Imran rules out deal, open to talks in 'Pakistan’s interest'

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former prime minister Imran Khan has ruled out “give-and-take” deal, stating that talks will only be held in the interest of Pakistan.

This was conveyed by Senator Ali Zafar following a recent meeting with the jailed former prime minister at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, where Imran Khan has been held since August 2023 on a range of charges, including corruption and terrorism.

“Imran said he is ready to negotiate for the sake of unity in the country,” Ali Zafar told reporters outside the prison, adding that the talks must be transparent, honest, and strictly in the national interest—not for any personal gain.”

“If I wanted relief, I would have asked for it long ago,” Ali Zafar quoted Imran Khan as saying.

Imran's statement came after his sister, Aleema Khan, urged for dialogue through a "give-and-take" approach.

Ali Zafar, speaking to reporters, said that Imran also renewed his demand for swift justice in all legal cases against him and other PTI members, accusing the authorities of deliberately delaying court proceedings. “I only want justice,” he said quoting former prime minister.

A few days earlier, Imran Khan had instructed the party to begin preparations for a major nationwide movement against the current government.

Through his sister, Aleema Khan, the former prime minister conveyed that while he would not summon supporters to Islamabad, the campaign would be launched across Pakistan.

“Start preparing for a mass movement,” Aleema quoted her brother as saying. “I will not call people to Islamabad, but we will launch the movement across Pakistan.”

She said Imran remained defiant in the face of what he called state oppression, vowing to resist all forms of torture and pressure. “Imran Khan has made it clear that even if he spends his entire life behind bars, he will not surrender to subjugation,” she added.

Meanwhile, PTI central information secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram on Wednesday dismissed reports of ongoing negotiations with the government, saying dialogue "does not work like this".

Addressing a news conference, the party's central information secretary clarified that PTI founding chairman Imran Khan has denied initiating talks.

"You can't drive daggers of hatred into someone's chest and still expect goodwill in return," he added.

They have offered IK freedom if he stays quiet and let's the Munir and the Junta illegally hold onto power. Kaptaan has said no and that means Munir can never be at ease. He will keep Kaptaan in prison for the rest of his life, but dead or alive IK will never allow these thugs a days peace. If they kill him, his legacy will haunt them and their families and if he stays alive, the PK people will love him and that means no peace either.
Munir has put himself above PKs interest, he has no right to rule PK and nor have the form 47 mafia. History is never kind to criminals and the Junta is a criminal enterprise

Stay strong Immy Khan.

Your people became slaves to a Failed Marshal and allowed imprisonment and violation of a National Hero. I know its hard to deal with it.

Its Kaptaan and the public on the one side and the Junta led by Munir and his toadies on the other. The public have made their choice, the man with gun and tanks wants to kill them.

In a explosive tweet IK has revealed why the contemporary "God"- Munir was removed from his DGI ISI. Then the thug asked Bushra Bibi for a meeting to save his job, which she refused. No doubt he would have tried to threaten and blackmail her to keep his job. She told him to get lost. From then on he has held a grudge against both but not against Bajwa, on whose recommendation he was removed from his job. The tout journalist have told us for years that Munir had a file on Bushra Bibis corruption- so Munir sahib where is this explosive file? Munir is renowned liar and this lays bare his criminality

How i would like to be a fly on the wall in the next core Commanders conference when Munir talks about Islam. Each and every soldier will know this guy is liar, no matter how many ayats he reads. A guy that tried to use Sifarish to keep his job, and when rejected he locked up the people that refused his illegal request. Most of those guys are just as bad as him and would do the same, but there will be one or 2 with a conscience and this may ***** some morality in their bone. Each and every member of the core commanders is responsible for this evil against IK and his wife.

Total humiliation for the contemporary "god" and his party. The PTI smashed them and they had to resort to form 47s to rig the elections. So bad was the rigging that even my MNA and PPP ex PM Raja Rental (who also got smashed on Feb 8th) is asking why so much criminal capital has been wasted rigging a bye election. Supposedly Field Martial is very popular- where we have no idea 🤣🤣

This has destroyed the crooked Haifz and his fake popularity. PK stands with IK and he absolutely smashed them. Whees did the gongi go in this election?
Sure brother. But what now. Chahcha jee is entrenched. The PTI is riddled with indecision and traitors. Khan is still locked up. Don't you think it would be better for him if he can get out?? His people are too scared to get him out..

The sad reality is that as long as the crooked and thuggish chief is in power, there isn't much that can be done because there isnt a constitution or courts . Kaptaan has made his mission to destroy this mafia and wont back down. The thug can't back down because of his original promise to the Sharifs in the London plan( the irony here is that Bajwa told people that if you think i am bad, wait until you see the next guy) and his massacre in Islamabad and theft of the election. We pray and hope that Kaptaan comes back healthy but I am not hopeful. The problem for Munir and Junta is that if Kaptaan is in prison, he lives in 90% of PK hearts and if they kill him, they too will die with him. So we have an impass which has no solution unless the Generals take action but they are greedy and they vote with their wallets

PTI founder Imran Khan refuses lie detector test for 4th time

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s incarcerated founder Imran Khan has refused a polygraph test (lie detector test) requested by the Lahore police investigation for the fourth time, delaying progress in the probe into the May 9 riots case.

A police investigation team, headed by DSP Asif Javed from Lahore, arrived at Adiala Jail on Monday to conduct a polygraph test, photogrammetric test, and voice matching test in connection with 11 cases registered in Lahore related to the events of May 9.

Members of the Punjab Forensic Unit were also part of the team, which included Inspectors Muhammad Aslam, Tasaduq, Saleem, and Naveed, along with technical expert Abid Ayub.

The jail administration informed the PTI founder, but he refused to participate in the investigation. Sources said Imran was informed that the investigation team had arrived with a court order. Nevertheless, he again refused to undergo the tests.

Sources added that previously, Imran had set the condition that he would only cooperate and undergo tests in the presence of his lawyers.

So they have nothing and this is there attempt to pressurise IK. Surely after 2 years of investigation they would have something, alas nothing at all. The CCTV has disappeared, the Policeman that "hid" under IKs table and heard all the "plan" made these clowns even more stupid than they already are and none of the guys they tortured and got confessions have any credibility, even in front of their own pathetic judges

Today the judge run off from the hearing. This was the case that @Major said he was guilty. So my question is if he was, why the desperation not to hear the appeal. And why are the judges running off? Aren't they supposed to be neutral 🤣🤣

The Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has rejected the post-arrest bail applications of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in eight cases related to the violent events of May 9. The decision was made after hearing arguments from both the prosecution and Khan's legal team

Khan's lawyer, Barrister Salman Safdar, argued that his client was in jail when the May 9 incidents occurred and that the protests were a result of public reaction to his client's remarks.

The defence further claimed that Khan had been involved in numerous cases, some of which had already been dismissed, and that any accusations against him were politically motivated.

Barrister Safdar noted that the allegations against Khan were part of a broader narrative that had been constantly changing. He referred to the cases involving the cypher controversy, claiming that the legal team had already secured relief in those matters through the courts.

He also criticised the government's inconsistent handling of the allegations, stating that accusations of a conspiracy against the state had not been substantiated.

Furthermore, Safdar stated that he was not seeking discharge or dismissal of the cases but was requesting bail, citing that Khan had been in custody for an extended period.

He referred to past cases, such as that of former president Pervez Musharraf, to argue that medical evidence and judicial scrutiny would eventually clear Khan's name.

On the other hand, the prosecution strongly opposed the bail applications, arguing that the charges against Khan were severe, including sedition and attacks on sensitive military installations. He claimed that Khan’s statements had incited violence and led to the assault on military and police personnel.

Special Prosecutor Rao Abdul Jabbar stressed that these attacks, which included desecration of war memorials and assault on military bases, were not random but well-coordinated acts of aggression, instigated by Khan's rhetoric.

He also pointed out that the scale of the violence and the use of modern communication tools for planning made the situation even more serious.

The prosecutor added that the prosecution had substantial evidence, including the involvement of social media in promoting the violence. He criticised Khan's claim of being in jail during the attacks, stressing that he had used his influence to instigate the violence.

After hearing both sides, the court reserved its verdict. In a subsequent ruling, the ATC dismissed Khan's bail applications in all eight cases related to the May 9 violence.

Khan’s legal team had previously argued that the charges against him were politically motivated and that the cases were being used to suppress his party and political movement. However, the prosecution maintained that the severity of the charges warranted Khan’s continued detention.

Another pathetic case. Remember this was the case where a Policeman supposedly hid under a table and heard IKs confession.🤣🤣🤣🤣

The only card up IK's sleeve is to abolish the PTI, to disown all the sell outs and tell the Awaam he is all alone. Atleast this way the existing PTI leadership will no longer be able to encash living of IK's name.

Its on the cards. Just like the Nooras and the PPP, the PTI leadership has been nationalised. It makes no difference, we had Fwd Ch and the blackmailed group leave, and the PTI won a 2/3rd majority, this present lot will get kicked out and we will win again. Gandapur has betrayed PK and IK and so have the others.

Vawda says PTI 'wants to keep Imran behind bars'

Senator Faisal Vawda has claimed that the PTI leadership wanted to lose the reserved seats case as it had presented a very weak case.

In an interview, he stated that he had predicted one and a half to two years ago that the PTI would be disappointed.

"The way the PTI pursued the case, it was bound to lose. Legally, there was nothing substantial in it. The decision announced on Friday is based on merit because the legal requirements were fulfilled," the politician, who served as a federal minister in Imran Khan's cabinet, said.

He said PTI leaders "want to keep Imran Khan behind bars" and that "they are succeeding".

"The PTI members are fully enjoying the situation. They get perks, salaries, and official vehicles.

"They go about it in an organized manner and with mutual understanding and want to keep the former prime minister behind bars," he alleged.

The life story of Imran Khan proves Pakistanis are the biggest cowards in the world.

This man gave his everything for Pakistan. Won them their only real World Cup. Built their cricket team. Fought all odds to lead the nation politically and then when he could not sell his soul to the military because of his love for the nation he got pulled down and got illegally jailed and now he might die there and there’s nothing Pakistani people did to undo that. Shame on them.

Forget being jailed or tortured, if ever a day come there is the slightest inconvenience to Modi ji, we Sanatanis will be uncontrollable. There is no power on earth which can contain the wrath of Sanatanis.

This establishment is not gonna let Imran go free... They just want him to die in Jail so they can continue their loot and the two-party system can go on and on.

Sadly you are right. The interests of a predatory elite and the predatory international establishment controlled by Zionists means we will probably never see IK again. IA I am wrong but As Hazrat Ali said once( I hope i haven't quoted him wrongly) death is a my protector. Countries are built around leaders like IK but in PK we have the pound shop Generals that boot Polish America to stay in power. Munir may torture and murder IK, but he too will have to pay the price. He may get his billions in Swiss bank accounts but ultimately he will have his name on a crate of Mangoes. They never learn

And yep establishment was innocent.... 🤡

Imran involved in May 9 conspiracy, rules LHC

The Lahore High Court (LHC) ruled on Thursday that former prime minister Imran Khan was involved in a conspiracy behind the violent events of May 9, 2023, citing testimonies from two police officials.

The court dismissed Imran’s post-arrest bail petition, noting sufficient grounds for criminal conspiracy and abetment.

According to the written order, statements by Inspector Ismat Kamal and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Hassan Afzal place Imran as the one who perpetrated meetings held on May 4 at Chakri Rest Area, Rawalpindi, and on May 7 and 9 in Lahore. The court said this undermines the argument that Imran was in jail during the violence on May 9.

“These statements attract the provisions of Section 120-B and Section 121-A of the Pakistan Penal Code,” reads the judgment. Both sections deal with criminal conspiracy and abetment of mutiny, which carry serious legal consequences.

During the hearing, the court observed that Imran's prior conviction in the Al-Qadir Trust case was uncontested. It also said that his alleged statements and actions had led to the loss of lives and damage to state property.

The prosecution submitted audio and video clips, including transcripts prepared by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), which require forensic examination. The authorities had obtained court permission to conduct photogrammetry, polygraph and voice-matching tests within jail premises. However, investigators reported that Imran repeatedly refused to cooperate, hindering progress.

The court concluded that the charges fall under the prohibitory clause of Section 497 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), which bars bail in serious offences. It found no new circumstances to justify further inquiry or release on bail.

“In collective consideration of the facts...we are not inclined to grant post-arrest bail to the petitioner,” the court stated, dismissing the petition outright.

Imran shuns dialogue, plans nationwide protest

As PTI interim chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on Tuesday met party founder Imran Khan in Adiala jail after more than a month of repeated attempts to gain access to the incarcerated former premier, who is said to be kept in solitary confinement, the party founder issued a nationwide protest call.

The meeting between the two party leaders revolved around the protest movement announced by Imran Khan, which will reach its “peak” on Aug 5 to mark the second year of his incarceration in multiple cases. According to a statement on his X account in the evening, Imran Khan ruled out any kind of dialogue, saying the time for dialogue had passed.

“For the sake of the country, I have repeatedly talked about negotiations, but now the time for negotiations has passed. After the 26th Constitutional Amendment…the hope we had for justice from the courts has completely disappeared, so now no other method can bring the Pakistani nation out of this swamp of lawlessness except a nationwide protest movement,” the PTI founder said. It is pertinent to note that he does not have access to his social media accounts and someone else posts on his behalf.

“The complete plan of action for the nationwide movement will be presented this week - on August 5, my unjust imprisonment will complete 2 years. This day will be the culmination of our nationwide protest movement,” he said. “Now there will be no negotiations of any kind with anyone! There will be protests only on the streets so that the nation can get rid of the puppet rulers imposed by force,” he added.

Speaking to reporters outside the prison, Barrister Gohar confirmed that the PTI founder asked party workers, supporters, and the general public to prepare for a peaceful but powerful protest campaign starting August 5. “This is not just about political revenge anymore—it’s about every citizen’s rights being stolen. The founder has said this movement should now take the shape of a second Pakistan Movement,” Barrister Gohar stated. He revealed that Khan, even while in solitary confinement, remained “mentally sharper and more determined than ever” and “despite being silenced, the founder has given us a message—prepare, mobilise, and raise your voice peacefully but fearlessly”.

The PTI leader also criticised the prison authorities for continued mistreatment and isolation of Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi, while also highlighting their prison conditions, disregard of court orders, and systemic efforts to break political resistance through isolation.

Mr Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, who did not meet her brother, also spoke to media persons outside the jail alongside her sisters. She also talked about the protest movement announced by her brother, claiming that the entire family will be a part of the movement. Ms Khan said that Imran’s sons, Qasim and Suleiman, will go to the US to highlight injustices meted out to their father before coming to Pakistan to become part of the movement and Imran Khan had been informed about this. However, Ms Khan did not clarify if the duo will join the movement before Aug 5 or after. She said a plan regarding their visit was being formulated.

‘Solitary confinement’

Ms Khan also painted a grim picture of her brother’s conditions in prison. “He has been kept in complete solitary confinement for months. For the past week, even his newspapers, books, and television have been taken away. What sort of justice is this?” she asked.

She revealed that despite repeated legal requests and court directives, even basic human rights were being denied. “He is not a criminal. He is the former elected prime minister of this country. Yet he is being treated worse than convicted felons,” she claimed.

Ms Khan said that the PTI founder had told her during a previous brief meeting that his books were lying in the deputy superintendent’s room, inaccessible to him. “What threat do books pose to the state?” she questioned. “His voice is being silenced, his mind is being isolated, and now they want to completely disconnect him from the outside world.” “Even his doctor has not been allowed for 10 months,” he alleged.

Both Ms Khan and Barrister Gohar emphasised that Imran Khan’s health was being deliberately ignored. “For ten months, his personal physician—who has known his medical history for decades—has been denied access. If something happens, who will be responsible?” Ms Khan asked.

She also stated that Bushra Bibi was undergoing similar conditions in her prison cell. “She has been kept in solitary confinement as well. There are no visitors, no sunlight, no communication—just absolute seclusion. Is this how women are treated in custody in Pakistan?”

She said the authorities believe that by isolating the PTI founder, they can dismantle his influence and demoralise his supporters.

“Let me tell you clearly: he cannot be broken.

His spirit is stronger than ever. He told us—whatever happens, his message will reach the people,“ Ms Khan said, referring to Imran Khan’s recent communication from prison.

Imran's sons will have to seek visa, says Talal

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry has said the children of incarcerated PTI founder Imran Khan will have to enter Pakistan after obtaining visas "if they are not Pakistani citizens". Chaudhry was talking to reporters in the Parliament House on Friday.

On July 9, Imran's sister — Aleema Kham — announced that PTI founder's family members including his sons Kasim and Sulaiman would be part of a protest movement soon.

Speaking to the media, Aleema had said that Imran would lead the protest from behind bars. "Imran Khan has said that he will lead the protest movement. He is free while in jail but we are prisoners despite being outside," she said.

She added that his sons, Suleman and Kasim, would join the movement in support of their father after visiting the United States.

Commenting on the move, PM's Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah said the former prime minister's sonswho reside in the United Kingdom with Imran's first wife Jemima Goldsmithwould be arrested if they joined the PTI protest in Pakistan.

Jemima took to X to condemn the statement. "This doesn't happen in a democracy or a functioning state. This isn't politics. It's a personal vendetta," she said on Thursday.

Responding to a question with regard to participation of Imran's family in the upcoming protest, the state minister said along with his sons, "Imran's [alleged] daughter [Tyrian White] should also come to Pakistan."

Separately, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi also stated that the children of Imran Khan are not beyond the reach of the law, and if they attempt to take the law into their own hands, they will face legal consequences like any other citizen.

According to a report, Kundi noted that holding peaceful demonstrations was everyone's right, including the children of the PTI founder but added that "if they cross the legal line, the law will take its course."

Commenting on the dual nationality status of the PTI founder's children, the governor said if they do not hold Pakistani citizenship, then the matter may fall under the purview of the British High Commission.

In all fairness, their application should be accepted if they sign an agreement that they will not participate in political protests.

If they do, they should be booted out immediately.

True. These dumb boys are good for nothing though, but it’s just an excuse for PTI animals to hoard the streets again.

Anyway, as we have seen previously, PTI politicians and supporters can only talk. Half of them live overseas while the other half in Pakistan run away after a few mild threats from the government.

Even if the boys come to Pakistan and cause a ruckus, it will be short-lived and they will run away to the UK after a couple of slaps.

In Orthodox and Conservative Judaism, a person is considered Jewish only if their mother is Jewish. Therefore, someone with a Jewish father and non-Jewish mother would not be considered Jewish by these denominations. However, Reform and Reconstructionist Judaism recognise Jewish identity through either parent if the child is raised Jewish.

Jemima’s mother was Anglican, and neither she, nor her kids, were raised Jewish. So her kids are not Jews… by any definition.

You are not stupid, so know this. So back to trolling then? I see your volte-face, after becoming a father, lasted precisely a couple of months.

Imran seeks IHC order for better facilities in jail

Former prime minister Imran Khan has filed an application before the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for better facilities in Adiala Jail, where he is currently imprisoned.

The application said the Adiala Jail authorities, particularly the superintendent, have consistently violated IHC’s earlier orders to provide facilities to Mr Khan in accordance with the Pakistan Prison Rules, 1978.

Filed through counsels Chaudhry Zaheer Abbas and Muhammad Usman Riaz Gill, the petition stated despite IHC’s directives and the Punjab government’s notification, jail officials have failed to ensure better facilities based on Mr Khan’s social and political standing.

The petition detailed various grievances, including the denial of visits by family, friends and legal counsel, disconnection from electronic and print media, restriction of phone contact with his sons abroad, and hindrance in accessing personal medical care and clothing.

It also alleged deliberate electricity cuts to Mr Khan’s jail cell and instances of solitary confinement, describing them as tactics to pressure him politically.

Mr Khan, 73, claimed he served Pakistan as an international cricketer, philanthropist and as the country’s 22nd prime minister. Therefore, the denial of his lawful entitlements was not only unconstitutional but also a violation of human dignity and natural justice.

The petition requested the high court to appoint a gazetted officer to oversee the implementation of better facilities and submit weekly reports to ensure transparency and accountability.

The Islamabad High Court is expected to take up the matter in the coming days.

Adiala SP put on notice

In a related development, Special Judge Shahrukh Arjumand has issued a notice to the Adiala Jail superintendent.

The notice was issued in a contempt of court case for allegedly defying orders regarding WhatsApp call facilities and medical examinations of detainees.

During the hearing, lawyers Zaheer Abbas, Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry and others appeared before the court on behalf of Mr Khan.

They claimed the jail authorities had “blatantly violated” the court’s directives.

The petition stated the court had earlier ordered medical check-ups and permission for WhatsApp calls between Mr Khan and his sons. But the jail administration didn’t comply with the orders.

The lawyers argued the jail authorities’ refusal to conduct Mr Khan’s medical examinations amounted to “deliberate disobedience of judicial orders”.

The counsel contended the actions of the jail superintendent amounted to contempt and fell under Sections 177 and 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which deal with disobedience to lawful orders of public servants and furnishing false information, respectively.

“The jail authorities did not merely delay the implementation of the court’s order, they refused it outright, thereby challenging the authority of the judiciary,” the counsel argued.

Taking notice of the alleged violation, the court ordered the jail superintendent to submit a written response and adjourned the hearing till July 24.
