[PICTURES/VIDEOS] Mohammed Siraj - Performance Watch

unbelievable performance. this puts him amongst top 3 to 5 odi bowlers. great work. keep it up.

Also donated his winnings to the groundstaff. Generally the team shares it, but a nice gesture anyway.

Also, time people stop asking a Muslim about biryani every time they interview them. Shastri opened today's interview with this question. It's an embarrassing and cringe thing to do.
Biryani question was not because siraj is a muslim but he is from Hyderabad. City has the reputation of being famous for biryani in india. Don't think he would've asked shami the same question had he won the MOTM. Still a bit cliched but for other reason.

Another point, biryani is a hot favorites among most Indians. In 2020 swiggy shared a report, the most common item ordered on their platform by Indians, was Biryani. Now to top it all Siraj is from Hyderabad. Sastri would not get into a religious angle, he himself landed in hot soup some decades back after saying that his own favourite food is corned beef.

He bowled great today, don’t get me wrong. But the batting was some of the worst I’ve ever seen, the bowling wasn’t as good as the figures suggest IMO.

He is probably the most improved bowler in the last year or so in world cricket. Especially in ODI cricket where he averages less than 20 that is fantastic. He will be a key part of team India in the upcoming World Cup.

It's fantastic to see Siraj as the current No#1 ODI bowler! However, we indians want to emphasize that rankings are just numbers to us. What truly matters is his contribution to the team's success. Siraj has rightfully earned his spot in the World Cup squad, and we're firmly behind him. Our main focus is on him delivering stellar performances during the powerplay, taking crucial wickets, and playing a pivotal role in our journey to win the World Cup.

Personal milestones can wait, for now, let's rally behind Siraj as he collaborates with Bumrah and Pandya, working together to set up batsmen and secure those vital wickets in the powerplay. That's his role, and as long as he fulfills it effectively, he'll always be a top-notch bowler in our eyes, regardless of any rankings fluctuations. We're confident he'll excel and help us bring the World Cup home!

Mohammed Siraj’s rampage that dismissed Sri Lanka for 50 in Colombo has helped him top the charts of the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s ODI Bowling Rankings. The Asia Cup-winning spell of 6/21 has returned him to the No.1 position, a place he last occupied in March 2023, before being displaced by Josh Hazlewood.

Biryani question is bcoz he is from land of biryani aka Hyderabad. Ambati Rayudu was also known as Biryani boy as Indian team was often invited in his house for biryani feast when the match was in Hyderabad. Infact, it was reported that once he brought home made Biryani in the 5star hotel team was staying but staff didn't allow to bring outside food. It miffed then captain Dhoni so much that Indian team shifted to a different hotel.

That one performance against Sr Lanka!

The way ICC calculates points for Indian teams, it wouldn't be surprising for me that Siraj's ranking will climbs even higher than 1st Poistion.

They will introduce "Ultra Pro Max 1st" as a new option in ICC Ranking for him. :ROFLMAO:

Josh Hazlewood dethrones Mohammed Siraj as the No.1 ODI bowler
It was a surprise for many to see Siraj top of the rankings. Today, he looked an average bowler against Afghanistan and if he has a couple of more performances like this, we may see him replaced by Shami.

On certain tracks. But on certain trakcs he is better than Bumrah

It is hard for every bowler to click in a single match. Somebody will travel. Today it was Siraj's turn. He will be backed.

All hail the #1 ODI ranked bowler in the world. Shehzada Siraj

Minnow basher.

FLOP in this world cup and FLOP in two ICC test championships finals as well.

Destroyed South Africa in the 2nd Test.

6/15 in 9 overs!

Mercurial lad, like Stuart Broad he has the ability to run through batting lineups on his day. The Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka, today's show. Wish he had fired in the WTC final or WC final.

I really think Rohit missed the mark in WC final. Should have gone with Siraj in initial spell but went with Shami from other end. Siraj is a bowler who takes wickets when the ball is new. Shami is old ball bowler. I guess pressure got to Rohit.

All of his top performances have come on overseas tours. The way he dismantled the batting line of Proteas, was fantastic. look at his stats.

Siraj is very mercurial. On his day he will run through sides.
Sadly, very inconsistent. When he is good, he is like red hot Stuart Broad. When he is bad, he is rubbish. Maybe needs a better bowling coach like Bharat Arun.

Siraj's remarkable turnaround in the late overs for RCB:

  • Just 4 runs conceded in the 16th over.
  • Another 4 runs in the 19th over.
Mohammed Siraj's stellar display was a standout against PBKS in IPL 2024:

4 overs, 2 wickets for 26 runs.

West Indies legend Brian Lara suggests that Mohammed Siraj should take a break for a couple of matches after Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) suffered a seven-wicket defeat to Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL 2024. While speaking to a local Indian sports channel, Lara said:

"He should be given rest for a couple of reasons. He should think about what has been happening in the team. He is the same Siraj that we have seen taking wickets with the new ball whether it's in Test cricket, one-day cricket or even this format in T20. He has been a champion bowler for Team India, and even for RCB he has done well. But I feel he's not doing what he is required to do, he requires rest, not only mentally but physically as well because he has been playing a lot of cricket."

"He’s played 4 tests against England, before that whatever series India was playing he has already been a part of the team. And he bowls a lot of overs. He looks a bit tired physically and mentally. And with this kind of hammering, it's difficult for any bowler to wake up the next day and feel alright. I also went through these situations where I got hammered by different batters, you have to give yourself a bit of time to relax, think about your game, work hard in the nets, work on your game and come back stronger like we have seen Siraj and I'm sure he'll come back stronger."

India’s Siraj regains rhythm ahead of cricket’s T20 World Cup

Royal Challengers Bengaluru's pace spearhead Mohammed Siraj produced a scintillating new-ball burst in their Indian Premier League (IPL) victory against Gujarat Titans on May 4 to ease concerns over his form ahead of the cricket T20 World Cup in June.

The 30-year-old, who has been picked in the 15-member India squad for the T20 showpiece, to be co-hosted by the United States and West Indies, has struggled for form and rhythm in the ongoing IPL.

Siraj showed what he is capable of with the new ball against Gujarat, as he dismissed opener Wriddhiman Saha and rival captain Shubman Gill in successive overs to help bundle out Gujarat for 147 in 19.3 overs.

Bengaluru won by four wickets with 38 balls remaining and are now seventh of 10 sides in the points table following their fourth win in 11 matches.

“I haven’t bowled with the new ball too much this season,” Siraj, who was named player of the match for his figures of 2-29, said.

“But this felt great because that new ball is my strength.

“Last year I did really well with the new ball, I got a lot of wickets. Today’s performance brought back memories of last year.”

Siraj is one of the three specialist fast bowlers in India's World Cup squad, and the right-arm quick was rested from the home game against Sunrisers in April.

"I had been playing red-ball cricket for a long time, and then suddenly a shift to white ball was not easy," he said.

"I was lacking in rhythm initially. I felt something was lacking. But as I kept on practising, I got my rhythm back."

Bengaluru assistant coach Adam Griffith was pleased with Siraj's return to form.

"Siraj is a rhythm bowler. He's the leader of our group," Griffith said.

"He's such an important part of what we're trying to do.

"So, having him up and going, swinging the ball again, bowling with good pace, and being aggressive is so important."

Mohammed Siraj has been phenomenal with the new ball since 2023.

Most improved cricketer in the last two years?

Most wickets in powerplay in ODI's since 2023

Indian cricketer Mohammed Siraj has been appointed as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Telangana, answering to the Director General of Police (DGP), and has expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for the honor.

In a recently posted video by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, the Indian bowling coach Morne Morkel was seen praising the Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj:

"This man is a legend. Has got a big heart, an aggressive mindset, and is one of the leaders of the attack. And I am very excited to see how he goes in the tour."

"Last tour, he was a go-to man in tough situations, and we are excited to see more of that senior role coming out in him on a very important tour."

Just when I thought Siraj was getting soft, he’s turned it around in Australia. Great bowler when he’s bowling like that.

He is very unlikeable character. He should remember his humble beginnings.

Most people from humble background start being obnoxious as soon as they get the money and fame. He is one of those guys.

Absolutely terrible behaviour.

Think he has changed since his 181kph delivery.... :D

During the first day of the Pink-ball Test between India and Australia in Adelaide, a technical glitch in the speed-gun led to a viral moment. Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj's delivery was incorrectly clocked at an astounding 181.6 Kmph during the 24th over of Australia's innings. This speed is well beyond the realm of human capability in cricket, with the fastest recorded delivery being 161.3 Kmph by Shoaib Akhtar. The error quickly became a topic of widespread discussion and amusement on social media, with fans and experts alike sharing the video and joking about the "supersonic" delivery.

Did Mohammed Siraj Bowl 181.6 Kmph Delivery In Pink-Ball Test vs Australia? Speed-Gun Error Goes Viral

A technical glitch by the speed-gun clocked Indian cricket team fast bowler Mohammed Siraj's delivery at 181.6 Kmph during Day 1 of the Pink-ball Test against Australia in Adelaide on Friday. The incident took place during the 24th over of the Australia innings when the speed-gun showed that Siraj's final delivery was clocked at an unbelievable speed. For reference, the fastest delivery in cricket history was clocked at 161.3 Kmph by legendary Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar. The incident resulted in a lot of chatter on the social media and the video of the entire incident has already gone viral among the users.

Coming to the match, seasoned pacer Mitchell Starc made the most of a moving pink ball for a career-best six-wicket haul as India flattered to deceive to let Australia hold all the aces.

Opting to bat, India had it under control at 69 for one before they lost their way to settle for 180 all out at stroke of dinner.

A fearless Nitish Reddy (42 off 54) was the sole man responsible for taking his team past the 150-run mark, adding valuable runs with the lower-order.

Australia did well to reach 86 for one at stumps with Marnus Labuschagne (20 batting off 67) and Nathan McSweeney (38 batting off 97) finding welcome runs.

The conditions remained challenging for the batters through the day but the pitch had enough runs for the taking.

The hosts would be backing themselves to surpass India's total on day two, considering the easier batting conditions in daylight.

Labuschagne, fighting for his place in the side, once again took a long time, 19 balls to be specific, to get off the mark but then found ways to score runs. McSweeney was dropped by Rishabh Pant early in his innings and he rode that luck to frustrate the opposition.

Birthday boy Jasprit Bumrah was once again the best Indian bowler on show and picked up the only wicket to fall in Australia's innings, having Usman Khawaja caught at first slip with a beauty.

The Indian pace spearhead will need more support from the fellow fast bowlers on Saturday.

No siraj should be banned, and I stand by it.

He started it, and anyone who insults Travis deserves to never play cricket again.

Unprofessional cricketer and he is now my most hated bowler of all time.
I hope a fight ensues and we see blood. Apparently head said something racist about him being a Muslim.

He said shouldn't you play for Pakistan or something?
Oz really have zero general knowledge don't they lol. No knowledge outside their little cocoon.

Head said F you that's it.

He left after, he didn't stay their with a long essay detailing why he should play for pk lol.

Siraj insulted first and Travis hit back, that's all. Stop spreading misinformation.

No misinformation. This is the plight of the average Australian's general knowledge. No one reacts the way siraj did unless you say something offensive. He dint just say well bowled. Get out of here. The fans in the stadium mocked him for being a Muslim. It happened last time too. Called him Shiraz and crap.

Muslim community should hang those fans to death.

Head did say offensive words to siraj. I hope siraj reports him and takes this to court.

Siraj has reacted that way several times to many other cricketers. Head is not the first.

So yes it's misinformation

He dint say well bowled mate. Lmao

Delusional if you think that's what he said.

So no misinformation.

I want to see some backlash from Muslim community for the disrespect the aus fans and head showed towards siraj just cause he follows islam.

I never said he said well bowled but he didn't say anything that you are accusing him off

It's funny the hate Siraj sometimes gets from a section. He reminds me of Stuart Broad. Can have mediocre/poor days/spells, but can also come up with extraordinary spells that turn a game. I'm not talking about this fag end of the Aus innings but in general.

This has been a great spell today by DSP Siraj. Salute to his passion for Bharat.

Very good observation actually. Credit to you. Now that i think of it you’re absolutely spot on with this comparison. Siraj is a different bowler when he’s in that mood and rhythm, very much like Broad who would turn up like that on certain days.

Boy has achieved the milestone.

Mohammed Siraj enters the prestigious 100-wicket club in Test cricket.
