really disappointing to see Imad Wasim drinking a can of Pepsi. our players young or old will never learn.

just to put it in context, Virat Kohli decided to terminate his multi million dollar sponsorship contract with Pepsi as he said "Pepsi didn't match the lifestyle choices he makes, and didnt want to promote a sugary drink to kids growing up as its something he didnt use himself".

Here we have a team captain casually having a can of Pepsi with his lunch.

Haha that is so harsh! Imad wasim shouldn't be allowed to have a bit of pepsi with his lunch? LOL :D. I don't have sugary drinks anymore to help manage weight, however you're having a right go at him based on one picture of drinking pepsi lol. Perhaps he only has it now and then?

Its not about now and then, i opened this thread a saw Imad drinking a can of Pepsi and Sarfraz having Rice with Chicken Masala.
Both these players barely just passed the last PCB fitness test, yet still they are drinking sugary drinks and eating rice. When will they learn.

Add to that the other day i saw a pic of Yasir Shah alongside Umar Akmal and other LQ players all had a can of Red Bull in their hand. Yasir Shah and Umar Akmal have both been called out for their fitness and Yasir even failed a fitness test recently yet they think drinking Red Bull is a good idea.

absolute morons. Its not the coaching staff its the players themselves that dont want to change, its an absolute joke international test playing cricketers in 2018 think its a good idea to have a can of pepsi with the lunch and cans of Red Bull when relaxing.

Even domestic players know better in other countries.

It's true that managing intake of sugary drinks is helpful in losing weight, and as there are a fair bit of fitness issues around our players perhaps they could manage that better if they are consuming such drinks regularly. However, there's no problem say if they indulge on special occasions like above.

Beautiful trophies - do they change the Winner's trophy every year or this one is fixed? Should be a fixed Champion's) trophy for every year.

Individual awards are perfect as well - WK & Fielders should be considered differently. Player of the tournament is likely to go to an all-rounder I guess.

By the way, Sarfraz must be suffering from high fever - guy had to wear about 3 jumpers under his QG jersey to keep him warm in the desert.

Batsman- Ahmed Shehzad
Bowler- Mohammad Nawaz
Player- Faheem Ashraf
Fielder- Shadab Khan
Wicket-keeper- Sarfraz Ahmed

It is a myth that soft drinks help in losing/regulating weight. It is the opposite. They have zero health benefits, and it is not acceptable for an athlete to indulge in them even during cheat days/meals.

I am not a fitness freak, but I have not had a soft drink since 2016 - not even a diet one, and although I craved it for the first few weeks, I was able to get over it quickly and I do not even think about it now.

What’s the problem in a normal person having them from time to time ?

There was a good opportunity to have this in Pakistan.. an evening wouldn't have been such a huge problem for anyone

It does no good to your body. It has practically zero health benefits so I have no incentive to consume them. Perhaps it was easier for me because I was never a big fan and only enjoyed them with fast food.

I am trying to eliminate sugar altogether from my diet but it is difficult. I do not have a taste for desserts, but having tea without sugar is almost impossible.

It would have been nice but it was not cost-efficient. The PCB would have had to provide incentives to McCullum and Sammy to make a one day trip to Pakistan, and also provide additional security. Simply not worth the money and the effort.

Indeed that's what I said, managing intake of soft drinks as in keeping it to a minimum/stopping can be helpful in losing weight. I personally stopped having soft drinks for some years, but replaced it with diet drinks because it was difficult to stop all together. But I have further reduced intake of diet drinks now, and I have it sometimes, but most of my intake coming from diluted juice.

true under any other circumstances. But pakistan should grab any opportunity to showcase any kind of international cricketing activity in Pakistan. It will create the buzz and the good feeling that goes with it.. you cannot value that

after having tried all kinds of soft drinks for a number of years I never developed the taste for it... after having lived around colleagues, friends who continuously gorge on soft drinks, I am yet to pay for a can of soda for myself in my life...

coming back to topic, no sportsperson should drink it on regular basis any kind of soft drinks. Advertising should be completely banned.. my respect to Virat went up when he distanced himself from Pepsi as soon as he could. For a normal person it may be okay to consume one or two cans once in a while, but as a sportsperson, it is something that they need to completely avoid

If Sethi saab is good at one thing its mrketing... bringing trophy via helicopter lool
