[PICTURES/VIDEOS] First impressions: Mohammad Hasnain

Hes very very raw but potentially has the best ingredients to be a success - hes tall and a has a good action that doesnt look like will cause too much stress on his body

Obviously needs plenty of overs under his belt to become more accurate and to groove consistentcy in that action The potential tho is immense

"I would like to confirm that the ball that hit me, was that his quickest as it seemed pretty quick?" : Shoaib Malik about Hasnain

"He's a very good bowler but if he gets the right guidance then he has the ability to become Pakistan's best hope" : Malik

Dwayne Bravo on Mohammad Hasnain:

"Its good to see a young fast-bowler clocking those kind of numbers" : DJ Bravo

"Pakistan always produce some of the best fast bowlers in the world and its good to see another young talented player coming and bowling around the 150KpH+ mark"

"He is young and fresh and I enjoyed standing at mid-on and mid-off while he is bowling"

"I have a few weeks in the PSL and I will definitely spend some time with him along with other bowlers as well"

"This tournament will breed a new generation of cricketers for Pakistan and when you have such domestic tournaments, you see such talented players ; Quetta have given him this opportunity and its good that he is grabbing them with both hands"

Looks like one for the future, I would take one of Rauf and Hasnain to the world cup as our back up bowler.

Damn .this is getting exciting we have some very good young fast bowler coming up.hopefully this will revive our forgotten extreme pace bowling

Former Pak U19 Captain Azeem Ghumman was also from Hyderabad.

Surely good talent is there in that region.

no harm if he plays a few games after the wc, good to get them used to it early so they know what to expect.

So delightful to see the 151kmh mark being broken by him. Pakistan needs to take one of the two Rauf or Hasnain to the world cup instead of a few of their average back up options

Hyderabad

I have heard there are some very good talent there..

Is he ethnically Sindhi? Would be cool if he is as we’ve not had many Sindhis play for Pak and it could lead to more interest in that region.

Big chance to impress with selection for Australia series.

Don't think he will make it to the WC even if he does well reasonably.

He is purely selected so that he doesn't get rotten in domestic cricket and Mickey, Azhar can work with him like they did with Shaheen.

He is a long term investment. Pak selectors see in him a valuable asset for the serie against Aus in Aus.

Amir ,usman khan places are still not confirm for worldcup. If one of them fails against aus this is where husnain can claim the spot by performing better and get pick in worldcup.

Having said that it all depend if they do pick husnain for more than one game or not.

Did Hasnain bowled 153k in the final over? I definitely heard Danny screaming 153 when he bowled that full toss.

He needs to work on his Yorkers though.

Clearly needs to work on Yorker real hard but other signs are great, today's spell confirm that he does have it in him what it takes to be a successful international genuine quickie

Held his nerves in a pressure situation. It shows that he has the ability to do well at the highest level. He cramped Sammy and Pollard for room well by bowling at their legs.

I have a feeling that he will end up getting injured or just not as effective as people are seeing due to his action, it's too raw and will cause injuries. If he persists then he will have a career like Bond, perhaps shorter.

If he ends up being just as good or better then the management needs to be given props.

He's already got calf and back problems. I think only reason there's hype is because of his age and just ONE delivery at 151 kph. He's not even in top 4 for average speed. Mills, wahab, rauf and summers are quicker on average. After 1st few games his speed has dropped

Disappointing pace today. We need him to bowl 145-150kph

I wouldn't trust these speed guns.

There was a delivery that whistled past the nose of the batsman and the speed gun said 135kph.

Making a great impression in today's final.

3 wickets in 3 very economical overs so far - bowling accurately and ATA good pace.

The bouncer to get Pollard was epic. Good pace, crammed him for room and did a great job to get the ball up to that height

I don't know why the speed isn't recorded on many of his deliveries. Definitely feel many of the deliveries were near 150ks.

His thing is pace, bowling 140kph wont take him anywhere
On the contrary I think he is just not pace has a good bowling brain also been getting the tail on these flat tracks pace of 140 average is ok important is wether he can sustain it for 15 -20 overs a day like Bumrah or Rabada

Brilliant bowler, will make his name in coming years provided keeping his head down and hard work.

Not a mindless pacer but pace with brain.
Excited to see him in UAE.

I guess there were few deliveries in that range. However avg speed of 141 kph today is still very good. Even the likes of Cummins, Rabada etc dont touch 150 kph in every match.

Heat was there as batsmen were rushed, speed gun sometimes doesnt do justice with the pace bowl is hitting the bat.

Hasnain looks good! But if the speed guns are right, then that pace won't cut it . .

Wahab has been consistently quicker than him! Wahab clocking 148 even today . . Tymal mills also clocking 148 . .

His fastest was 145 kph today. Bowled at same pace or even lower than Hasan Ali

Precisely.

And that's why I'm not sure about the speed gun.

Speed guns only measure horizontal velocity (i.e. they don't measure vertical velocity). This is why yorkers always read quicker than bouncers on the speed gun.

It's not a new issue. The speed for bouncers has never been reliable, even in international cricket.

Speed gun measures pace from the hand dear.

It doesnt measure the pace of the ball at batsmen end. Your argument would be valid only if pace is measured at batters end

Speed wise he wasnt bowling quick even in last match. Speed gun is working fine, you cant say it gives faulty measurements only for Hussnain

He is getting slower game by game :( had enough rest since his last game, may be he is asked to concentrate on line and length.

He is right though, bouncers always measure slower than full deliveries, but obviously from a batsman's POV they appear much faster because they hit the pitch earlier.

That's my concern. Maybe speed gun was fair to him in earlier game (150). One positive is he rushes batsmen

Speed gun or no speed gun you can clearly see his pace really hurrying the batsman, what more you want

Wahab's short balls in the last over were registered at 136 and 139 kph respectively. The one Roussouw played down to fine leg looked considerably quicker than that speed.

Granted Husnain hasn't touched the 148-149 kph Wahab has managed in this match.

Wahab has been consistently quicker than Hasnain both visibly and speed gun wise, no point comparing both currently, i really hope Hasnain gets real quicker in next couple of years.

*** Hasnain is 18 provided he stays fit he will get quicker over the next 3-4 years

to be honest I am a bit disappointed in him; other than that 150k delivery he has not bowl express fast; he should be averaging at least 145k

I think today he showed us a different side to his bowling where he focussed more on hitting the right lengths instead of focusing on the 150 kmh mark. He will probably learn how to do both well if he gets more exposure and especially some Test cricket on helpful tracks
