Okay guys, calm down! I think this https://twitter.com/ImRaina is a fake account. I just looked at the wallpaper, background picture or whatever it is called and it has the following one (see the attached image).

I think this is photo-shopped because Suresh Raina cannot offer such a forward defensive stroke even in his dreams:yk.

Afridi na jhoot kab bola? Initially i was against what Afridi said but Raina/Kambli's tweet prove that what Afridi said was completely true.

Australia lost to us who gave you nice drubbing in super 8. AAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNDDDDDD lasting for more 3 days will mean a lot to any team be it Australia or West Indies tomorrow. You need to increase your standards as you don't value lasting 3 more days.
 
Besharam is a team that in spite of having the so called IPL contracts worth millions, have failed to qualify for the semi finals of the T20 World Cup for 5 years.

Being kashmiri pandit,he may be having personal grudge against Pakistan due to his up bringing.

The only thing that gets me is our players when we will next face raina and the rest of the indians like gambhir, kholi and yuvraj. they'll have serious game face on and swearing left right and centre and we will be meak lambs again, smiling and trying to impress them as gavaskar said.

Hopefully players grow a pair and take aggrression out on opposition rather than helmet and bat

I don't want any apology. This is what he really thinks. What good will a fake apology do ? Just wish he didnt delete the tweet as it would have been fun with the replies he got. Certainly I would have given him a piece of my mind.

I just wish some of the Pakistan players (maybe some are after IPL) would stop licking Indian boots and play just as hard as they do. Obviously I don't want them making these same pathetic comments but at least play hard ball on the field.

not defending Raina if you could see my posts..what he did was classless..but before any Pakistani criticizes him...I would like to know their opinion about Afridi's remark..when he said that Pakistanis and Muslims..hearts are big..and an Indian cannot have a heart like them.. well..that statement has some contradictions but Afridi being Afridi..let us give it to him..

stupid comment from Raina. It was unwarranted coming from a player. Do what you have to do out on the field and shut up off the field. I didn't have a problem with his attitude on the field, it was in the heat of the moment in a highly contested game. Obviously, that has limits as well. It's a bad idea to taunt the crowd as a player. You always end up on the losing side. Bottom line, Raina should shut up and play and leave the trash talking to the fans.

However, I do feel like creating a twitter account and telling raina just how bad he really is.

Lol bharti players crying as usual. We made it to the semis for the 4th straight time while India has yet to make the semis since 2007. Atleast we can walk out of the field with our heads held high.
 
Initially I thought it was a fake tweet - However after having seen the pic in post #111 by UsmanhailsAfridi I think the tweet is pretty damn real.

They are a number of things here:

Im actually a big Kohli fan and feel players like Raina & Ghambir can learn a thing or two from Kohli not only about batting but also about how to handle them selves in the media. The way Kohli dealt with the media when asked about Aus deliberately loosing to Pak was fantastic and what you'd expect from a professional sportsman.

I see Kohli as passionate whilst Ghambir & Raina come across as arrogant. Being pumped up when scoring the winning runs or a century is passion - aka. Umar Akmal running 100m in 10 seconds flat after hitting the winning runs VS Aus.

Geting into the face of players much senior then you - aka Ghambir & Afridi - or telling the crowd to be quiet when you take a catch even though your place in teh competition is in jeopardy - aka Raina on Sunday VS Pak - That is arrogance.

On what basis ? The wimp ducks and dives as soon as someone bowls a good bouncer at his head.

He averages 28 with the bat in Test cricket. Unless your a IPL fan its Test cricket that separates the best with the rest.

Raina is a front foot hack. A good one at that, but as soon as its short he running away to square leg.

Your sarcastic clapping smiley and he being from India, dosent change the fact he is one of the best finishers of the game. P.S: If you do not have exceptional talent, you cannot feature in Indian playing X1 as we country full of batsmen. Same as what pakistanis can claim for bowling talent.

Not because he is Indian, I hate him because he takes his game up a couple of notches everytime he plays us. Always wins the game for his side, and he oozes arrogance and vanity, something I absolutely despise..

But, where were the self righteous posters in this thread when Sohail Tanveer vomitted his famous "Hinduon ki zehniyat" crap on national television or when your very own supporters were at the stadium with "Kohli's dad" on their shirts (For the uninitiated, kohli's dad died a few years ago and he counts him as his biggest inspiration)

tbh, I don't even think many Pakistani supporters know this and Indians are reading too much into it (understandable). Even I only learnt of it during this tournament and these supporters are most likely ignorant, it's not really the style of Pakistanis to make fun of these sort of things, and I'd further doubt they'd do it so openly. Most players' personal lives are kept much more personal in Pakistan than in India. The original set of these shirts were seen during the WC when they said Yuvi ka baap, making fun of the player they consider the biggest threat - I guess that's moved on to Kohli now.

Obviously, if they are aware of the context then it can't be defended.
 
idiotic and childish from Raina and the same goes for Afridi and Sohail's comment. I am the first one who was disgusted by afridi comment and now am agahst by Raina's outburst. What's wrong with both Pakistani's and Indian's, why can't they understand that it's only a game that both nation enjoy with passion. But passion can never be misguided into racism and hate, please see the difference between them and have the guts to condemn when bigotry is on offer.

Find me one post in this entire thread where a single Indian has condoned his tweet. No one is saying what he did was right. Indians are just pointing out the hypocrisy among some Pakistani fans here who are surprised and aghast while at the same time many worse comments have come out of your camp.

On a personal note, this is why I rate guys like Sachin/Dravid etc. so highly. They used to talk a lot... but with their bats.
 
C'mon, the indians here have a point. IMO our fans should be more upset at the pakistani team when we play India and you see the likes of yuvraj, raina, kholi and gambhir showing passion and swearing at us and our players are fawning at their feet, probably to get some crumbs from the IPL pie.

Younus khan also recently said in mohali they came across a very passionate indian crowd the likes of which he had not seen before, this translates as the crowd were probably using all sorts of swear words at them involving sisters, death, religion? etc. Yet look how timid they were that day. They were nervous as anything and worried about themselves.

If you look at it from another perspective, you could even say "look how classy our team was in the face of such provocation and abuse" and then look at this Raina reacting the way he has.

IMO, pak fans should get over this little remark. really, it's not that much of a big deal - he will get more stick when he plays again behind a pak crowd. Rather, we should expect our players to show some passion against these Indians on the pitch and stop waiting for them to steamroll us and bully us.
