Abdul Razzaq said that he is the quickest in QEA 2020, any videos of him?

I saw he was batting at number 5 the other day also.

If this is the same guy that played in the U-19 WC earlier this year (looked about 23 then) then he’s mediocre.

Razzaq said he’s developing him as an all rounder. He did hit a couple of shots last match. Let’s see how it works out.

It is, but he also just picked up 6 wickets in the 4 day match so maybe he’s better suited to longer formats. Especially if he can bat too.

He saved the game against Northern last week, with Northern only needing 1 wicket to win (all but guaranteed). He came in at 9 and made 18*(59) and saved the day.

The lad needs to bowl closer to the perpendicular, his arm is too slingly and at around 30 degrees. If he sorts this out he will gain pace and bounce. From observation in the Sindh game he is more in the 83mph range but if Abdul Razzaq is right and obviously he sees him alot, he could become an interesting prospect.

Razzak's statements should be ignored, He is the same guy who said Shehzad is more talented then Tendulkar

Where did he say that?

Second half of the video. Remains to be seen what his actual speed is though!

The lad is decent pace and remember he watches him daily. Lets hope he is right. He can also be a decent 8 or 9.

Thanks.Quite a rap for Waseem from AR. Lets hope the lad kicks on and uses the confidence his coach has in him to become the fast bowling, number 8 bat, we need for PK .

If anyone has any video of him bowling, it will be great to see that.

Thanks

He is definitely quicker than that.

He is from last Pak U19 WC squad (Took 5-12 vs Scotland). Watched him bowl in the televised match of KPK and looked pretty quick, around 140 kph and bowled few hard balls. Needs to work on his radar but definitely looked like someone who can be worked upon. Scored a 20 ball 50 as well at U19 level.

Definitely one of the fastest in QAE, if not the fastest. I mentioned his name in PSL 6 thread as well as QAE thread amongst decent emerging pace bowling prospects.

KP Head Coach Abdul Razzaq speaking on a PCB video:

"Our idea is to make sure we have selection on merit and that no one is treated unfairly; So in case of Mohammad Wasim it is our duty to give him confidence and look after him; So ignoring someone when he is not doing well and then giving him confidence when he does well is not a good way to go about things"

"I have said that before and will say again that Mohammad Wasim should be in the first XI but I didnt know about some of the players and now that he is in my sight, I will do what I can to make him into a good bowler"

"The way Mohammad Wasim has bowled in this tournament, I would say that he is the fastest bowler on display

Some really good comments atleast hes being honest about not knowing some players good stuf

AR should just work with the lads to get them into 1st XI & let them show their worth instead of hyping them as he is really bad at that

He’s in the first XI now and Razzaq was discussing the worth that Wasim has already showed.

If Abdul Razzaq helps this lad to kick on, he has been worth the salary. As i said earlier, guys with slingly actions worry me

He might has improved since under 19 WC, but when I saw him bowling, particularly against India, it was embarrassing to see the low level of Pakistan fast bowling including this bowler.

PCB report for Day 4, Round 7 of QeA20

Pacer Mohammad Wasim Jnr was the other notable performer with the ball for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as he bagged three wickets for 37 runs.

He just smashed Hasnain for 2 sixes and a four. A six and 4 over cover and a scoop shot six. Looks a talent. Cant wait to see him in PSL. Thunderbolt24 Bullet Drive

He has good power but absolutely no sense of how to bat. He’s swinging wildly at everything.

On the other hand, he has a good scoop shot and can hit sixes on both off and leg. I’d say a good number 8 for T20 cricket.

Would like to see him learn how to build an innings. Premeditates a lot.

Yes 👍...most of domestic batsmen premeditate. He just hit a 90 metre six to Hassan Khan and reverse swept him like a switch hit...something to work with

I’m watching right now, this guy has amazing natural ability. He’s also growing more confident as the innings is building and I just heard from the commentator that it’s his first ever list A game.

I’d like to see him work on his batting with Mohammad Yousuf at the NHPC and I’m sure Razzaq, the KPK head coach, is watching closely too.

I also watched his innings and he looked good on full balls, but has no shots through the off side. In many ways it was the same as a young Abdul Razzaq but let's see how he develops.

He actually hit his first six on the off side over extra cover, I believe. Can cut as well. Doesn’t know how to drive though, he’s a proper hitter right now.

Nothing special as a bowler tbh, but he has potential as an allrounder

Needs to improve his control. We need bowlers who can contribute with the bat, especially in LOIs. Hopefully Razzler gives him some attention.

Playing today for IU in the PSL.

Bowling around 140kph.

Hitting the deck pretty hard.

Needs to come over the top, he is a little too slingy and that makes it difficult to get a consistent action.

More excited about his batting potential.

From what i have seen in the Pakistan Cup he has a fast bat speed and clears his leg ala Razzler to hit some big shots in the last overs.

First wicket in the PSL for him:

Seems like a right handed Junaid Khan at his peak pace. Very promising in my views , his batting is his main focus I think.

I really like his bowling action - very smooth, seems to generate pace out of nowhere.

Definitely one to keep an eye on.

Really frustrating to see persistent age fudging by the current young generation.

This is something that Wasim needs to stamp out.

Wasim knocks Rizwan's stumps out the ground, then gets Shahid Afridi next ball!

Not sure at this stage, good figures but might have flattered him a bit. Didn't really see him do much with the ball other than work up some decent speed without actually looking that quick. But if he can bat as well then he will certainly be a prospect as an all rounder.

At least better than Musa.

Musa not in IU team playing eleven now , good decision .

Wondering what exactly Misbah saw in Musa.

Musa will come back, he will be decent but the lack of height will always make it difficult for him.

Okay for t20 but he's nothing special
He was playing for kpk in one day tournament and was trundling at best when I watched the final.

Also he is not 19 , looks more mid twenties

Liked the way he got the older ball to tail back late with his round armish action along with bit of reverse swing. Bowled decent areas overall as well. Lets see how he does throughout the tournament.

Excited about his potential. We desperately need a potent and penetrative pace AR for t20s. I'm not convinced by faheem, Yamin or amad as starting options. Waseem Jr is quicker then all 3 and also a big hitter lower down the Order. Would be genuinely interested in throwing him in as a wildcard option for the WC. His bowling is raw but has a lot of potential and the way he bowled at the death today was extremely promising for a 19yo lad. We really should do everything to invest in him and get him ready. Mubasir, qasim and now this lad, the all rounder prospects look bright for the future.

Nowhere near international level with a very inconsistent action at this point. He will improve with hard work but that is not always a given with our players.

Pakistani fans want every new player in Pakistan team straight away. There are quite a few promising youngsters but they need time to develop. The best way to do this to play domestic cricket for a few seasons.PCB's biggest mistake is that it selects player when they are too young and not ready or it ignores them until they are past their prime and are in their thirties.

Taking the 3rd over for Islamabad here today and bowling quite decently to Babar and Sharjeel, conceding just 5 runs
