Cricket Australia Statement
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket Australia (CA) were today alerted to a video post on social media that purported to show Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Prithvi Shaw and Navdeep Saini eating at an indoor venue in Melbourne on New Year’s Day.
The BCCI and CA are investigating the matter and seeking to determine whether the outing constitutes a breach of biosecurity protocols.
In the interim, on the advice of the Australian and Indian medical teams, the aforementioned players have been placed in isolation as a precaution. This will include separating the group of players from the broader Indian and Australian squads when traveling and at the training venue.
Players will be permitted to train in accordance with the strict protocols that have been put in place to ensure the ongoing safety of all members of the Indian and Australian squads.
Similar measures were taken during the BBL this season after it was determined two Brisbane Heat players failed to comply with tournament biosecurity protocols.

Waiting for CA to release a statement about how it 'is a privilege to tour Australia'
Lol. Stir fried beef ain't too bad though. Home made is healthy. I don't know about the thai food they ate though.
Dumpling sounds oily. So...no
Sausage lol. Wow unbelievable. Professional players.
Desi players are real good if they can still perform so well on this terrible diet.
Good point.
The problem is this isn't Pakistani players and the PCB. If it was, I'm sure the famished five would have been told by CA to get on the first flight to Pakistan.
Yes and no.Plus the biobubble is a cricket board policy and not the Victoria state goverment or Aus government policy so even they can't intervene to send Indian cricketers back.
The only board which can take a decision against these players in this case is BCCI.
Absolutely.300 Million $$ tour wont be in jeopardy, both test matches will likely will happen in Sydney.. Its pure madness to play in Sydney when they could have played in Melbourne due to the current Covid situation. A source of mine who is close to Cricket Australia told me, this is a pure political decision to play in Sydney... Ahh well, who cares, just play the damn game wherever...
The sad irony is that it was his earlier pressure for this which led to the disastrous opening of the domestic borders, which has given Victoria a totally avoidable Third Wave.
But the bigger issue is that people who have been in Sydney in the last 14 days are not eligible to enter Queensland. And these five players have all but destroyed any chance they had of getting an exemption.
I agree with her. India agreed to a set of rules pre-tour and they have to honor their word.

Did India agree to hard quarantine beyond the 1st 14 days?
The question of hard quarantine wouldn't arise if Sydney didn't have its latest covid outbreak and closing of borders. Now CA insists on going to Sydney and then again to Brisbane. The Indian team is put into trouble because of this.
Indian team will simply pack bags and return home.
If new demands have been made on BCCI additional to the pre-agreed rules, then you might have a case. There isn't much clarification on the issue yet.

I can't stand Ros Bates - she's the local MP in the constituency next to mine - but I think the BCCI need to understand that this isn't a situation in which they can buy off opposition.
The people of Queensland could not care less what economic power India has over cricket. If the Indians want to be exempt from the rules that we have to live by, they will simply be told not to bother coming.
There is a pandemic going on, and the Indians want to be exempted from the border closure here. Either they adhere to the special arrangements to which they agreed - the Biosecure Bubble in Melbourne and Sydney - or they will be refused entry to Queensland. It really is that simple.
The lynching problem is not of religion but of cattle thieves...who 99% of the time happen to be Muslims...else any thief gets lynched in the subcontinent when caught red handed.
People need to understand...majority are poor farmers..cattle costs inr 50k is approx 100k pkr...and that's their only source of income for 6 months...the avg income is 5k...
So if the cattle is stolen...they won't survive..
HENCE ITS MOSTLY THE THIEVES WHO GET LYNCHED...NOT MUSLIMS
Well Bcci doesn't speak to media till its negotiation are over. But media reports suggest that indian players have refused to do a hard quarantine in Brisbane.
People speak up in my part of India. In fact, there is no beef ban in my state at all because everyone including the RSS folks eat that. And in BIMARU states, they might be scared about the organized right-wing nutjobs who can physically hurt them. Then why don't they speak up when people from other religions are lynched to death because of carrying or eating beef ?
You must be talking about Hindus in North India. Hindus in South India eat beef openly and in my state Kerala, even BJP and RSS members eat them.Eating beef isn't forbidden by law, but slaughtering of cows is forbidden by law in most Indian states.
Many Muslims eat pork or drink alcohol, but most Muslim countries dont allow its sale.
As cow slaughtering is banned in most states, what happens is that cows are illegally smuggled and slaughtered. Many of them stolen from their owners.Cow smuggling is a big racket in India.
Hindus even who eat beef wont do it openly, it would probably invite social boycott.

Indian board can't investigate anything, they are a corrupt board.
They will do everything in their capacity to put all this under the carpet. Loosers with no respect.
Oh the irony !
BCCI promotes Age fudgers...
BCCI allows convicted fixers to come back into the team.
BCCI "loosers" file MOU cases against "respected" boards like PCB and then go on to get humiliated by having to pay millions return.
And BCCI loosers also get deportation threats from other countries.

I get that these things are way more prevalent in Pakistan but pretty much all of your above statements are propositionally true. BCCI does promote age fudgers like Yuvi, Azharruddin currently holds a position with the Hyderabad Cricket Association, Dhoni’s involvement in the Mudgal report has been buried beyond the reach of daylight, and Indians are indeed being way more lax about coronavirus compared to the Pakistanis who were mingling with each other after already being on the same plane together for 12 hours not hugging random strangers in busy restaurants.
Uhh, your main strike bowler Shami is an age fudger?
Your coach was allegedly a match fixer, and another one Azhar holds a position in a cricket association?
BCCI did get told to go back if you cant abide by our rules, what are you on about?
Those with glass houses and all. Tujhay mirchi lagi tou mein keya karun?![]()
Lol. Son, I lived in Karnataka and Tamilnadu and had plenty of beef. You can get pretty good steaks in many Bangalore pubs and many Hindus love having them in open.Kerala isnt only south India.
Tamilnadu has prevention of cow slaughter since 1976. Karnataka since 1964. AP since 1977.
Just because commies in Kerala allow something, dont extrapolate it on rest of the south India.

And even your chaddi boys eat beef in Kerala and even offer best beef to win in elections.

Much ado about nothing. .case closed and no further investigation
The players are being tested regularly. Why quarantine then?
If Sydney is a hotspot why are spectators allowed?
This looks like players being told to compromise because of political reasons.
People should understand that mental health is equally important for players well-being. India is well within its rights to ask for a relaxation of quarantine in Brisbane. They have been in Australia for over a month now and tested regularly.
Australia has a very fractious relationship between states, especially nsw and other states, and it’s showing up now
Spectators are reduced to 25% of capacity now. All tickets issued earlier are refunded and will be sold again after arrangements
