[PICTURES] Vaibhav Suryavanshi: The youngest cricketer ever to be chosen to play in the IPL

Definitely nowhere close to Abhishek. He is a bit of a hack and is too pudgy.

Might get better with more IPL experience but he is nowhere close to international level

Too many players vying for opener role.

Jaiswal, Gill, Abhishek, Priyansh, Sanju Samson, Suryavanshi all can open and score at a great clip.
At the moment, it is pretty much between Jaiswal, Gill and Abhishek.

He will play tests soon. Before ABhishek. Very much in sehwag mould

I was talking about Abhishek not suitable for tests like yuvi

Agree. Vaibhav seems more compact
yes Abhishek won't be in the reckoning for Tests for sure. Suryavasnhi is the closest to Sehwag. Jaiswal can be aggressive in tests. But he can also bide time when needed. But Suryavanshi mindset is exactly similar to Sehwag mindset. Aggression. Also good defense across the formats. He is not going to be your 50 average guy in tests, ODIs and 40 averages in T20s. For T20 there are so many hitters you can choose from. It is harder to find test class batsmen.

I’m glad he finally got to play against a high quality pace attack of Pakistan Only in such contests can we truly evaluate his potential. He played some crispy shots against Pakistan and maintained his dominant form.

People don’t understand how important it is even for Indian talent to be constantly put against Pakistan. It’s served as a great filter over the years. Thing is with rising salaries players are now too confident to play white nations against whom there is no inferiority complex anymore that used to exist once.

But Pakistan poses a unique mental challenge that no other team poses to Indian cricketers. They challenge the mental toughness of our cricketers. I was super glad when they made it challenging for Abhishek Sharma, Gill, Tilak recently in the Asia Cup. That was a much needed challenge for them.

He is likely to debut after World T20 2026. Maybe against Afghanistan when we play 3 T20 against them in September. :kp

VAIBHAV SURYAVANSHI SMASHED 108* FROM JUST 61 BALLS IN SMAT.

3rd T20 Hundred from just 16 matches, Madness.

:kp

Yet another 50 for this guy today in the first game of U19 asia cup against UAE u19.

Striking at above 159 atm... 4 sixes and 4 fours already

And now a 56-ball ton in a fifty-over game for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi..... Brilliant stuff.... Total domination

Should not be playing in the u19s asia cup.
Agree. He is way over quaified . IN this England U19 tour he made these runs in ODIs

48(19) 3 fours 5 sixes
45(34) 5 fours 3 sixes
86(31) 6 fours 9 sixes
143(78) 13 fours 10 sixes
33(42) 3fours 2 sixes

In the Australia tour followed by that

38(22) 7 fours 1 six
70(68) 5 fours 6 sixes
16(20) 2 sixes

Not match went by without him hitting a six

Yeah I agree him and Ali Raza are levels above and it will be interesting who comes out on top on Sunday between the two.

Bowlers always have an edge. Because he can make a mistak eand come back. But if a batsman makes a mistake no coming back. Having said that he thrashed Archer in the nets from what i heard.

The pitches that are made now are batting paradise.

Boy came, boy smashed minnow bowling and then failed when the real test came...

Pakistan is known for its bowling just like india is known for its batting.... Vaibhav is a talented player....
But you can't compare these guys with international bowlers like ARcher, Prasidh, Siraj etc. I remember tendulkar getting out to chawla when he was 16 years old . These things happen.

unfortunately every one will watch and scrutinise his every move but no player scores in every match, i
His failure in u19 means nothing anymore. He already did well in A game and also in IPL. SO people won't judge him based on this. But these toxic fanbase of Gill might do that so that Gill gets protected from Vaibhav. Otherwise people won't take his failures here seriously.

You guys just change your narrative as soon as something happens against your boys.... Stop crying bro
This forum will be quite boring though without them. When the time comes to eat humble pies, their annoyance full of summersaults are a treasure 🤑

This making big proclamations based on one single matches is getting incredibly boring and stupid.

It's also equally stupid to claim the player who smashed international bowlers is somehow weak against some random U19 bolwers and those U19 bowlers are the real tests

The absolute irony of this comment is hilarious. It's YOU GUYS who keep making stupid claims based on single matches but when it comes to the long run its ALWAYS YOU GUYS who eat humble pie.

But of course lying and being delusional is also a trait.

What stupid claim(s) are you talking about? Let's talk about majority wise guy!

Right now his problem is slower balls. Needs to identify slower balls and adjust accordingly. Since he always plays in top gear he can get surprised by slower balls

Alot of talk going on about this adult pretending to be a kid. He has hit a few quick milestones against weaker teams, but considering that he is faking his age, its no surprise he is dominating against weaker teams.

But against Pakistan, each time this guy has failed.

Is he really that good, or just an overhyped player who has done massive age fudging?

What top gear? He is a hack and fails against proper bowlers.

Scores runs against UAE, Oman etc so more of a medium pace pinch hitter.

In short, over-rated tulla.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi is playing too much white ball cricket. At his age he should be playing only first class cricket

This is no good management from BCCI. They are getting carried away by the hype

Last month Emerging Cup. Now U-19. What next - U-17 ?

How come this kid can score runs in a competitive league like IPL but gets bullied by players who are unable to play in pensioners league like PSL.

@Devadwal any theories bro?

ipl pitches are pattas and grounds arent very big. plus there was novelty factor around him. going into his second season its likely teams will be better prepared against him. his FC record shows even indian FC cricketers have his number unless he develops his game.

He is 15. He can fail for another 4 or 5 years. No problem. This is growing phase. Many would not have even scored this much at school level.

He has about 5 or 6years to develop lol you are writing obituary at the age of 15. Indian batsmen will turn out fine unless they self-destruct like Prithvi shaw.

He had an explosive start 26 (10) and was surely in the mood but the pressure was too much in this high-stakes match so he couldnt keep up.

i didnt write his obituary, i said he needs to develop, u think he can carry this game at FC or test level without developing?

Obviously dude. There are international batsmen stiill playing with massive chinks. Ollie pope ahem. He is 15 chasing 348 . Even internaitonal team would surrender in scoreboard pressure.

sure, im just stating why he likely did really well in IPL, cos of novelty factor and flat IPL tracks, as opposition learn his game and he plays outside india he will need to develop. i dont see what ive written which is controversial or problematic?

He did very well in England, Australia both in Tests and ODIs. When he takes time and bats he is a solid batsman. Watch his youth test knocks.

After taking Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s wicket, Pakistani bowler Ali Raza showed aggression.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi responded with a gesture, implying, “You’re not even equal to the shoes on my feet.

And Vaibhav Suryavanshi might have impressed us, but in the U-19 Asia Cup, he mostly performed against weaker teams- failed to deliver against Pakistan twice. Again! scored runs, but mostly outside pressure situations. Once again, he couldn’t step up in a big game like the final...

english and australian youth cricketers are generally weak, they develop later than their asian counterparts skills wise, and more often in the leagues and grade cricket structure rather than at international under 19 level. his real test will be FC cricket in india. jaiswal and gill were bossing FC pretty much straight out of under 19, so id expect him to be at a similar level if he has that level game within two or three years.
