[PICTURES/VIDEOS] Haris Rauf at Melbourne Stars - Performance Watch

Basically lost his team the game with that 3rd over of his. Not that the other bowlers were particularly great either

Was pretty good against NZ in the T20I's

But since then he hasn’t been up to mark. His performances for the Shaheen’s wasn’t too impressive and he hasn’t had the impact Melbourne would have liked from him.

Pakistani bowlers are going through an extremely mediocre phase right now. We have been hit by a wave of cr@pness and desperately need a vaccine to get out of it!

Haris Rauf today, 3 overs for 33 runs and a wicket. His 3rd over cost his team the match.

He is a bits and pieces player who is in the same category as Bhatti and Cheema. A club-level player.

Yup, he needs to grow from this now.
The honeymoon period is over.

Another failing Pakistan bowler. The cupboard is so bare it is unreal. All our current bowlers are from the Mohammed Sami academy. Brainless fast bowlers.

Some delusional cheerleaders will never learn. The same ignorant people who were hyping up Naseem are now hyping up this rock thrower.

This too will end in tears. His downfall has began and his international career will end when he gets smashed in the WT20.

Delusional now? We have identified he is heading in the wrong direction now. And no one was hyping him to the moon

I think, Haris was always a T20 bowler and he might survive there for few years - if Wahab can be escorted back and later played in Shaheen’s team, Rauf shouldn’t be disheartened.

Naseem however..... he was hyped to take 350-400 Test wickets!!!!! OMG....

You have identified it now because you lack vision. Should have listened to my warnings months ago.

That’s incorrect. Bad form and good form are part and parcel of a sportsman’s career. If you can’t identify the issue at the right time, then you are on course for a massive disappointment.

What is clear right now is that he is simply turning up to games to bowl 150, and is lacking a consistent line and length. Not bowling full enough and the two-three games were he went for 45 runs in 3-4 overs is leaving him a bit clueless.

I personally did not see any rhythm in his run up and I am not a fast bowling coach/expert. He pulled out of his run up maybe 3 times in his spell, and you could at times tell he was going to bowl a bad ball clearly because there was no rhythm when he was running in.

You wouldn’t care or try to care to understand these issues of course because he is a Pakistani.

The only issue with him is that this guy is in his 30s already and he has barely spent enough time in a professional cricket setup. He will never be successful in international cricket.

You can live in denial if you wish and keep making pseudo technical analysis about lacking rhythm in run up etc., but the reality is that he will never make it.

Should be in the playing XI in today's game vs Adelaide Strikers

Something isnt right @pacy_with_wisdom

Hes not bowling well at all! too short, too wayward. No passion and aggression that is usually associated with him either.

His line is off but he is bowling quicker than ever 154 kph. Needs to get his radar working and hope tje edges stop flying away with that pace.

It’s not just the line. The confidence is down as well. You can see it from his face. He’s been horrendous for overseas professional standards in a T20 league

I have highlighted his isues way before when he was even doing well.
The strides leading up to delivery are too short to give him any rhythm.

Even though he has a ridiculously fast arm, he doesn't get the rhythm and feel of delivering it properly because of that.

Why is this guy hitting 150-154 in Australia but is around the 145-147 mark when playing for Pakistan or PSL?

Has to be variations in speed guns. He only seems to hit that sort of pace during the big bash

Pakistan have basically selected two out of form, short of confidence guys in their Test Squad in Harris Rauf and Abdullah Shafique

Both have no FC experience, Abdullah has one game.

Took no wickets today - 0/10 in in 1 over

The Melbourne Stars are thrilled to announce that Haris Rauf will be returning to Team Green for BBL|11.

Rauf has quickly become a fan favourite at the Stars since he made his debut in BBL|09.

Rauf burst onto the scene to become one of the elite performers of BBL|09, taking 20 wickets from 10 matches, including a famous hat-trick at the MCG.

The 28-year-old has played 8 ODIs and 32 T20 internationals for Pakistan, after making his international debut in 2020 in both formats.

Rauf has blazed the way for recent Stars' debutante Syed Faridoun, who also came from the Lahore Qalanders.

Melbourne Stars Coach David Hussey said:
“We can’t wait to see Haris Rauf back at the Stars. His addition brings experience, energy and quality to our fast-bowling stocks. I’m sure the Stars fans will enjoy seeing him represent Team Green again in BBL|11.”

Melbourne Stars General Manager Blair Crouch said:

“I’m really proud to welcome Haris back to the Melbourne Stars. We’re delighted that he enjoyed his previous two stints at the club and has decided to return for another season, which is a credit to the culture that David Hussey and his team have built over a number of years. He's an elite fast bowler who our members and fans adore and I can't wait to see him back at the MCG.”

Rauf will play his first game on 27th December against the Brisbane Heat, subject to Covid protocols and will remain with the team until the end of the season.

Upcoming fixtures:

Friday 10th December
Melbourne Stars vs Sydney Thunder
MCG, 7.15pm AEDT

I am expecting big things from the street cricketer this season. He has a lot of experience & confidence behind him.

Is he still a street cricketer? Considering he plays regularly for national team now.

Not in my eyes. But there are a few smarty pants on this forum who still think he is.

I was throwing sarcasm towards them.

Rauf needs to be more economical.I know he is a wicket taking bowler but he should not give more than 8 runs an over.He will get hit on occasions but on average he should not give more than 35 runs in 4 overs.

He is getting too many soft wickets i.e. wickets at the death, wickets after the other bowlers have done damage or inconsequential wickets. He needs to actually run through a side and win his side a few games to get proper adulation

What? He bowls in the death as a death overs specialist. Unless the side has 10 complete wickets in hand, how do you expect him to run through sides?

How are 2 wickets in the last over inconsequential? Are you forgetting how many times 15+ run final overs have completely changed the game for teams?

he came back strong - first over went to for 13 runs

He's been a wonderful signing for Melbourne Stars. I doubt many will have predicted he would do so well in the BBL.

Quite often the go-to man when they need a wicket.

Haris takes wickets but is still a bit expensive. If he can stop leaking runs then he will be a very good t20 bowler.

Melbourne Stars are all set for the Haris's return but the problem is still there. Haris might not be getting the NOC for the opening match of Melbourne Stars. National T20 is still going on and OCB wants him to play the whole domestic cup instead of just leaving it for BBL. We have to wait till December 10 I guess. Till now, his return for the first match is still in doubt.

This tweet is of 9 November. Haris is playing Domestic T20. Don't think he'll be traveling there

Haris Rauf granted NOC for Big Bash League 2023-24

The board has issued the NOCs considering the workload of players and the future tours programme of the national men's team.

The PCB understands that this decision is in the best interests of all the stakeholders involved while balancing the importance of game time with workload management.

Haris has been granted NOC for four matches.

During a chat with local media, PCB Chief Selector Wahab Riaz said about giving NOC to Haris Rauf:

"The NOC given to Haris Rauf, who captained Islamabad in the T20 competition (National T20 Cup 2023), unfortunately, his team didn't qualify for the Super 8. Due to this, from now until the New Zealand tour, which is about a 1.5-month gap, Haris Rauf won't be playing any cricket. His contract with Cricket Australia for the Big Bash covers only 5 games, and keeping this in mind, because during the 1.5-month period of no competitive cricket, we want our players to stay active and in form, especially fast bowlers who need to maintain their rhythm. So, we have scheduled him from the 7th to the 28th, covering 5 matches, and then he will likely join the Pakistan team directly for the New Zealand tour."

Haris playing his first BBL game for season 13 at the moment.

2 overs till now for Haris and gave away just 10 runs. Good stuff form him. Getting back to some kind of form before the NZ series and T20 world cup.
