So Imran Khan has been dropped?
And good to see Abbas, Raza and Usman Salahuddin being in the camp.

Hahahahaha.

Shan Masood???? Our nation is being trolled again. What has gone into Inzi?

Actually I'm pretty sure Inzi had no role in his selection or call to camp.

Good to see no Imran.

so Pakistan still not picking Mir Hamza

Asad Raza is the young guy bowling swingers at decent pace, so fair enough; though I am not sure if he is more than 5'10" - in that case wasted investment. Unless he can clock 145KM+

Khalid Usman is probably the 35 years old ISLU's SLAO spinner who managed to convince Misbah for PSL, now Inzi for WI - at the expense of Gohar.

One interesting observation is that, Izni kills the competition - instead of calling both Gohar & Usman, he has made sure that Khalid doesn't have a direct competition, though I am not expecting him in WI. Rest are fine, though I would have called Imam & another right arm pacer, may be Asif, for a last look.

Entire culture is like that can't blame one. At least he didn't call Iftekhar ..........

The test squad will be

Azhar
Shehzad
Hafeez
Babar
Yk
Misbah
Shafiq
Salahuddin
sarfraz
Rizwan
Yasir
Amir
Wahab
Asghar
Rahat

he just changes names otherwise ifti chacha is relatively younger at least on paper....this inzi guy is doing wonders on one side by making some good choices and rewarding domestic performers but usman khalid has done nothing substantial...

nice to see Abbas and Raza in the camp, but disapointed to not see some of the other guys, and Rahat still in the camp, he'll be selected most likely

Imam's injury came at a wrong time, otherwise he would have been in this camp, he was the 3rd highest scorer of the last QeA trophy.

good to see Salahuddin though.

same rubbish selection rahat ali, yasir shah, khalid usman , and misbah. these guys have failed so many times in australia and nz. I'm hoping the test team gets humiliated in WI otherwise these oldies will continue for another five years.

No left handed bat in the middle order yet again. Fawad Alam prepares his CV for the next clerical job vacancy because clearly his cricket career is going nowhere in Pakistan.

Shan Masood? Rather have Ahmed Shehzad, since Imam-ul-Haq is injured.

Sohail Khan? OK so he's not fit/young for LOIs so let's pick him in Tests, which is also his worst format.

Asad Raza is a random selection. Took 10 wickets in an innings a few months ago, but I'd rather have someone like Mir Hamza or Ehsan Adil (if not the unselectable Sadaf Hussain) instead.

Khalid Usman is 31. He adds nothing, and I'd much rather have Gohar/Asghar or even Nawaz. I'm hoping the only reason Gohar isn't in this camp is because he is still in Bangladesh for the Emerging Cup.

Great to see Salahuddin and Abbas there.

Disappointed for Fawad. Guy deserves way way better.

hopefully Fawad will get a chance after Misbah and Younis retire

No Imran Khan? Shame, I liked him. Happy Aslam is there, I will be seriously annoyed if he doesn't make the squad

Imran Khan is trash.

Apparently 28 and still struggled to bowl over 130 km/h.

Usman Salahuddin was in hot form for Punjab 3-4 years back. Was very difficult to get him out.
Dont know what happened to him after that.

So Rahat Ali is still here, Sohail will continue to be selected for the wrong format, Shan Masood will still somehow stay... Oh god...

Off course Shan is there because of his good attitude and outstanding domestic record, including his amazing average of 34.

Disgusting, just because he is a nice guy doesn't mean we shouldn't call it for what it is. I'm sure plenty of other with less prestigious upbringings are nice as well

Inzamam has no idea what he is doing, we have gathered that. But who is holding him accountable for these selections?

Azhar, Shehzad, Shaan, Misbah, Younis, Asad, Salahuddin, Sarfaraz, Ashgar, Yasir, Amir, Wahab and Rahat Were not in pak cup draft list nor are anyone of these guys selected in pak cup.....so, expect all of these in test squad....may be one among wahab and Amir given rest.....and may be Aslam displace one among shehzad and shaan.....

this asad raza is a teenagar what is the emergency to call him in the team...... him being in the camp is a good development but shouldn't be in the team...

this us ridiculous inzi is wasting the career of IMAM UL HAQ only becoz he fears the charges of nepotism. .... imam should definitely be there.he is way way ahead of shan masood.... thus is ridiculous. .... INZI get IMAM in the team

bro he's injured

After some research on Cricinfo:
Khalid Usman took 34 wickets in the QeA Trophy at an average of 20. He also has a FC batting average of 27.
In comparison Zafar Gohar took 23 wickets at an average of 29. His FC batting average is 15.

Now I am not saying that we should select the team based on stats alone. Factors such as age and future potential should also be considered. But I can totally understand why someone like Khalid Usman was called for the camp. Maybe Misbah wanted to have a closer look at him. Nothing wrong with that. Don't understand the outrage. Personally I feel there is very little chance of him being selected for the final squad anyway.

I think many posters on here misunderstand that this is only a camp not a final selection. Half of the team is already in the Caribbean. It's good to tune up those old legs and a few peripheral players. Good on Inzi to keep his eye on developing a large squad of players. Wish he would do more for the A teams tours.

Shan masood and Rahat Ali must be selected again to fill the "useless players" quota that pakistan has to fulfill in each series.

Pakistan invested in Mir Hamza by selecting him in multiple Pakistan A tours and he produced the results by being the best bowler from Pakistan on these tours. Now the natural progression should be that he is selected in national test team especially considering that all of the current test team bowlers have either not performed good or are not fit enough. Only Wahab is the automatic choice. And yet Inzi has selected Rahat (not good enough) and Sohail (not fit enough) again and not Mir Hamza

Good to see Usman Salahuddin and Mohammad Abbas there.
Syed1 you questioned whether Inzy would do justice to domestic performers but it looks like both are on the verge of Test selection.

Why are people confusing Imran Khalid with Khalid usman , its Faisalabad 's Imran Khalid who is Misbah's friend not Khalid Usman the KPK Guy , its the KPK guy who is selected

http://www.espncricinfo.com/pakistan/content/player/316318.html
This 31 year old Khalid Usman

http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/player/40869.html
and this is 34 year old Imran Khalid

Both apparently Left arm spinners who can
bat a bit

pls dont say that... we saw how good Imran Khalid can bat... For an int'l team he is the no.11 ....

Nowadays the standard for a no.11 batsman is to atleast bat like Wahab riaz or Amir or Sohail Khan..

Why are they getting in a slow left armer who is 31 years old?

We already have Nawaz who has performed alright. Asghar and Zafar Gohar are also young SLA.

True, Khalid had a decent FC career as well. Probably none (Gohar the other one) will make the squad because of Asghar. Point is, it's for an option, therefore both should have been called.

Also, since Inzi is open to call 35 years old batsmen, WK & 32 years old spinners; Off spinner Tahir Khan should have got a call, considering that PAK's best off spinner is Malik or Iftekhar (MoHa doesn't "bowl" anymore these days). Hamza had a fantastic FC season, neither called.

These indicates to me that Inzi isn't much into domestic stats - Asif Zakir's last few domestic scores also indixat s such.

Good to see Usman Salahuddin and Mohammad Abbas there.

Typical Inzi style of picking a few of performing youngsters coupled with a handy dose of TTFs.

Rahat Ali being there hurts but at least Imran has been dropped and so has Sohail Khan (?). Nice to see Aslam being persisted with and a couple of new names in the picture. Inzamam is doing a fantastic job of slowly but surely purging the team of any non-performers but also not being reactionary and dropping half the team because of failures in totally different conditions to ones we'll encounter this year.

The best Chief Selector we ever had.

Rahat is sad, maybe he knows his days are numbered in test squad:rahat

poor guy, should focus on t20 now and try to break through Karachi's bowling line up

I am very unhappy with Pak cricket these days. I want misbah (and yk) to leave from tests and I want Hafeez, shehzad, akmal, Malik banished from the limited overs teams. Guess I have to grin and bear it till end of this test series and champion trophy

Probably Management is desperately trying to find one offie, who makes the team on batting merit & can give 10-12 overs when a pair of lefti is batting. Otherwise no point trying Asad at this age - saw him bowling in nets for last few months & regularly in domestics as well.

Windies should find a way to get some juice in their wickets. Could ambush pakistan who are playing too many 30+ years batsmen
