149 kph.

Has bowled only 2 overs atm.

First impressions: Mohammad Hasnain

I must say, I have been very vocal in the past about Pakistan's lack of producing genuine pace bowlers who can bowl real heat. I am finally satisfied to say that we have a mouth watering prospect on our hands with the emergence of Muhammad Hasnain!

Tall, very good run up and action. Most importantly, he is a Genuine Quick! So refreshing to see an 18 year old bowl this kind of pace. Reminds me of when Adam Milne burst on to the scene. Hopefully this is the start of a new era in Pakistan cricket where we see the return of young, true fast bowlers.

This kid MUST be considered for AUS series - if not in playing XI, they should carry him in squad. It's PAK's home series, so they can pick even 20 players and that extra cost will be more worthy than spending of PCB officials' family and Jurnos tour packages.

I think, kid is tall as well and this is the right age. He is speeding it in 4 overs game, which tells about his peak speed and if he can add consistency, this is more than enough speed, probably 10K more than required. Now, what he needs is to build body and stamina for 18-23 overs/day in 5, may be even in 5 different spells - this won't happen from mickey mouse cricket.
Abdullah719 - can you please post the bowling clips of today's game - I watched couple of balls via mobile, therefore apart from speed gun reading hardly anything could notice.

1. A fast bowler who has potential to become an express pacer.

2. Highly efficient bowling action.

3. Good seam release conducive for swing.

Just Hope and pray that He stays injury free from now on.

Quality prospect. He tends to bowl quite legsidish to right handed players

Bit slingy. Good pace. Hopefully his body will hold up playing the longer formats.

They showed a side-on view of his follow through it his left leg is bent when he delivers the ball, which would doesn't help his pace, bounce and action.

Rauf, Musa and Hasnan are good finds. But they need a lot of work.

An action that looks robust and not one that will cause his body stress.

Frightening thing is that he can probably get quicker.

of rauf hasnain and musa this guy has the most potential.

first time ive seen him and he was getting swing, was touching low 90s, is tall, and mixed up some nice slower balls in there.

his action reminds me a bit of sami.

Watching him today warmed my heart.

Lovely smooth action and so much potential.

All the fuss has been about Rauf, but this guy looks seriously rapid. Definitely one to keep an eye on, he was hitting high 140s without breaking sweat. He's 18 so I assume he is still very raw, but he seemed to bowl fairly straight.

Just saw the match replay, looks really good! Really raw but a very good prospect. His front leg collapses a little and he was still hitting 145+. Really hope that he gets proper attention and is send around thte world to improve his game.

I hope he has one magical performance, like Shaheens in last year's PSL, that would put him in the limelight.

They should develop him like they did with Shaheen, allowing him to travel with the squad, and giving him a game here and there.

Musa, Rauf and Hasnain, all 3 very exciting prospects. PSL delivering the goods yet again.

His spell yesterday,

Don't get the fuss about his bowling action, seems disjointed, wayward and someone who will struggle to control his line and length. Nevertheless, his pace is impressive and if his action can be improved with his pace compromised, he could be an exciting prospect.

Impressive, better than Musa & much better than Rauf. Was he unfit or something when PAK toured SA, could have been a surprise package there. To me he is the find for test matches. Probably the best of three as among all others he is the only horse of long race.

Without his pace compromised*

I agree, it had a tiny hint of Shaun Tait about it- doesn't look like he's in a repeatable groove. He's a bit clunky but when it all comes together he bowls quick, other times it looks a bit laboured.

Nice prospect but he looks a couple of years away from being much.

Again pace is there but with exposure in the PSL/Domestic and help from coaches - hopefully he can find that balance in his action. A long way to go for the youngster but has the potential.

The most important thing about him is that he is tall; Short bowlers rarely succeed in the long term. Liked what I saw, and may be we will have a bowler that the opposition may lose sleep over( if he develops)

Definitely not need to tinker much with his action. He is just 18 so control can come with more bowling and exposure to better coaching

Good prospect. Slinger. Needs to get the arm a lil higher and run in smoother. I’ll say again..these young kids need a month long camp with Waqar. He’s the only one that can teach them the right things.

Forget Musa ( too short ) or Rauf ( not a good action and run up ), this young man is real deal. Not a finished product yet but has the ingredient to become a genuine express bowler. Height, action, age and built, he is blessed with everything. Imran Khan used to pick this kind of raw talent and would take him directly to national team.

Play him straight in the world cup. With Pakistan players, novelty factor is a huge thing these days. So he could surprise batsmen in the world cup who aren't used to his pace and action.

151 kph 93 mph

Pretty quick for an 18 yr old and he can get quicker.

Hopefully, he can develop his skill set and can learn to move the ball both ways.

He just need to remain fit, wont mind seeing him against Aus.

The most important part about him is his efficient action apart from Slight collapse he is got a ready made action for international cricket

Husnain and Harris should play against Australia.

If you had to choose one, who would it?

Seems like Haris has had more exposure during his academy loan spell in Australia. Has the variety to bowl yorkers whereas Hasnain is yet to bowl slower balls/yorkers and lacks experience.

Tricky.

The funny thing is that there was no hype around this guy at all. That helps big time

Hasnain is definitely an year away from international cricket, needs to have more control and perhaps add couple of Ks to his pace. Pretty sure right now in Aus with Aus speed guns he can crank it up to 155k

Potential wise, better than Rauf and Musa for sure. Very very exciting prospect!

I going to go as far as saying Hassnain may be the best find of any of the PSL seasons so far

Would really be great to see him and Rauf in the Oz series, maybe rest Hassan and Amir

I will choose Harris considering the upcoming world cup. Harris has played lot of tape ball cricket and one benefit of that is the improved defensive skills specially yorkers which with his pace can be lethal. He also has more control as compared to Hasnain.

But Hasnain is certainly a better long term prospect and can be lethal in test cricket. He should make his test debut in Aus later this year if all goes well.

He is 18, more likely to be 22, but 93mph is very quick for any age.

Why you have to come out something negative, have a heart and praise the gift he is blessed with , pace . You are not selector of an age related team .

He was hyped up last year but got injured. Rumour is that Steve Waugh saw Hasnain and Shaheen playing for U16s in Australia and he was more impressed by Hasnain.

Pace is excellent.

Action not smooth and control is like a spray gun aka Wahab.

Needs some work on that but a good prospect!

its high time to experiment
my 5 pacers against australia
1. Mohammad Hasnain
2. Haris Rauf
3. Mohammad Musa
4. Mohammad Ilyas
5. Sadaf hussain

whichever of the 2 perform take them to WC

Who is guy you listed at 5 , why his name is here ? What team in PSL he is playing for or was he not good enough for any team ?

A bit of Adam Milne about him too, who by the way is one of Hasnain's heroes.

His run up is great, proper strides into the crease, not the smoothest release but not ugly by any means, just a slight kink. But excellent pace and seam positioning to go with it.

Looks like a super prospect. Both Musa and Hasnain look proper good. Shame Naseem Shah couldn’t make it.

Shaheen, Hasnain, Musa and Naseem Shah is as good a pace battery as can get. Let’s hope inshallah they can all stay fit and have long careers.

Is it just me or there is a slight kink in his action??
I too thought that first but upon seeing it again he is just locking his wrist and then releasing it at the time of delivery, same like Bumrah, good thing is unlike Rauf he is using his back shoulders and wrist altogether to generate this kind of pace, it's just a Matter of time until he gets strong and make some minor adjustment than he definitely has the potential to break shoaib bhai record.

He aint breaking Shoaib's record. So lets not kid ourselves. I hope he does but doesnt look like he can ever be that fast.

Great prospect but still a lot of things to work on.

Run-up is not consistently smooth, looks heavy footed at times.. could be fitness related. Tends to collapse at release leading to lower pace and also needs to gets more consistent with his line, can get spray-gunny hence not much swing.

He is only 18 and bowling at 145+ so he has a lot of time to work on these issues which could potentially make him a lethal bowler. For now he should be treated as a project and not rushed in to international cricket.

Haris Rauf on the other hand doesn't have the most eye pleasing run up but he is damn accurate especially with his yorkers, has excellent pace and most importantly seems like a very smart bowler. He should be tried in the Australia series.

Do you have their original birth certificates or were you there when they were born....?

I know people that people that played with them and went to school with them. About Shadab," he was 18, I was 16, and know I am 20 and Shadab is 18", and with Amir, I know loads of people that went to school with him.

Young pace bowlers biggest battle Is staying free from injuries. IA they stay free from injuries and have the desperate desire to improve

Why is it negative? If he is 18, then he is 18 but from experience that's not always the case but it doesn't matter what I think. It's a game of stats and that's all that matters, and I am just as desperate for these guys to succeed as everyone else.

for a fact?!
that implies you have unquestionable proof. Care to share?

I explained in one of the other posts. But it doesn't matter when you play at the international level, but it definitely makes some players look much better than they are, and that's the reason for the failure of some to kick on.
