Thing is except Lankans no one is needing the masks.Neither Indians nor the Umpires.
The Lankans have been so throughly owned that they now just want to leave the ground.

And they are asking an Indian doctor whether play should carry on under Smog and his answer is obvious I guess as he is also a cricket fanatic and his team is doing well.![]()
May be but why make the touring team uneasy by playing under smog which is not good for health and its a known fact. They could have gone for another venue, no excuse here.
Lol i think lanka will never tour again in india...the painty they got from kohli and co
Just mind games, they've lost any respect one might've had after the UAE series win, losers of the worst quality! No one else is having a issue.
They wanted to play few mind games.
yesNeither they will invite India again.![]()

Yes.They are one of the most whining teams.
No one else is having a issue.

Please get a clue. The pollution levels in North India are at catastrophic levels. I'm here in Lucknow where the pollution is just as bad if not worse than Delhi and I can't move out for even half an hour without a mask otherwise I'd get a choked throat and chest pain in a hour or two.
The PM 2.5 level is hovering around 200 for the past month when the safe limit for general population is 50. Sometimes it goes above 250 as well. Please don't trivialize the situation that your own countrymen are facing by your petty agenda and sheer cluelessness on the issue.

pathetic post.
Smog does have an affect on your health, to this underwise is just being ignorant.
Indians should be happy that these players are wearing mask, because of this the issue is broadcasted to everyone and people are aware of how bad smog actually is.
I do not need to know about my country from you.You can keep running your agenda.
The Smog seems to effect only the Lankans. Not Indian players. Not the umpires. Not the 15k plus spectators.
As I said, get a clue about stuff you're posting. Take a Rajdhani from Kolkata to Delhi, and tell me how you feel after spending a day out in the open without a mask. If not, don't bother speaking for people who are actually living there and facing the pollution on a daily basis.
Match should be abandoned IMO. At least it would wake up some high level people to take some drastic measures.
Lanka should forfeit.
Delhi is a gas chamber. Anyone who says otherwise is either lying or ignorant.
( I stay near Delhi )
Lanka should forfeit.
but cricektjoshilla claims to have more knowledge then anyone else.
his argument is, just because x is not taking precautions, it means the problem doesn't exist. Screw the articles and arguments that have been presented in the past by other people.
Would like to see armchair critics like you running around on a cricket field in that air. Easy to act all macho behind your screen.

Are you on the field? What you see on the T.V. isn't the same.I see Indians running around.

The air is not as bad as SL players are pretending it to be. Just "masking" their cricket failures here
The air is not very bad? How bad it should be then to allow them to use masks? Lets just put a blindfold on our eyes and pretend that the air is perfectly fine.
He is gonna declare!!!
India just declared and will field now.Go cry.
He just called the lankan bluff.

Yes they will field after sitting down in the room for a day and a half.India just declared and will field now.Go cry.

So Lankans wearing masks is the measure of air quality?
Yes they will field after sitting down in the room for a day and a half.

The standard of air quality might be perfect for Indians but it might not be so for Srilankans. Whats the big deal?

Should India refuse to play on humid lankan conditions or cold english ones?

The question though is, why wasn't this raised yesterday. The pollution levels are bad, no doubt. But creating this issue now, seems like whining.
To Delhites, has the pollution worsened since yesterday?
Wow, *claps*
Comparing natural conditions to pollution which can poison your lungs. Amazing.
This is a new high for you.
Will they wear masks while batting as well?
Maybe it worsened, or maybe Srilankans tried to play through it yesterday but couldnt take it any more. It is also possible that they didnt know about how bad it could be for them.

Let's be honest there - the umpires didn't seem to much of a problem, including the Brit Nigel Llong who has never been exposed to such pollution, and should have a low level of tolerance.
The Sri Lankans are undoubtedly struggling because they have been battered in the field for a long time, but they have done a good job of selling it to the umpires.
Can't blame them though, most teams would have done the same in this situation.

There is a reason it is called Test cricket, as you are supposed to play in foreign conditions. If Sri Lanka want the weather of Galle in New Delhi, then why even tour. They should stay in their own country.

Earlier this month, i was in Delhi. Pollution levels were beyond pathetic
Considering the fact that it's winter, pollution levels may have abated, but will still be 4-5 times above WHO levels
